Braga is getting plenty of stares after she exits the Bay. Apparently, the natives aren't used to seeing a hulking, one-eyed orc in Genessia City. Especially one wearing a sheer silk robe and fuzzy slippers. Orcish toughness helps her handle the cold. The hologram of Weiss shocks her, but she figures it's just a really advanced illusion spell. She heads to the nearest café for a warm drink and to let the weirdness sink in. Anyone who has a problem with her attire either realizes that she's a newcomer or is too intimidated by her monstrous appearance to protest.

[ The feed turns on, showing a ceiling and the tail end of a sentence]

[ The camera moves to show Braga's face. At first it focuses on her eye, but she eventually gets it in a better position. Hopefully she'll see someone she recognizes.]

Looks like I'm gonna be here a while. Anyone wanna recommend any books?

[ Probably not a question most people would expect from an orc.]

[ Ed has not been very long in Genessia and is still going wide-eyed and intrigued by pretty much... everything he sees, that's not normal in 1935s Kuchen.

His curiosity is not hidden at all (he's not a very good actor either way so he sees no reason in trying) as he comes over to take her order at the café he happens to be working in. ]

Guten Tag. Would you like me to take your order?

[ Braga smiles politely at him, trying to appear non threatening. She takes the curiosity in stride. ]

Yes, please. A large mocha. Hot.

[ Even if he's only half a gentleman, politeness does help. Maybe he should stick to the politeness too but he's always excited to meet new people and sure this person looks a little scary, but that's never stopped him before. He offers half a grin, and nods. ]

Got it, just wait a bit and I'll be right back.

[ He'll be back not long after, the requested beverage on a tray, but he moves it over to the table as soon as he returns. ]

Is there anything else you would like?

[ He's not gotten this job down pat entirely, yet. He probably should have asked before getting the mocha. ]

No problem. I got plenty of time.

[ And once he returns with the drink.]

Wow, that was quick.

[ She takes a sip]

It's good.

[ It's okay. If she wanted more stuff she would have ordered it then.]

This is fine for now, thank you.

[ He grins, and then nods. ]

[ And because he can't keep back his curiosity: ]

It might be a bit rude, but may I ask something?

[ Should he have said "prudent"? but he's not Lui or Orphe so.. "rude" is good enough a word. ]

[ Going with rude is fine. It's better to use the words you know.]

Sure, go ahead.

[ Figures he hasn't seen an orc before.]

[Well... He should think about his social standing, as he is the son of a marquis, but he didn't know that until he was seven or ten or something.

Still, he wants to ask his question as politely as he can. ]

You don't look like anyone I've ever met before. What, um, are you, exactly?

[ That could have been more smoothly phrased. ]

[ She expects to get this question a lot,so she appreciates the politeness.]

I'm an orc. We're generally bigger, stronger and tougher than humans. Most of my kind ain't as civilized, though.

[That's the nicest way of putting it.There's a reason most orcs call her "the Bastard".]

An orc? I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar with the word, but okay. That sounds very interesting.

[ No reason to doubt her; she ought to know what she is. Also he's completely honest, he thinks it sounds really interesting.

Unfortunately, he comes from two years before the word "orc" is started to be used, otherwise he would know it. You bet he'll read Hobbit when it's released. ]

Not surprising. I doubt your world has them.

[ And she hasn't heard much about Fayren yet.]

I doubt it, too. But it would be fun to find out for sure.

[ Because he loves meeting people and non-humans were included. ]

Sure.

[ She's not sure how he would find that out about his world.]

A lot of worlds seem to have humans.
