OPEN: The Labyrinth of Attleton
WHO: Open!
WHAT: Attleton gets consumed by a monster-filled maze. Issues ensue.
WHEN: Saturday Feb 28th, Early evening.
WHERE: Attleton City
WARNINGS: Violence, chaos, possible character death. I'll add other warnings if it comes up.
A fairly unremarkable Saturday passes in Attleton without much event, or cause for notice. As the sun begins to set and late afternoon sets in, though, everything starts to change. What begun as the distant sound of inhuman roars and hisses from the Arena progressed on to minor earthquakes, as any unfortunate enough to be in the Arena at the time would see thick walls of stone rising up high around them to form the centre of a maze.
The labyrinth begins it's steady spread across the city. Slowly, at first, but gradually picking up momentum as the buildings are engulfed and surrounded by a maze of twisting, branching and winding corridors, all remarkably hard to distinguish from one another. It aimed to trap all residents in it's wake, disorientating them so the hunters within might be able to find easy prey.
The roars, the serpentine hissing fade into an eerie, oppressive silence, the fall of dusk giving the walls long, dark shadows. A few hours remain until nightfall.
[OOC: This is an open catch-all, so everyone feel free to tag each other and have some 'dear Gods what just happened' fun.
There are medusa and minotaurs lurking in the labyrinth - I believe Timmy'll be handling confrontations with them if that's what you're looking for. As a side note, they appear human until they attacked or are threatened, at which point they show their true colours.
OOC post for questions is right here! And as mentioned, if your character is an Attleton resident who wants to avoid the mess, feel free to assume the maze somehow skipped them.]

With a small sigh he had spent the past ten minutes just aimlessly wondering around, trying to find someone that could probably explain what was going on. Instead he came across someone else who looked just as lost.
"I would ask if you are lost to, but I think that much is obvious."

At least Yugi looked unharmed, even if he also looked completely lost.
"That would be correct...I believe this thing caught a fair few of us at the wrong time."

"You mean the maze? I get the feeling is we keep to the left we might find the exit."
no subject
"Merci... and oui, this wretched maze. I have no idea where it came from, but it's certainly proving a problem," he replied. "Keep left, hm? That might just work."
no subject
"I hope that someone figured out what happened exactly. I mean this didn't just appear suddenly because it wanted to, there is a reason, we just have to find it."

Now, she planned on seeing how Attleton would respond to such chaos. This time, it was set so that people would immediately know her children had arrived there. Minotaurs, medusas, and lamias. After all, she fancied the classics, just as Zeus and all the other pathetic pagan gods enjoyed watching them wreak havoc against humanity. This time, people will see Eve walking around Attleton. Just looking at everyone, not really panicking.

So far, she was still on the first step of her plan. At least, for once, she had a plan:
1) Find the treasure!
2) Get out of the dungeon!
3) Profit!
... Really, though, the first step was probably the problem here. And there wasn't likely to be any treasure, either, not that she knew that right now...

Medea enjoyed the fact that there were many humans who willingly toured the labyrinth in false hope of treasure and the like. Perhaps it was because of the gold loaned to her sisters, by their dragon kin that lured helpless humans in. Regardless, it was fun to see them squirm and lose themselves inside the maze. If only the labyrinth itself wasn't alive, then they may get out before her sisters and brothers could get to them.
Too bad.
But it was fair game for her, just like it was back during the time of King Minos. So now, it was time to hunt. Time to play. Time to turn human body's into stone and steal their souls for their beloved mother. Everything, for their mother who reads their minds and controls their lives.
"Are you lost... too?", she hissed from behind the girl whom flew inside the labyrinth.

"Perhaps. Or perhaps I'm simply looking. I'm pretty sure I can escape with one of my spells in a pinch, after all."
Something about her word choice seemed... Off, somehow, to Medea. Like this woman wasn't talking about learned spells.
no subject
"Spells?", she said, almost surprised. "Do you mean like, you know, magical things?", she said a bit worried about how the other girl spoke. Though, it wouldn't surprise Medea, during her time, humans were well learned in all things magical.
Sorry for the delay! x_x
Of course, the spell she was speaking of wasn't bardic in nature. That was the thing, dealing with a non-human.

Medea sat there. Feigning an ankle injury. She had sensed the young woman coming, and Medea had to quickly stash the statue behind one of the tall hedges. No one had to know. At least, no one living.
So there she was, her eyes, filled with tears, she looked up at Yuuki almost mournfully. "Are you one of those...monsters?" The one like her?
no subject
"No, I'm perfectly human." She said twirling as if to make a point before taking a step closer. "What happened to your ankle?"

He sort of does wishes he had a sword, but his is in Kuchen, and the best he's got at the moment is a metal pipe. At least he's used to mixing in fists and feet in his fights, in contrast with his Strahl candidate friends. Though that might not help very much.

Another victim, another sob story. From afar, Medea had already caught sight of Ed. It was just all about catching his attention. Turning back into her human form, she took a step back, and started running towards Ed. She messed her hair and ripped her jacket to pieces. She ran and ran until she finally slammed her body against him. All the while, screaming in panic. "HEEEEEEEEEEEELP!"

At least that's what he hopes, and he follows the hisses, one snake curled over his shoulders, that he's talking to as he pets it on the head. "It would be nice to see something surprising for once, don't you think?" A hiss. Yes, but I wouldn't expect it or hope too much. "True. I guess it might even be unlikely, even."

"Hi there", Medea greeted as the young man approached. "Are you new here?", she shrugged. It was almost like she was welcoming the man into Attleton. If only, it wasn't to his death, that she was welcoming him into, perhaps it would seem almost genuinely kind.

Worried out of her mind in case she gets found out as someone with a boy's body dressed in girl clothes; check.
Realizing that since this is a new world, maybe she can start over and live as a girl all day; not yet. Wait for it.
She's already lost by the time she realizes it, not yet aware of any possible monsters in the labyrinth. She yells out in realization, that might come out more shocked than she intended. Hopefully no one mistakes it for someone in danger. "Ah!"

Still, it was quiet for the first fifteen minutes in. She had her sword at her side and was walking calmly enough through the Maze, wondering what might be inside of it. These things were usually built for a reason....
