Be not so sorry for what you've done. . .

WHO: OPEN to anyone!
WHAT: Blake's healing after being trapped in a crystal but after she felt herself die. She's a little out of it with lost memories of her days in the White Fang.
WHERE: Hospital
WHEN: Feb. 14th, Happy Valentine's Day.
WARNINGS: Mentions of death, pain and potential sad? I'll update as needed.

The constant sound of beeping was not only annoying but at the same time it was...nice. One of her last memories was hearing her heart slowly stop when Torchwick shot her with that lightening bolt. Where he acquired such abilities must of been because of that creepy place that had her crystallized and when she woke from that death like slumber, she was greeted by her friend and teammate. She had to somehow make it up to Yang for causing so much trouble.

Which made her thoughts go to...Weiss. Oh good heavens, what if Torchwick got her as well? That made her gasp and sit up in the bed only to clutch her chest with a wince. Under her robe were the markings of scarred flesh from where the bolt had hit her and stopped her heart.

Swallowing the pain, Blake reached meekly to her IV and tugged on it until it freed itself from her. She had to make sure her teammates, Sun and Neptune were alright and she had no idea how long she had been in that bed.

It was times like these that made Ozpin feel the full extent of just how much he relied on his information networks. He had advised Glynda to stay away from the tower because there were others better suited to dealing with what lay within. What he didn't realize at the time, was the way the Fairy Tail guild had dwindled in number, or how Torchwick had gotten his hands on that power. It was only afterward that he found out Blake had been victimized, and as such he was coming to check on her, cane tucked under one arm, coffee in one hand, plate of cookies in the other. How he managed to open the door to Blake's room was anybody's guess, but he was talented.

"I seem to have come at a poor time, Miss Belladonna. I did not realize you were being discharged," he said, motioning to the now disconnected IV.

Yang had been in the hospital since she'd dragged Blake out of that tower and dumped her here, though when Blake woke up the blonde was out of the room. There was evidence of her though, her jacket hanging on the back of a chair, her bag on the floor next to it.

She didn't turn up for a few minutes though, walking in with a bowl of ice cream she'd swiped from the hospital cafeteria, and blinking in surprise, spoon halfway to her mouth, when she saw her partner was sitting up.

"Blake!" She grinned widely. "Finally decided to wake up, huh?"

Weiss came a little later than she had initially planned. Not because she'd been out enjoying Valentine's Day (though she had the distinct feeling that she spent the whole day with Zuko whether he was there in person or not) but because she needed to talk herself into going to see her. Torchwick had put in the effort to convince Weiss that what happened to Blake was at least in part her fault while he had her. If she'd been anyone but herself, she probably could've formed a well-reasoned argument not to go, but she was too stubborn to let anything like that keep her from seeing Blake alive.

She'd been told it was possible to come back from the dead in this place, but she'd never witnessed it. Seeing Blake when she stepped into the room with a small gift bag in her hand sent a rush of relief and disbelief over her. It barely felt real.

"I was going to get you flowers, but most of them are overpriced right now because of the last minute holiday sales, but I got you a book that came out while we were gone and a bag of a candy called Swedish fish. I don't think they have anything to do with fish besides the shape, though."

As a nurse I cringe every time someone pulls out their IV it is SO MESSY X_X;

Luke has been poking about the hospital quite a bit lately, checking on Koishi and keeping her company. When he heard that Blake was in as well, he thought he might stop in to see her as well.

True to form, he's brought a small tin of tea, a blend that's supposed to help with healing. He knocks quietly on the door before stepping in.

Standing in the doorway, he sees that she's tugged out the IV line, and his eyes widen. "M...Miss Belladonna! That--it's bleeding!"

The tin is abandoned at the foot of her bed as he scurries to the paper towel dispenser, quickly grabbing a fistful and hurrying over to Blake.

Ozpin sat down the cookies next to her bed along with his mug of coffee before moving over to a cupboard in the room, looking for some gauze, just in case the IV site began to bleed.

"No, we are still in Genessia, Miss Belladonna, and... from what I've been able to piece together, you've been through quite the ordeal."

He took a package of gauze from the cupboard before moving a chair closer to the bed and switching the gauze for his cup of coffee. "I'm assuming the IV was a pain killer of sorts. How are you feeling?"
shining_beacon: (I'll... keep this brief...)

After a moment, Ozpin handed the gauze to her. Part of him wanted to tape some of the gauze to her arm for her, but knew at this point she probably wouldn't want help that invasive.

"Your aura will likely take some time to recover. Considering the sheer number of people who emerged from the tower at the same time as you, I can only imagine what was going on. However, I cannot imagine it was anything pleasant, and it does offer me some comfort you don't seem to remember that."

He sips at his coffee, glancing down at the IV site for a moment. "I know you're not going to want to hear this, but I have to insist that you stay here for at least another day or so. You need rest to recover from your ordeal."

"Valentine's Day, Genessia Hospital, and Genessia."

Weiss was nothing if not straightforward, even if Blake was confused. She came closer, setting the little bag on the table next to the bed.

"I can see the blood on your arm, which means your Aura isn't back up yet so you need to stay here until it is. The medicine helps until you're not dehydrated and well enough that your Aura will wake up. You'll probably be out by the end of the day. And you should know that Ruby and Zuko made sure to hurt him."

The last part she added partly as a confirmation about what had happened, but it told Blake more than that if she was paying attention. Ruby and Zuko had to do it, so Weiss hadn't been able to. The other part was that Weiss was sure she wasn't the only one who took some satisfaction in Roman being injured.

He nodded slowly, concern clear on his face. He had failed to protect his students... one more mistake to add to his ever growing list. But he decided she deserved to know what he could tell her about everything.

"For some time, there was a cult within the city, worshiping some newly arrived god. Apparently, that cult was worshiping a man named Kefka, who destroyed a large section of the main city and used the wreckage erect a tower. Many lost their lives, and yet all somehow emerged from the tower after his defeat. The only thing any of them had in common was that they were either killed by Kefka himself, or a minion as far as I can tell. I would imagine that's where Torchwick found his new power. Yang was the one who carried you out of the tower, actually."
whiteas: (I don't feel so good.)

"Torchwick kept mine down for almost two weeks, you can handle a couple of hours."

Weiss was trying very hard to sound like she didn't care what had happened. She'd been trying pretty much since she got back because it wasn't something that she wanted to deal with. Showing weakness wasn't something Schnees did if they had the option. The only people she was really letting take care of her were Zuko and Ruby, really, and even then she wasn't listening very well when she decided she had things to do.

"He hit you with lightning, I watched you die, and instead of grabbing you and running and trying to get to a healer like I should have, I tried to kill him. He captured me, I don't know what happened to you after that but I heard a name from one of Torchwick's henchmen and I... think I told Yang. I spent a few hours in the hospital too, even though I didn't die, but I was barely conscious, so I don't know exactly what I said, but she found you. I would've come with but-"

Weiss wasn't even sure she knew how to explain that she's pretty sure she would've just put Yang in danger if she went. She wasn't going to be a liability again.

"I'm sorry, Blake."

Ozpin noted that eye rub and tried to make a comforting face, though the knowledge of what Kefka almost achieved weighed heavily on him.

"Even if we had been prepared, I fear there was not much we could have done. The sheer power that Kefka wielded was not unlike that of a god. I don't know how he was defeated, but I know none from Remnant were in that battle. This was unlike anything we have ever faced before, and I pray we never have to face again. That said, hopefully with Kefka's defeat, Torchwick's new-found power will not be an issue, though I will be monitoring is movements much closer from now on."

"Shut up, Blake."

Weiss knew where she was going with that. The guilt trip was obvious, and Weiss was so used to Blake's attempts to run away whenever there was trouble that she had expected something like that in part. She just hadn't expected how angry it made her when she actually said it. Weiss stomped right up to the edge of her bed, grabbing Blake's hand awkwardly with her right hand.

"His grudge isn't just against you. He's had to retreat from Ruby, from you and Sun and Penny, from all of Team RWBY, and now Ruby and Zuko. The only way that we get through this? Is as a team. If you're gone then Ruby and Yang are the only ones who can fight him off. Ruby and Zuko hurt him when they were saving me, I'd be willing to bet that you're not the only one he'll be coming after. You running away is going to make us and you weaker, not safer."

Weiss knew it was selfish, but she needed to feel safer right now. She needed to know that Blake was going to be okay and she needed to know that they were going to be around each other enough to keep each other safe. It was the whole reason that even though she didn't know where Zuko was right now, she still knew he was following her whenever she left the house, but she didn't complain.

"The only person who failed me was me. Everything that happened after you went down was because I made stupid, emotional choices instead of the strategy that I knew would have the highest chance of getting both of us out of there. What happened after that was because after he captured me I refused to shut up and do as he said. You fought to protect me when I should've been able to protect myself. You're not the only one who's supposed to be a huntress, Blake, this isn't your fault."
whiteas: (I don't get this.)

"I don't know, but I'm going to figure it out."

Weiss paused for a moment. She hadn't exactly admitted everything about her hand to anyone. That it was injured, scarred, how it happened- sure. But there was some nerve damage that was keeping her from using Myrtenaster correctly for more than a few minutes at a time. She hadn't even told Zuko specifically yet, the closest she'd come was asking Mayu if he knew any healers. He was worried enough about her without telling him that Weiss was partially convinced he'd just tell her to come work for him so that he could keep her safe.

"I can make a strategy and prepare you three, but he... Torchwick carved into my hand and wouldn't let me heal it. Parts of it scarred before I could activate my Aura again. The longest I've managed to hold it was just under four minutes and that's if I don't do anything special with it. The least I can do is focus on coming up with a way to stop Torchwick from doing anything against us until I find a way to fix it."
whiteas: (Time to think.)

[personal profile] whiteas 2015-02-15 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Weiss lightly gripped Blake's hand back after a couple of moments, staring into her eyes meaningfully before intentionally taking a slightly indignant tone. Her eyes don't quite reflect it so much as they do gratitude, making it more obvious that she's doing it on purpose.

"Of course I'm not going to give up. I was just telling you.. It might take some time, and until then, I'm going to help in any way I can. Just.."

Weiss's tone got a little softer, "Promise me you're not going to give up on our team or run off and it might make it a little easier."
