Card 15: The devil (backdated Jan. 31) (lfm Nova City raid need healers)
A while ago, one may remember Everyman's previous report, besmirching the good name of all the Guardians. On the video of Vyers, he showed a gigantic demon, yelling in an infernal, guttural, speech about bringing doom to the universe. While the name and intention were a bit far off, the basic concept remained the same. That demon was, in fact, bursting out of the G-corp Archway, wreaking havoc on Nova City.
'Twas the size of a football field, covered in dark-purple scales. The wings were more for decoration than function, as the size likely rendered flight impossible. With cloven hooves and wicked claws, it set about causing mindless destruction. It's face was that of a monstrous goat, twisted into a smile without mirth.
"COME ON! I WANT TO FEEL MORE, DO MORE! SHOW ME! SHOW MEEEEE!"
Here marks the end to the fabulous Everyman plot. Well, climax anyway. Never done Godzilla fight before, so I'll be using the combat rules as noted here. For reference, he's Strength: 6, Accuracy: 6, Life Points: 170 , Mobility: 11.
If you don't wanna use 'em, that's fine! I'll be keeping track of HP in my own, adding a 100 with each additional participant. In addition, a strange curse surrounds the monster. Good guys (regular protagonists) will do full damage, neutral/anti-heroes will do half, and evilz will do very little. A house divided, after all...
This is all highly experimental, and a chance to try a few things, so expect some fails. Still, this ought to be fun.

It had all been just to cure herself of boredom, to give her something to do and hey, help people at the same time. The bake-danuki had been a bit more careless then she normally had been, going along with everything without putting much thought into it. Capturing the target had proven disappointingly easy, but it seemed things were not quite over yet.
And while it was likely this would have happened anyway had someone else given the spirit a helping hand, it was still annoying to be the one that helped it. She couldn't very well let the thing run rampant now, could she? But looking at the towering beast begged a single question: could she even stop it? Chances are she wouldn't have to do it alone with such a big, obvious danger stomping around, but at the very least she had to hold it off until the cavalry arrived.
The time for trickery was past, so she sheds her disguised form, reappearing in her most commonly worn body, as close to she has as a real self. "I really should have seen something like this coming." she says to herself with a sigh. She isn't even angry about it, more disappointed.
Now she had to face someone that knew all she was capable of. That spirit had been swirling around inside of her during her danmaku duel against Koishi, it knew just how much she'd been holding back inside of that building. Still, she wasn't able to just let the thing stomp around all it wanted. Taking to the air, her now brown hair flowing behind her, it is far from difficult to catch up to the giant target. An attack that is intentionally aimed to miss is fired from her hand, soaring past the beast and exploding in the air in front of it, causing a display that, while somewhat pretty, isn't really dangerous. It looks more like a hand shot firework and is, of course, far from all she is capable of.
"You're pretty good at the whole misleading thing, I've gotta congratulate you on that. I actually believed what you had to tell me. To trick a trickster is no easy feat. Maybe I've just gone too soft, started caring about people more then I used to. But anyway..."
She raises a hand over her head, a magical circle appearing in the air behind her. "I don't intend to cooperate with you any further. It is rather embarrassing to be outdone, you know!"
A barrage of blue and red energy blasts follows, a handful of them shaped like little yapping dogs. There is even a sound like barking in the air. Despite how silly it might look, they are designed to leave a mark. Possibly even on a giant demon-thing.
(OOC: I dunno if there is an official way to use this combat thingy so I am just gonna use the linked dice roller and post stuff ooc. Mami's stats are here: http://genessia-ooc.dreamwidth.org/119350.html?thread=2143542#cmt2143542
and her first attack is 'normal' and rolled a 19 on the d20 to hit but only a 7 for damage. With her puny strength of 2 its all of 9 damage. Not the sexiest first hit.)
HP:161. Need moar sexy plz
"THANK YOU, I COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU." Then he heard her rejection, and his voice became imbued with sadness.
"DON'T SAY THAT." Then he was struck, pinpricks of canine lasers sparking all around him. "DON'T DO THAT. PLEASE, DON'T MAKE ME HURT YOU. ONCE HIS SEVENTY YEARS WERE UP, I FULLY INTENDED TO COME BACK TO YOU. YOU GOTTA BELIEVE ME! THERE WERE SO MANY MORE FUN THINGS I WANTED TO DO WITH YOU, AND YOU LIVE SO LONG! DON'T...DON'T MAKE ME CUT THAT SHORT! WAAAAAAH!"
Yes, Mamizou had made a monster cry. Salty, burning tears gushed out of his eyes like a fire hose, intended to spray her down.
(OOC: That works. He's reluctant about hitting her at first, so he'll use Light Attack! 20 on roll + 6 acc + 3 on attack type = 29 to hit, with 16 -5 + 6 damage = 17.)
She was there all along! Really!
The first thing was to signal the squad to regroup and focus on the new threat, a task made easy by the videophones they each held. Ejava addressed Spirit and the rest of the G-Corp assault group over the device held in her hand while she barreled out of the building and after the creature. "Everyman apprehension task force, G-Corp squad, disengage and regroup outside the archway immediately! All forces are to engage the new threat immediately. You'll know it when you see it, if you haven't already."
Finally making it out the archway herself, the Roseblack loosed a thorny Wood-aspected Elemental Bolt at the monster while closing the distance.
(OOC: stats.
I usually prefer http://invisiblecastle.com/ for asynchronous online rolling, personally, since it records the roll so you can link it.
8 on a Normal Attack for Ejava's bolt with 7 Acc is a hit.
1d20+5 = 6+5 = 11 damage)
Oh crap, she's alive! Let's fix that. (HP: 250)
"HEY! YOU WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE HERE! YOU'RE NO FUN AT ALL; BEGONE!" The creature stomped , plunging its black body through the earth to shoot up like an evil geyser, whipping at Ejava and tearing through the ground.
(OOC: Heavy Attack for a 9-3 = 6 for a miss)
Hey! Its people! (HP: 103)
Mamizou doesn't have time to complain before she's shot out of the sky, sent spiraling backwards, a combination of surprised and just grossed out. That is going to take FOREVER to get out of her hair and even longer to get out of her tail.
There's no time for fancy quips before the cavalry shows up. Hopefully they don't think she's part of the threat. The fact that she seems to be fighting against it should, hopefully, be all the proof she needs.
"If you intend to rampage around and destroy things, that isn't really fun for anyone expect yourself, you know." Its debatable if the thing could even hear her, or care if it could. But it would certainly notice what happened next.
Don't mind that magical circle that looks vaguely like a pentagram forming in the air. It isn't the demon, its just the flying raccoon at work. "Dunno how well spell cards will work in a fight like this. Only one way to find out!"
She held a blue orb in her hand which rapidly split into sixteen smaller ones which formed into a circle surrounding her. Each of those little orbs changed shaped to look like a little stick figure with its arms wiggling. Behold, the tanuki's gingerbread man army! They begin to slowly 'march' in the air towards the demon, but this time each one is itself firing tiny little bullets from its flailing hands. Hope no one on your team is intending to take to the air, Tepet, because Mamizou intended to make sure it was rather congested with colorful bullets. But are those little specks of energy enough to even hurt the thing?
(First duel: Primatism Danmaku Transformation. Yes, all spell cards have weird names. 9 on a heavy attack -3+7 =13 so a hit for 16 on the dice +5 +2 =23 damage.
HP: 227
That sound was him unhinging his hellish jaws as he expelled a cloud of noxious gas, intended to mess with one's olfactory senses. Anyone who inhaled it would almost certainly wretch.
(Stink bomb = normal attack, 8 on the roll + 6 for a miss)
that's GENERAL Tepet to you, squirrel girl! HP: 110
For the umpteenth time, she cursed whatever force had seen fit to separate her from her Legion; a squad of Dragonblooded officers would have made short work of the demon, but for now it was just her, the raccoon-girl, and whoever would actually manage to regroup and attack the monster.
She readied Thorn as she drew near, Dragon Blade Beneficence empowering the oversized blade with the might of all 5 Terrestrial elements: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and of course
HeartWood. Reaching close combat range, the General lashed out at the tendons of the massive creature's ankle, aiming to hobble it.(Heavy Attack with daiklave, 7+7-3=11 and since attacker apparently wins ties in this system, that's a hit!
2+5+5=12 damage.
Any ideas/preferences how to handle environmental penalties/damage for this fight? Dragon-Seared Battlefield is probably coming into play next.)
Squirrel girl should totally be her superheroine persona (HP: 215)
(Normal attack, 17 + 6 acc = 23, hit! 1d20 + 6=15 damages)
Thats tanuki girl to the both of you! (HP: 103)
"Traitor? Don't be absurd." She shakes a finger at the beast. "You're actively destroying the city I live in. Really, that is a much bigger betrayal then anything I could do." She didn't really think taking the moral high ground would do any good, but it sure made her feel better."
Even with the thing not playing by danmaku rules, there were still customs to be followed, and that meant not declaring two spells in a row. There was also a more practical reason for it, that being that she needed a moment to recharge before unleashing that much anime into the air again.
With care to make sure that her carpet fire stayed firmly aimed at the creature rather then the woman who had taken to assisting her, she fired a small spray of colorful bullets. Yes, some of them look like frogs. Don't lick them, you'll regret it.
(Normal attack of anime lasers: 12 on the die for a hit doing 17+2 so 19 damage.
(HP: 196)
"STOP IT, THIS IS ALL WRONG! IF EITHER OF US DIES, I WON'T GET TO DO THE THINGS I ALWAYS WANTED TO! ONLY YOU CAN DO THEM, SO WHY ARE YOU BEING SELFISH!? I HATE THAT!" He sucked in air, then roared. His natural vocal cords were loud enough, but he was amplifying it with his mastery over the five senses, delivering a sonic stab straight to her.
(Normal attack for 25 to hit, dealing 22 damage.)
Fluffing taking damage as needing to use perfect defenses cause Exalted has weird "tanking" (HP: 95)
Her anima flared brighter still with the next Charm, complete with the ethereal black thorns of its full display. The terrain erupted into a mass of twisting, grasping vines, thorny brambles, and noxious spore clouds; a Dragon-Seared Battlefield entangled the creature, hindering its every movement. The vines and other hazards seemed to shift out of the way just in time to leave Ejava herself complete freedom of movement, a benefit she'd be able to extend to those under her command should they, too, seek to engage the beast in close combat.
(No attack, just -3 environmental penalties to Mobility and Accuracy like we decided on Plurk.
Ejava's anima flux is now at max, which makes it dangerous on combat timescales. It could start doing something like 1 backlash damage on melee attacks if you want, or you could just say teh devol's hide is too tough for it to matter)
Thanks for ruining the city even more Ejava. (HP: 195; dot)
On top of that, as he put his foot down, he noticed that vines were wrapping all around his legs. "THAT'S NOT A PROPER EMBRACE. LET ME SHOW YOU." In full defiance of her attack, he leapt up in an effort to body slam the general. The flora that had allied itself against him unbalanced his ascent, as he came crashing down, splayed and vulnerable.
(Would be a smash attack, but the stat disparity that now exists makes that impossible, so no roll)
Tired, but I'll crank out a mini tag just to keep things moving (HP: 81)
The sound based attack sends the raccoon tailed woman reeling for seconds after its ended. Thanks, jerk, you just destroyed ANOTHER pair of glasses. She really is going to have to bill you for all of these! At least the glass fell to the ground instead of into her eyes.
"...I don't really think thats a proper embrace either." Things are getting crazy, a couple more glittery anime laser birds couldn't make them any more odd. Here, have some!
(Animu laserz as a normal attack with 12 on the roll inflicting 5+2 so an amazing 7 damage!
Ms. Mamizou, the boss wants to see you. He's concerned about your numbers. (HP: 187)
"OOH, HOO! STOP, THAT TICKLES! KICKING A DEVIL WHILE HE'S DOWN; THAT'S LOW, EVEN FOR YOU!" He considered his options about how to knock her out while prone. Smell, Sound, Touch...taste, of course! He concentrated, forming a line of eeeevil magic between himself and her mouth. What would be a truly terrifying taste, such that she would retreat and preserve herself for future shenanigans? Ah, he knew just the one. He conjured up the information for a root vegetable, with an earthy, awful taste. Yes: kale. And butt. Buttkale.
(Trivial attack:
25 for a hit!)

It isn't a very exciting job, no, but as the old saying goes- Better safe than sorry, and while she couldn't case less about the citizens of Nova City; she has no choice but to put up the front that she actually does.
With that settled, it was time for her to leap into the fray and she arrives with her kamui activated; her scandelously badass form, if you will, with her sword in hand and screaming down from the sky like a meteor. Gracious; they were not exaggerating about this beast's size, were they? And the tanuki's and general's attacks are just as impressive- Flashy, at least.
That aside, she soars as if she were fired from a cannon with flared, white chi blazing from her body. She twists in mid-air, then comes down with both heeled feet aimed toward the beasts face that, sadly, completely misses the beast, but splinters and concaves the ground directly below her.
She raises from her crouch, looks the beast in the eyes, then the stone-faced Nova Guardian points her weapon toward it.

A little too late to intercept the attack on Mamizou, perhaps, but no less dramatic!
(Kiryuin's Statsuki. Smash Attack: Swing and a miss.)
HP: 286
"ANOTHER ONE OF YOU GRIM BITCHES! BUT I KNOW YOUR TYPE. DRESS TO IMPRESS, BUT INSIDE IT'S ALL ICE AND FRIGIDITY. ALWAYS WARM UP BEFORE YOU MESS WITH ME!" He took a deep breath, and then...not a whole lot.
True, he wasn't breathing fire. But he was trying to overpower Satsuki's will in making her feel as though she was burning.
And whoa, he couldn't do it. Being upside down must've really messed with his focus. That or she was just preternaturally strong in the head. He'd wear her down eventually.

It's only natural to assume the head is a weak point even if it is extremely dangerous (or so she thinks) to be in the fire; swift movement allows her to evade the attack and this time she homes in with several slashing attacks toward the side of his cranium rather than dead-center; should it fail to cut, perhaps the weight behind the strikes will be enough to do some lasting damage.
"And you are the type that wastes his breath." Get it???
(Heavy Attack for 16+6 Damage)
HP: 263
"GRAAAGH! SHARP OBJECTS, MY WEAKNESS! HOW DID YOU KNOW!?"
While she descends upon his gashed head, he'd try and gore her for good measure.
Normal attack for ereven damage
HP: 109
So that did a good amount of damage, did it? This is quite possibly an improvement; she did feel a little more in tune with Junketsu than usual, and moving fast- Though not fast enough to avoid getting punctured by his counter-attack and sent flipping backward as blood spills from her shoulder.
Thankfully it could have been a whole lot worse, but it hurts- A lot. She can't hide her cringing.
".. Faster."
She has to push herself a bit to put in more damage into her next attack, the Guardian moving quick as she rushes about in a 'star-of-david' pattern; slashing with her sword with each pass.
(Heavy Attack forFourteen Damage.)
HP: 248
"IRRITATING LITTLE GNAT! I'M GONNA SPLATTER YOU AGAINST A BUILDING LIKE THE PEST YOU ARE!" He concentrated, righting himself and trying to make eye contact.
But he couldn't! Agh, just like a pesky bug, she was zipping too fast.
HP: 109
Intending to bring him back down to her level, she leaps and goes for the demon's frontmost left leg, slowing down enough to hopefully meet her mark and keep out of his radius. As she grows confident about meeting her mark, Satsuki forces Junketsu to draw more from her to release a massive blast of chi to increase the damage of her single slash as she rips by him and stand back to.. Uh. Backside.
Were this a samurai film, she'd sheath her sword afterward, but it isn't so she stands there looking cool instead.
"Unlikely."
(Normal Attackfor22 damage.)
HP: 225
"URGH, OH YEAH! THIS MUST BE THAT JAPANESE ART OF ACUPUNCTURE. BUT IT'S ONLY MAKING ME MORE STRESSED OUT! YOU LIKE SHARP THINGS? I'LL SHOW YOU SHARP THINGS!"
He sucked in breath, puffed his cheeks, and then solidified his fur, before shooting in out in a storm of devil quills. If they made contact, he'd form a distant physical connection between himself and his latest annoyance. Then some real fun could be had.
'Could' being the operative word, here. As he prepared to burst his skin, he merely shot downwards into the ground as a vine tugged him, throwing off his aim considerably. Damn this accursed flora!
HP: 109
Too bad the shoulder wound hurts so much; if she were at 100 percent this would go much faster- While she may not like it, she's going to have to depend on the others to make up for it.
As expected, Satsuki closes in to go for the opposite front leg, clearly not put off by the inky, devilish 'blood'. However as she closes in, a stray quill intecepts her path, forcing her to shift to the side- The attack may still connect but clearly not with the same amount of 'umph'.
"If you put as much effort into your combat discipline as you do your banter, perhaps this battle would end differently." she notes with mild amusement.
Normal Attack for 8 damage.
Noooooooes HP: 81
The look that crosses the woman's face might be comical in another situation. Her eyes cross as if someone had jabbed her in the stomach, and her face turns an unpleasant shade of white. Thankfully she manages to avoid anything more unpleasant then that but the attack certainly had one obvious effect on her...utterly destroying the concentration she needed to actually unleash a useful attack. She doesn't particularly feel like opening her mouth either, so she can't greet Satsuki.
So instead she throws out a half hearted attack, a handful of colorful little energy animals flying from her hands to poke at the big ol' jerk.
Weak attack of half-heartedness:
13 on the die
for All of 6 damage!!
HP: 209
"You think so? Thanks Satsuki! Maybe I'll give that a..."
His devil brain snapped.
"HOLD ON, YOU AREN'T TRYING TO HELP ME! YOU JUST HURT ME! I MAY BE A TRAINED LIAR, BUT DAMN IF YOU WOMEN AREN'T A HUNDRED TIMES MORE DEVIOUS! THAT MAKES ME SO MAD, AAAAAH!" He was yelling so loud that the atmosphere seemed to blur, being buffeted by his dominion over noise.
Alas, just loud was all it was. Talking this much must've been making him lose his voice; maybe Satsuki had a point.
He turned his horned head towards Mamizou. Don't think he didn't see what you did there. "YOU KNOW, I ALWAYS LIKED YOUR ANIMALS. I WANTED TO DO SOME KINKY STUFF, BUT I FIGURED YOU WOULDN'T REALLY APPRECIATE IT. JUST GIVE IT SOME THOUGHT, ALL RIGHT? CLEAR YOUR MIND..." Towards that end, he'd try at another mental assault designed to maker he feel a tad migraine-ish.
But her mind refused to change. "WHY CAN'T I GET INTO YOUR HEADS? WHY OH WHY!?"
