[Mayu is home from work. He's glad that everyone is home. He decides to give out his gifts as soon as possible.]

Happy Valentines Day

[ He gives chocolate to his brother, since that's sort of a family tradition. Umetarou doesn't get anything from girls. He also gives some to Chiyo. It wouldn't be fair to leave her out.]

Happy birthday, Mikoto-san.

[ Mikoto also gets chocolate, and a single red rose. He knows nothing about the romantic meaning. He just thought red was a better color for Mikoto than pink, and those were the easiest things to buy.]

[With it being not too long after his actual birthday, today hadn't felt like a birthday for Mikoto. Mainly, he had stated otherwise because it went well with his usual flirting. He hadn't thought anyone would remember or take it seriously, but since they had, he was beaming at the attention.]

Th...thank you.

[He's use to getting chocolates, but the rose has him blushing a shade that rivals the vibrant flower's. Had Mayu picked that out, knowing what it meant...? Feeling incredibly moved, and embarrassed because they weren't the only two there, he clutched the flower to his chest, eyes tightly shut.]

I promise, Mayu! I promise I'll protect this!

[With the same delicate care he gives his figure dolls, he places the rose down for now, so that he can take the guide. It's unquestionably the most adorable thing ever and he puts a hand to his mouth and covers a squeal. Even the handwriting is cute! And he used their fake names... Moved to the point of happy tears, he holds it up, running around to show Nozaki and Chiyo how great it is and how ecstatic he is.]

Look! Look! Isn't MayuMayu super talented?! Look at how cute he drew her!!! MayuMayu, thank you! [He runs back to him...and realizes what he's doing at the last second, takes a step back, and scrambles back to where he was.]

It's...the nicest birthday gift someone has given me.

[Even Kashima, his best friend, always gave him chocolate. So he meant it.]

Cute. [ Nozaki has a pleased face on, snapping a couple of pics when the gifts are given and Mikoto from Mayu. Mikoto would probably be upset that there were pics taken, but they were being taken for a reason. HE HAS TO HAVE THEM.

Nozaki had bought the cake and a couple of other dumb things that made Mikoto scream with embarrassment. okay, okay, he bought him an underwear and shirt combo at the mall. and of course some chocolates for the day.

once the gifts were exchanged, Nozaki went to stand ]

I'm going to head outside for a moment, I'll be back.

[ That Mikoto is pleased with his gifts. Mayu doesn't need to make the effort in saying more. He's actually blushing over that unbelievably adorable reaction. He has the urge to hug Mikoto, but he doesn't want to ruin his drawing.

He's wondering how his brother knows Mikoto's underwear size, but decides not to ask.]

[With everyone else gone off doing...whatever they want to do, Mikoshiba considers doing the same. A lot happened today, and while none of it was really bad, he's tired, and he needs to recharge. But Mayu hasn't left yet, and his presence is still one that confuses him for several reasons. Nozaki's words come to mind, causing him to retreat within himself a little. He knows he probably should say something, but how is he supposed to when he doesn't even understand it? He opts for a safer topic instead.]

You should go to sleep. It's late.

I should but can't.

[ He's not sure why he's still upset over everything that's happened lately. His emotions are interfering with his sleep, and he's frustrated with himself. Mayu is starting to resemble his brother during deadlines.]

Brother won't let us. Instead of meddling, he should be focusing on his own love life with Chiyo-san.

[ He says the last part rather loudly. He may be dense, but he knows his brother. There's a good chance Umetarou can hear them. What most people would consider blatant may still be too subtle for the mangaka to understand.]

Even he won't try to wake us if we can go to sleep really fast--[Oh. Oh. He realizes Mayu's intentions. He's given up hoping Nozaki would realize it on his own. If Mayu wants to take matters into his own hands, he'll play along, for Chiyo's sake. When he speaks, it comes out loud and stilted--like his first time doing a cold reading.]

Poor Chiyorin. It's obvious to everyone but Nozaki knows they're meant to be together! They would make...a really cute couple!!

[ Mayu nods at that. Trolling his brother is actually cheering him up a little. That and he's thinks his brother is starting to return Chiyo's feelings but hasn't figured it out yet.]

She's crazy about him, and my parents keep saying he should find a girlfriend. Not many girls would understand him as well as Chiyo-san.
