[He's a little late as he's still learning the area, but he most certainly does show up. The prospects of another job had him interested, not to mention another that apparently wants to keep things quiet.]

[It's not long enough for him to get twitchy and leave, but he's already finished his drink. The empty glass is sitting on the table in front of him, and when Alvin enters, he gestures at the seats.]

You're still unknown enough that you might be useful to me. I want you to track down a guy known as M, and get in his inner circle.

[Yeah, there was no beating around the bush on that one.]

[Alvin's just going to take the seat, he doesn't have a chance to order his own drink before Dean drops the job on him. This M guy must be really popular if two people have already contacted him about tracking him down. On the bright side, Alvin was already on the inside, but that wasn't something they needed to know right now. Not until he actually got some information.]

Well, I did just get here so yeah, I can't can't say anyone really knows who I am.

M?

[He'll pause and ponder the idea for the moment.]

Well what can you tell me about this guy? A little information may help me track this guy down.

He's responsible for at least two kidnappings so far. [Yup, that's his opener.] He's very distinct when he does it. And he seems to like bombs. A lot. ]

[He pauses, then decides to give something maybe actually a bit relevant. But not too much, neeeever too much.] M was one of the first people in - he may have even been here before us original ten that all woke up together. But he rarely, if ever, shows his face on the network. what I've seen of him myself is just static and a screen showing an 'M' on it - hence, you know, why we call him M.

Distinct how?

[Yang had mentioned that he likes to text and let everyone know that he's one doing this, but maybe there's a bit more information he can get from this guy.]

Just how long has it been since the "original ten" woke up? And how many of them are still around now?

Well, for one thing? He's not exactly subtle. He likes to let people know what he's doing... but it's more of a game to him. Not like the others here that just want the attention, he likes to make you think you've got a chance. City-wide texts and pictures... but he doesn't seem to work with anyone either. Not yet anyway. [pause] Mind you, he'd probably kill 'em rather than pay 'em or give them their slice of glory or what-the-hell-ever anyway. [Okay, so that's more speculation. But. Whatevs.]

...[He sighs after thinking a short while.] Well over a year now... Shit, it's got to be coming up for two soon. Including before whatever the hell happened to the city before all you new kids started getting pulled in. And from that landing? Two of us. [You don't get names. Or, you know, the other name, as it's probably pretty damned clear he's one of them.]

[Alvin is certainly taking notes at the moment. A lot of what Dean is saying matches up with what he's heard from Yang about this guy. It's also good to know just what his other employer is capable of. The one that he's now spying on for two people, but they don't need to know that he works for M, and M doesn't need to know that he works for them. Alvin was confident he could work this from both angles. It's not the first time he's done this dance.

Alvin will keep a pretty good poker face up while Dean talks.]

[And then the money is withdrawn, hidden back inside his jacket.] The job in itself is simple enough. Get in, report back regularly with what you have, and in particular find something that'll tell me where he's holed up. The bonus comes from if you get me his face, or an exact location. You lose it all if you so much as touch him, or I don't find him in one piece. You lose more than that if I find you double cross me. [That's a promise, you can see it in his face.] I think you know what the risks are without really trying all that hard. [A wry smile] Don't need to put any of this on paper.

It's more than enough time to finish up with Alvin, so should she show, he's going to be sat there alone with a drink in front of him. well, he's had a bottle left this time, and there's a clean empty glass opposite the one he's using.]

Jack's bar? [She's passed by there once or twice, so she thinks she knows the way. If not, she's getting the hang of using the map on her phone.] Very well. We will discuss things further in person.

[When that disconnected, Milla pondered her options. With no reason to doubt the man's sincerity, and no enemies to be wary of, Milla decides she'd go. Eight p'clock was a long time to wait though, considering she was doing nothing else of interest.

When eight does roll around though, Milla meets with this "Liam Mills." Ignoring all the clever nods the owner made to such a meeting being one of romantic interests, she steps into the room to see the man seated there.]

I can only assume your name isn't actually Liam Mills. [She closes the door and steps inside, though rather than sit, she prefers to stand. Placing a hand on her hip, she regards him.] So, what do you have for me?

[there's a small grin, mostly wry.] A plus for your detective skills.

[The fact he's gone to a lot of lengths to be flying under the radar and not be overheard should tell you it's big.]

I have a guy called 'M'. [Dean carries right on with explaining why, because he figures she's going to want the same info as Alvin. He gives her just as much as he gave the other guy, but faster] He's been responsible for at least two kidnappings, one death, and some explosions thrown in for good measure. That's just so far. And despite spreading it everywhere, he's damned good at keeping himself anonymous at the same time.

Your job is to get in contact with him - or get him to contact you - and get to a position where you can find something out about his location, reporting back on anything to do with him regularly as you do so.

[Aha, so we have a man with no regard for human life, an affinity for making others miserable, and no respect for property. Well, this sounds about par for the course, but Milla's not about to make any wild assumptions. M's actions speak for themselves.]

Sounds like that would be easier said than done. There's nothing on any possible locations at all? Surely he doesn't perform all these acts on his own... no known allies?

We don't know how alone he is for sure, but he's not the 'play with others' type of guy. So, if he's got people he's working with, you can be damned sure he's playing 'em.

Do you think I'd be here hiring you if I knew where he was to shoot him in the damned head himself? It's part of the job, if you take it. [A short pause] Don't worry, I've taken the difficulty of the case into account.

[Milla stares at the man for a while, only breaking eye-contact to ponder over the task at hand.]

It sounds difficult, but I'll do what I can to assist you. Unfortunately there are no promises I can make. Without any sort of starting point, I'll be going into this blind; it will probably take some time before I manage to track anything related to this 'M' character down.

[She'll have to keep a very close eye on things, especially the news, as it seems she's going to be at a fair disadvantage in the beginning. How does someone find a man whose invisible hands could be in anything?]

Mm... [The terms were crystal clear, making it obvious that whoever this man she was to look for is, her employer here wants to get his hands on them to settle some sort of personal vendetta. That... was an awkward position to be in. It was her understanding of human justice that one who committed such crimes should stand in judgement of one in authority. Well, she'd be sure to bring that up later. For now, the job of getting some kind of lead on M was just enough.]

Very well, I accept your terms. I will do everything within my power to get you... something. My question is simply this: if I find something, how would you prefer I contact you? Would a simple message on the communicator be enough?
