WHO: Sun, Mercury and Emerald
WHAT: Bounty Huntin'!
WHEN 01/12
WHERE: Mostly Attleton
[When Sun saw the bounty on the guy in Attleton, he knew that he had to go after it. 5000 red bills was a lot of money. But the guy was a serial killer, and Sun wasn’t stupid enough to go after him alone, though he probably could have. He thought of inviting Neptune, but he didn’t want to interrupt his work.
Then he thought of invite Blake or another member of Team RWBY, but then he decided he needed to spend time with some Haven students. Sun had spent a lot of time with RWBY and other Beacon students as it was, but he couldn’t deny that it would be fun to hang with some other Haven students. So he sent Mercury and Emerald a message earlier with the details that he knew and invited them to join him if they wanted to.
So he sat outside of the archway that lead to Attleton waiting for them. In his hand was an apple that he may or may not have stolen and he was currently eating it as a little snack. He didn’t know how long it would take to track the guy, but he hoped the job would be a quick one.]

Either way, she strolls up and leans against whatever wall/post/fence was nearest Sun. ]
We aren't just going to stake out alleys until someone gets killed right?
[ Emerald wasn't the kind of girl who came up with plans so much as followed them, but she knew that she and Mercury both would likely get bored with this if that was the case. ]

It's going to be be a long night, if we try to do it that way. Anyone have any ideas?

Alright. I'll try not to bore us all with nerdy details. This guy leaves behind no evidence DNA evidence or anything do he is smart or he has some kind of power. [He digs into his coat pocket and pulls out a map of the city. He unfolds it and shows it to them and points out each marking as he talks about them.]
The red Xs are where he has killed, and he never does it in the same place twice. The black circles are where the nearest group of homeless people were at the time. [Each kill is always within a certain radius of one of the clusters, like the killer is stalking them and waiting for them to get far enough far the group. Above each kill mark is a time, always between 8pm and 12am.]
And the green marks are where the people are now. They are far less scattered because of these recent homeless killings. [People wanting to band together for protection and all.] The number of alleys near where they are now isn’t many and some have direct views into them from nearby buildings. I think the guy is more likely to strike at one of the alleyways further away so he doesn’t draw too much attention. Maybe try to catch a person as they are going to join up with the rest or grab one that has strayed far enough away. But that’s just my theory. I’m open to hearing both of your thoughts on everything.

Which leads to the question of how they're tracking where the strays get off to. ]
They'd have trouble figuring out which way the strays were going. The number of alleys is limited now but it wasn't in the earlier killings.
[ She points to some of the other ones that it seems like there were more side streets. ]
Someone with a great local vantage point or the killer is already in the group, maybe?

He peers at the map as well now, letting Emerald speak her part before gesturing to a couple more of the alleys that haven't been marked off yet. ]
And we can probably rule out this zone, here - it's too close to the residential area. Our guy's been smart enough to avoid being seen so far, I don't think he'll pop up where there are so many more potential witnesses who could be looking out the window to catch him in the act.

Discounting the residential areas, we’ve still got a few areas that he could strike within range of the group. [They just can’t go and tell them what’s going on, because the guy would get spooked and go into hiding and they’d never catch him. They also couldn’t be too obvious when staking out the area.]
I do..have an idea. I’m thinking if we..acquire [Read: Steal] some food and take it to them to, the homeless people might be more likely to stick around. If the guy becomes desperate, he might go after the first person to stray from the group. [He hated using a homeless person as bait, though. But what could they do? He also didn’t have to steal food, he could have asked a Guardian for a favor or asked Ozpin to write some letter to some place in Vale so they could get the food honestly.]

[ She's not going to pretend to be a homeless person. Mostly because Roman would literally never call her anything but street rat if he heard about it. Which admittedly isn't something she can tell Sun as her reason for not volunteering herself, so she pointedly leans back as if she's checking the boys out, then points at Sun. ]
Out of the three of us, you look the most like a hobo. [ Before he can argue, she looks to Mercury while motioning at Sun again with her thumb. ] But he's got the better advantage for an aerial view if he climbs around on top of the buildings near Camp Homeless. I volunteer you to do it, Mercury.
[ Yeah her plan is completely based on the fact that she wants to make Mercury dress like a hobo. That cool? She looks to Sun like she's hoping he'll approve. He is kind of the leaderish person here, after all. ]
