[Gojyo stood staring into the empty shelves of the fridge. Vaguely, he remembered being told to go grocery shopping before coming home last night. But, well, that obviously hadn't happened. It was pretty much a miracle he'd even made it home at all, he'd been so drunk. Straightening up and shutting the fridge, he turns to shout into the other room.]

We need to go grocery shopping.

[Hakkai must not have been far, as he half ducks back to poke his head around the doorframe to the kitchen as he offers Gojyo a laugh. Yeah, they probably need to get food, or they'll be eating rice and water for dinner. That's not really all that appetizing to be honest.]

Aaah, you must have forgotten to go last night. [Like he reminded you. Speaking of, he's probably carrying several empty bottles of beer into the kitchen and uncerimoniously dumping them into the garbage can.]

Though I'm almost surprised you made it back.

[That is absolutely an unappetizing thought. Plus, there's no beer. And that has to change.]

I guess I did. [Oh, so that's where it all went.]

Honestly, I'm a little surprised too. My lucky streak must have extended to my walk home from the bar.

Aaah, it's good that it did. I wouldn't have wanted to have to pick you up off of the sidewalk. [But he would have, because that's what husbands friends do. a pause.]Did you make enough to cover what we need from the grocery store?

[He leaves off the implied "fork it over", since if Hakkai's pretty sure if he let Gojyo go shopping on his own they'd wind up with beer and MAYBE food if there's anything left over.]

I don't think the cops here would have let me lay on the sidewalk long enough for you to find me.

I'm pretty sure I did. [He wanders into his bedroom and soon emerges with a decent sized roll wad of bills.] Looks like I did.

[Don't mind him snatching that up ever so delicately as he bustles about straightening up their apartment. Thank you for being a bread winner.]

Then we can go now, and get shopping out of the way in time for dinner.
