[Accidental video]
[When the video clicks on, it's obvious the owner of the device is unaware of the feed being established. Mewtwo hovers in the air, eyes closed, legs crossed as he meditates. The camera seems to be hovering some distance away from him as well, part of a circle of perfectly carved cube rocks orbiting him in the air slowly. Moments after the feed starts, the device starts translating his thoughts to sound without his realizing it.]
...ruary sixth, if my memory serves... eleven years to the day. So much has happened in such a short time. It's hard to believe that it all happened in little over a decade... At times like this I almost find myself wondering where I - and the rest of my world - would be had Ash not stepped in during that battle... Would I have succeeded? Would I have been stopped? Surely the other guardians would not have allowed my rampage to go unchecked... what would have happened should Rayquaza have stepped in? The sky I was using to conjure my storm is its domain after all, to say nothing of beings like Lugia and Ho-Oh...
...to think how ignorant of the world I was makes me wonder... just how powerful am I truly? Did Giovanni know of Rayquaza's legends and design me accordingly? ...Or was I an arrogant man's equally arrogant bluff...?

[voice]
Ah, today's your birthday?
[A pause.]
I'm older than you.
video;
[voice]
[When Mewtwo hears the voice, the sound of the rocks thudding to the ground can be heard, followed by a raspy "Mew..."]
Yes. Today is my 'birthday' as you would call it...
video;
[When he gets a response, the rocks plummet back to the ground, prompting an annoyed growl from the Charizard who was napping off to the side.]
On this day, eleven years ago, I was created.
[voice]
Instead, a hesitant question comes forth:] Are you okay?
[voice]
Yes. I'm fine. I was simply unaware that the device had been swept up in my meditations. I thought I had left the device far enough out of my sphere of influence.
[There was a noise sounding somewhere between an amused grunt and soft roar.]
...it would appear I left it in the way of my guest.
video;
Eleven. Only eleven?
You seem a lot... um, wiser than someone who's only eleven-years-old.
Ted wishes he could quit you
" 'The Legend of Rayquaza'? Oh, you cad! You really must get these things into print. What pray tell, is that legend?"
video;
[ She's not going to let herself seem too eager to ask about the first part. Being helpful is the image she wants to give off, after all. Questions in a minute. ]
video;
[She didn't think so, but she could understand that some might not think this way themselves.]
I can understand wondering how much power one has, but I think the power is only as good as for the reasons.
video;
[He sighs a bit, waving a hand and picking the rocks up again, careful to leave the device on the ground, giving Zuko an odd angle of his meditation.]
My intelligence and power are hard-coded into my DNA, and I was forced to mature very quickly. My creators had hoped to use my immaturity to lock me into a live of servitude, and for a time they succeeded.
Mewtwo wishes that too. /o/
Mewtwo for his part is just going to... groan softly. The constant annoyance that was Ted seemed to just be par for the course these days. Some times he regretted saving him from the goblins.
"Like most legends, the truth is far more mundane than the stories. The dragon Rayquaza is a fiercely territorial dragon that calls the skies above the Hoenn region where I now make my home his territory. Any unnatural disturbances in the weather, or intrusions high in the stratosphere are sure to earn its wrath."
video;
Unfortunately, I doubt there are any in this place that can provide me a decent enough challenge.
video;
For me, it is doubly important. I watch over a colony of creatures like myself... of my own creation. We are seen as aberrations by the natural world, and some have attempted to erase our "mistake" for simply being what we are. As their creator, it is my responsibility to defend them from such assaults.
Likewise, for Pokemon, power is a mark of growth. In order to grow, we battle and hone our abilities in combat. It is simply instinct in that regard.
video;
I can't imagine growing up that way.
video;
[When she thinks about this and what he says, she starts to wonder something.]
So, power in your world is strength. Is it like strength to protect those that you care about?
[Video]
[The post did give Midboss food for thought, though.]
If you don't mind my asking...you are 11 years old?
video;
Not many can. My first memories are of fear and anger directed at the world with no real reason why... and then I started to hear the thoughts of my creators, how they would use me for their own goals, what my being meant to them... and so I lashed out with a power I could scarcely control. There were at least twenty in that lab... and within minutes of gaining consciousness for the first time, I killed them all.
Everything terrified me... the world, the implications of my creation, and my power. That lack of experience was what led me into shackles...
[He trails off, only belatedly realizing he's spilling his guts to Zuko... though Zuko had been more amiable than Weiss or Azula had been. Still, his affiliation with them made Mewtwo uneasy.]
video;
The circumstances of our... births would cause all to give pause and question the ethicality of our lives. However, that is not something I wish to get into with a stranger.
It takes that form, yes. But even infant Pokemon will butt heads with their siblings, pushing themselves and their peers to their limits. It is not done in anger, or ill-will. It simply is.
[Video]
[At this point, Mewtwo has just resigned himself to be interrupted.]
Time is of little importance to me. Pokemon do not age in the sense that humans understand it.
[He sighs a bit.]
Yes. I am.
[voice]
[Yes, Maka, clearly it's a friend.]
Is your guest the same type of creature you are?
[voice]
Less a friend and more closer to a refugee.
[The feed spins around to show the Charizard lounging on a pile of moss and grass as the fire lizard snorts annoyed at Mewtwo's choice of words.]
With the hysteria revolving around the dragons, certain individuals felt the Charizard would be safer in my care, and secluded from the uneducated eyes of Fayren.
video;
I guess so long as it isn't out of anger or anything bad. Then it's not that bad. I mean I guess siblings do argue and fight a lot for whatever reason. [She doesn't have any siblings so she wouldn't know that very well.]
video;
[voice]
[She's never seen a REAL dragon before and the reverence makes itself apparent in her voice.]
It's beautiful. This dragon thing does feel like it came up suddenly, do you have any idea why they're attacking people?
[voice]
[Mewtwo simply shakes his head for a moment.]
It isn't a dragon. It is a fire and flying-type. Dragon-type Pokemon are typically classified by scale patterns forming more rigid armor, as opposed to the flight friendly flexibility of a Charizard.
As for the motivations of this new breed, I cannot say. I've only been able to make meaningful contact with one, and even then my inquiries yielded cryptic results at best.
[Video]
No? Time flows differently for us demons, as well.
...I see. I had no idea.
video;
You underestimate me. My power was meant to bring a world to heel at my creator's whim, to make so-called gods cower before me. I doubt any human - from any world - would be physically capable of lasting a minute against me.
[He's not even bragging either. Just... stated very matter-of-factly.]
video;
It is simply a truth of my world. Pokemon battle because we desire to.
Re: [Video]
Time does not warp around any individual - [Save for maybe Dialga and Celebi] - it simply does not affect the physiology of pokemon as it does humans.
[Though he does arch an eyebrow at the mention of demons.]
...Demons?
video;
[ She's not going to doubt it. There was some immortal guy too, so that was a thing and a half to learn about. ]
video;
But I guess I have at least learnt something.
Re: Mewtwo wishes that too. /o/
"Very well. But what was the legend? Those tend to contain more truth than a mere sapless accounting."
no subject
"I do not curate the tales of superstitious humans. I only know that Rayquaza is classified as 'Legendary' by the people of Hoenn."
video;
There are only a handful of pokemon left in this place, and only one of those would likely be much of a challenge to me. A Pokemon's power demands a Pokemon to confront it. Anything less than that would not even qualify as a battle.
video;
Understanding is not necessary. It simply is, and acceptance of that fact is all that is required of you.
video;
[Video]
Indeed~ Demons, beings such as myself who are born in the Netherworld.
[He gave a small gesture to his pointed ears and red eyes.]
We are more powerful than humans are, but mostly fight amongst ourselves and the angels than other races.
video;
Emerald scratches her head, smiling politely and bowing her head a little. ]
Sorry I can't be of much help then.
