[Lie Ren awakens in the pod, and takes stock of the situation. Strange place, box, water, kind of beach area. How very, very strange. He opens the box and finds the pamphlet and reads that over a few times, digesting all the information and making sure he hadn't missed anything, before getting out and walking to the beach with the box in his hands. Before he makes his way into the city proper, but after dusting himself down however, he makes a brief broadcast on the audio channel.

Even that isn't spoken into immediately after being switched on.]

...This pamphlet did not tell me everything. [It doesn't take a genius. Who would be brought here with 'no method of return' and there be no ulterior motive?] This is a request for any further information. [And that's it. ~~And even so, it's probably still more than his fellow students heard from him in a day.~~ But seriously, he has little choice, there's more than he's been given and it wouldn't do to go strolling blindly into danger at all.

Which is why, as he walks to the town, you may catch him walking through. He's not tensed up and ready to fight the first thing that comes along, but he's wary. Though, the main sign of that is just how his eyes move from side to side, taking things in as he walks.]

[Cherise was just on her way to investigate the realm of Fayren. She pauses outside of the barrier when her radio beeps, indicating a new message has been issue. She peels off a glove to better handle the device. What she sees is, apparently, a polite and well-mannered young man. Fayren can wait, she supposes, and she lingers outside of the Gateway.]

I assume you just arrived? Welcome to Genessia. My name is Cherise.

[She offers a polite smile.]

You may ask what you will, though I can't promise to know the answer to all of your questions.

[He nods in response to the question and gives a] Thank you. [At the offer. There's a pause before he offers] My name is Lie Ren.

[Questions though... They're not forthcoming immediately. He's sorting through what would be most prudent to ask first. Eventually he comes up with: people in charge, team/other students, Nora specifically. He was very tempted to prioritise asking about Nora, but as much as he was worried about whether she was also here or not, but he mustn't let himself loose his head over her. Be Sensible about this, Ren.]

...Who would be considered leader of the city?

Captain Hammer is the appointed City Guardian.

[She lays her fingertips together.]

However, he's not responsible for bringing us here, if that's the purpose of your question.

[He nods, although that wasn't his reasoning for asking at all. It's just wise to know who those in charge are, not least because maybe they have more answers.]

Do you know a girl named Nora Valkyrie? [There's a short pause, where he is mentally holding himself in exasperation. She was suppose to be last, idiot. So he adds] Or her friends? They may also go by the names of RWBY or JNPR as a group. [~~But mostly Nora~~]

The team names aren't familiar to me.

[She actually knows Jaune, she just hasn't heard of Team Juniper yet.]

But you needn't worry, dear. If they're in the city, they'll make themselves known soon enough.

[The fact that she hasn't heard of them unsettles him a little. It's not like they're... miss-able. So he might be worrying a little. He nods, however.]

Is there anything to know that you might consider useful? [you know, not covered by the shady pamphlet]

[She taps a finger against the corner of her mouth thoughtfully. The pamphlet covers the basics, but there are some things it's good to be savvy about.]

Well, the information in the booklet is spot on, I'll give it that. And the city guardian of Everglade, Harry Dresden, is trustworthy. I realize there's not much weight in the opinion of a person you've just met, but I've found him capable and agreeable.

[...there's been a string of new people arriving all over the place. maybe there's clues this time.]

Do you remember anything prior to waking up here?

[The voice is unfamiliar, and in an unexpected turn of events, is asking him questions. About... what? Hmmm. What was the last thing he remembered? the team talking excitedly before before bed about the Vytal festival coming up. Nope, wait-]

Falling asleep.

[After telling Nora to shut up as she was still going. That was probably it.]

[another dead end.]

Makes me wonder what they put us to sleep with.

[Don't mind his long silence on his end, as he considers this. Perhaps some strange synergy that's as yet not really been heard of? It seems... unlikely. Besides, there was no one there but them in the room, he was sure of it. It would have been while they slept, if anything else.

which is a pretty concerning line of though. However-] How would they transport us? [Is the major one, especially to transport them here without awakening them at any point in the journey. He believes that would be the main thing to get any kind of answer at all.]

[adam still hasn't been able to find answers, and it's been rather irritating.]

That, I'm still not sure about. In fact they leave no traces of anything, just that we arrived.

[He nods thoughtfully, but... oh, right. Audio. that means a verbal response is probably required.]

Strange.

[there's so much strange about this. But he really does think that if you found at least the method of transport, you'd definitely start finding some sort of answers.]

[...talking to this human has proven difficult. he doesn't speak much it seems.]

Indeed.

[don't worry, that's not just you.

He waits to see if more is coming, and when it doesn't, he finally asks:] What do you plan to do?

For the time being, simply living here and scoping things out. When I find who did this to us, I plan on killing them.

[He gives a small hmmph, sounding thoughtful. It's a good plan, up to the killing them part. Mostly because:]

Then how would we get back?

[Because you have no knowledge of their method of transportation, and they haven't left any way for them to get back themselves. But if you use them for the information, or even get them to send us back home, then in all likelihood, You won't get to kill them like you seem so set on. Which is more important to you? He sees the holes in your plot.]

We won't. Not yet at least.

[which annoys him oh so much.]

Progress slowed further if you were to kill our captors as soon as you find them.

Fine. I can torture answers out of them though.

[...His gaze might just have had some serious distaste appear in it, to say the least. It shouldn't be considered an answer, let alone one to be so easily considered.

You are indeed being wordlessly judged right now.]

[Jaune finally gets around to responding to Ren, his face appearing on the other boy's phone.]

Well buddy, I've got good news and bad news! The good news is that everyone's here - Pyrrha just showed up a little while ago and Nora's been here for a bit.

The bad news is that what you read in the pamphlet is all anyone seems to know.

But it's good to see you! Hey, find a place called Tupelo Alley - that's my apartment building. Might as well find me and Nora, right?

[He's a little bit surprised at seeing Jaune's face come up on his comm, but he listens to what he has to say and finally nodding.

He's both extremely happy and extremely worried to hear that Nora is here, too, Worried because is she okay and happy because at least he's got his best friend - as selfish as maybe that is. If there is no escape, he can't help but feel a little bit sorry for the people that have had to share the confines of this place with her. She's a force, that's for sure.]

Which apartment are you in?

Oh, 406! That's on the fourth floor. I'm right at the end. I'm pretty sure the guy that helped me move in tried to put me as far away from Ruby and her team on purpose...

[And that's just so weird!]

[He nods, and cuts off the feed with no opinion given on this fact. But be honest - did you expect one? Not too long after - the map function is simple enough to navigate - Jaune will have a knock on his door.]

[Jaune was quick to answer.] Ren! Hey!

[What was appropriate? A hug? No, no, not that. A handshake? Uh, maybe not... He and Ren really don't talk much, huh? After a moment's indecision, he simply steps back into his quaint little apartment to let his team mate in.] Nora's not here right now. I... don' quite know WHERE she's off to, but she'll be around.

[He simply waits through the indecision, then steps into the apartment when Jaune moves to let him in. There is a moments wondering if he should offer a hand or something, but he's really not sure himself. And there's disappointment that Nora's not there right now, but he doesn't let it show.

Even as he's moving into the apartment, he's already asking]

How has she been?

Who, Nora? She's been fine! She's just been... y'know, Nora. [Better than could be said for most other people who popped up in Genessia. Nora seemed comfortable enough, if a little quieter than usual.]

So, did ya hear from the others? They had to have gotten in touch with you on your way here.

[If you listen reeeeal carefully, you may just hear the amused huff he makes under his breath. If there's one person he doesn't doubt would come and be unpeturbedly themselves without regard for their situation? It's Nora.

As for being contacted, there's a brief shake of the head. He's assuming you mean of team JNPR.]

Ah, huh... Well, everyone's here. Ruby's team, our team, so... Eventually you're probably gonna hear from all of them. [Jaune shrugs - good things will come to those who wait!]

So, this is my place. [He turns after closing the door behind Ren and kind of gestures to his abode with a sweeping gesture of his arm. It's pretty nice - Tupelo Alley is one of the higher-end places, after all. Even his wages as a deputy guardian suffer a fair hit when it comes to the upkeep of the place.] It's not that big. Nora lives here with me and a girl named Karina.

You can get comfortable here if you want. I've gotta meet Ruby in the lobby to help her out with something, and it's probably gonna take a while.

[The fact that everyone is here earns him a surprised look, Before he looks around the room from his spot, taking in the apartment. It's a fairly nice place, he'll agree, and may be he can find a place quickly so that he's not taking up too much room. It'll be really weird though...

Hmm.

He nods in response, still thinking over the apartment thing. He doesn't mind being left alone in the apartment, he just doesn't know he's going to end up responding to the same thing Jaune is going to go talk to her about.]

[Here, have a familiar redhead appearing on the screen.]

[He spends most of the day wishing she has an off button, but right now he has no desire to actually use it - well, the one on the comm anyway. Jaune might have told him she's fine, but he'd like to see for himself, too.

plus, you know, He's very glad to see her.

She's greeted with a small smile.] That's still not a sloth sound.

[He shakes his head at the 'sloth sound', a little amused even if his mostly impassive face doesn't show it. She should know.]

Not long. [About half an hour to an hour, if he's right.]

I am back at the house when you are finished. [Just giving you that little bit of information.]

[She smiles and laughs, and from the looks of the background, is probably running somewhere.]

See you when I get there!

[He nods in response, before putting the feed down while he waits. However, it's still on if she needs anything.]

That was- Oh. It's already on.

[That was slowly getting louder]

Ren is that you?

[It is I, Lie Ren, student of Beacon academy and- of course that's not the sort of answer you get. It's more like:]

Yes.

[Actually, it's exactly like that. But he does also ask:] Does this find you well also? [Jaune hadn't said either way although he'd said she was here- mainly because he'd asked about Nora and he hadn't had time before meeting Ruby, probably.]
