I wish I could be of better help, but like I said, History's not really my strong point.

The biggest problem is with more exotic pets. The ones that are cute and cuddly while they're young, but grow up to be bigger and more active than their owners anticipated. A lot of countries have laws preventing people from having exotic pets, but some people still find a way.
