Good evening.

[ Augusta seems a bit more stressed than normal here, but she's certainly polite. ]

Assistance may be required - or advice, at the very least. I'm not sure how many of you have noticed, considering Attleton is hardly frequented by visitors, but we seem to be having an, ah, situation with architecture change here.

Namely, there's a maze that has not been here before Sunday night.

[ She moves the camera a bit to show the walls outside her window. ]

Having been stuck in my home here for over 24 hours, I'd rather not be here indefinitely. If anybody has any ideas how to get out - or reverse this situation -, that would be much appreciated.

[ She's deemed wandering right into the maze unwise at least.Before she shuts down transmission, she can be heard grumbling something like 'to think I chose this city for being calm and harmless...' ]

[He's spoken to Augusta before, and with the safety of using his communicator, he's able to look smug.]

Really? You can't handle something as simple as that?

It's obvious. You have to send out a party to clear the end of the maze, where they should be able to take out whatever's controlling it.

[ That sounds nice enough in theory, if it wasn't for one tiny little problem. ]

I don't suppose you have an idea how I should gather a party while I'm stuck in my apartment?

[Your City Guardian is currently wandering through the twisting passages, looking a little frustrated at the mess.]

I'm trying to work out what caused this mess, but so far have had no such luck... I do apologise for all this. Hopefully I can deal with it as quickly as possible.

[Crap. He hadn't even thought of that factor. His eyes widen, and there are small tears in his eyes due to his embarrassment.]

That's...it's not a problem! Just make an announcement asking volunteers from other cities to help out and they'll start the the same point as a group!

I can't believe you didn't think of that...

[ She shrugs. Those are male jobs in her world, okay? ]

I'd be satisfied to find someone who can guide me out safely, really. It's unpleasant to be trapped in such a small place.

A bodyguard? I can't refuse to protect someone so adorable. Maybe if you beg me enough, I'd be willing to help.

[ The offer, however irritatingly phrased, earns him a small smile. ]

I appreciate this, but are you sure you can make it through this maze safely?

[ At least someone is out there, trying to help. That's good to know. Better than just thinking you'll be lost and forgotten forever, surely. ]

I know it's not your fault that this is happening. I've heard strange noises from outside though, so am I right to assume the maze is not safe?

[Emboldened by her smile, he scoffs, shooting her a smile.]

Don't be ridiculous. I'm an expert at these sort of things.

[Meaning hundreds of hours in dungeon runs. It's the same conceptually, right?]

[ It's worth the effort to interfere]

W--What?! Why not?!

[He's trying to show off here.]

[ WELL. She had her doubts considering Mikoto had problems even leaving the Bay, but this interjection from whoever this is confirms her worries then. ]

I'm not sure who your friend is, but I'd rather not you get yourself in danger for my sake then.

He's Mayu-Mayu and he's...Nozaki's little brother and--

Nevermind that! [Now he's just getting embarrassed. And maybe just a tiny bit relieved. Being stuck alone in a maze didn't sound like much fun.]

Forget I offered! I didn't want to help you anyway, I'd be better off fighting monsters, or something actually dangerous! You...you're both so dumb!!!

[He clenches his eyes shut, upset.]

Mikoto-san, this isn't a video game. Don't break your promise.

[ The thought of Mikoto endangering himself really frightens Mayu.]

I'm sorry, Miss. He's solved mazes in simulations, but has no real combat experience.

[He can't help but feel somewhat responsible for this mess, and he wanted to at least reassure his people that he was doing something to try and help.]

Indeed. From what I have seen, there are monsters lurking around the inner parts of the maze in particular. They appear human until provoked or until they chose to reveal themselves. I've fought a couple of them already.

[ It is nice to see Mikoto has people looking out for him here, Augusta notes. She gives a nod. ]

That is more experience than I have with situations like this, but it's not enough to warrant going into that thing, yes.

[ She's just going to entirely ignore Mikorin's insults here, deciding he doesn't mean it anyway. ]

My name is Augusta. I'm pleased to meet one of Mikoto's friends.

[Mayu remembers? Mikoto blushes, smiling uncertainly, getting flustered and stumbling over his words for an entirely different reason.]

Don't be an idiot. I never break a promise!

[He's not really happy Mayu brought up video games, but it's normal to play some amount of games, and it's not like he mentioned the ones that are really embarrassing, so he cheers up, and addresses the next part to Augusta.]

If you ever want to learn, I can teach you! One of the places I work at has simulations like that, and I could give you a discount if you visit.

[ Mikoto is delicate. He needs people looking out for him.]

I'll hold you to it.

[ Now he's worried about Mikoto throwing himself into danger to impress a pretty girl.]

I'm sorry you are stuck. I may not be the guardian of that city... I'd be more than happy to help you should you need it.

[Why yes she is more than willing to get lost so long as she helps someone.]

[Chihiro switched on, he didn't know there problems in this city. He always thought it was the most quiet out of them all honestly. So right now he was unsure of hoe to help.]

I'm sorry, but I don't have a clue... But I guess I can always find out.

Any information would certainly be appreciated.

[ Augusta sighs - why can't cities just stay cities, like they are supposed to? ]

Although going into the maze might be dangerous. I seem to be safe indoors, so I suppose I can hold on longer as well.

Do you think you can handle the maze and whatever is in it?

[ Wait, that sounded harsh and judgemental, let her just... ]

I'm just asking because as it is, I am fairly safe, just... stuck, so it's not worth taking exceptional risks over.

[ Yes, she's definitely staying indoors, thanks. It is now sadly a little too late to wish her housemate had done the same. ]

Camouflaging, huh? I trust they don't wear the visitor necklaces though?

[ If they did, that would be too much camouflage, clearly. ]

How strong are they?

That is true...I don't believe they wear the same necklaces we do, so that is one way to identify them. However, unfortunately the ordinary Attleton residents don't wear them either.

That depends. For a demon such as myself, they were not too much effort, but there could be others that are stronger. I cannot say for certain just yet.

I am capable of at least dealing with any situation should it arise. [Considering she deals with monsters in her world she thinks she can handle it really.]

It helps that my job requires me to handle things in the city I look after, but in this case I'm more than willing to help other cities.

But wouldn't you need supplies if this is to go on for say the whole month or something?

[He was wondering if there could be a program that could help, but even he knew that might take some time.]

Presumably... Luckily, I'm not exactly short on supplies yet. There is a Taco-stand downstairs that seems to still have quite a bit of food left, even if my own kitchen starts looking empty.

[ Living off of Tacos is not the funnest idea ever though. Not to her, anyway. ]

I see... [ Augusta really, really wishes to go back to dealing with mundane non-supernatural problems. ]

I wonder if it's coincidence that I have yet to encounter any of these monsters myself or if they simply do not enter the resident buildings. I should likely barricade my door just in case.

Once I get out of here, I'd really be interested in seeing those simulations for myself. I trust your skill to explain to me fully.

The problem is that giving you the address of my location might not be much help anymore when the actual streets have vanished....

That makes sense, but I am sure there are other ways, like saying what is around you or something.

At least that is better than nothing. I'm sorry I'm not of more help. If I knew something like this would happen, I could have come up with some sort of program to help guide people.

It might be worth a shot - the maze doesn't have many distinguishing features, but I suppose most of the buildings that were nearby me before should still be in the approximate same distance. Without roads, they themselves will have to be landmarks.

Isn't it impossible to predict how to navigate this in advance? There weren't exactly any blueprints for it.

That's right. I mean I haven't come in yet, so I can't really know until I'm there, but I assume the buildings didn't just up and vanish.

Well it suddenly happened, right? of course things like that wouldn't have a blue print.

My point exactly. You couldn't have been prepared.

If my house is still there I'd expect so are the others. The only way this could not be the case would be if the only houses that remain are those with people inside... but that's an off-change, isn't it?

It would be an off-chance that is true. So I guess finding landmarks is actually the best idea, but I don't know the city well enough to know what those are.

I guess, but I do wish you luck in not running low on anything until it's all sorted.

If you come past a market, you're close. This isn't really precise navigation....

I can try to bring you supplies once I work my way around this place. I do not believe I've heard of anyone being attacked within their houses so far, at least.

It's helpful at least. I haven't come across one yet though, but that might take a while.
