001 》Azure World [Action]
[Waking up in a new world should be a shock to anyone. A revelation that should be hard to fathom. However, the woman who exits the pod was in no mood to be riddled with shock or awe. The past few days in her world just left her exhausted and numb about everything. Now that she is no longer in Nagatsuki City or in the good graces of her siblings... Izumi feels lost and without purpose, while brimming with rage behind her calm expression.
Izumi did everything like any new arrival at Genessia; she acquired the starter money, reviewed the pamphlet, and saw the video of Weiss at the Bay's exit. She did everything but use the communicator. Izumi took to the streets of Genessia, blending in and concealing her naginata in a barrier to make it invisible to the naked eye. So many thoughts were racing through her head as she wandered aimlessly.
Then there was that speeding driver who almost hit another new arrival not too long ago. Only this time, the new arrival was aware and isn't having the best of days to care about niceness. Izumi erected a glaciate barrier between herself and the incoming vehicle that appeared instantaneously. The car crash was loud enough to be heard throughout the entire block. The crowds clamored to see what happened, while Izumi simply stood there untouched and unmoved.
Any non-native Genessian in the area who witnessed the accident would only get a glare from Izumi. A look of both cold aggression and curiousity]

What and intense gaze. ]
....
Are you okay there?
....
[ -- and what the heck happened? ]

[Izumi responded with a stoic expression but with a graceful voice. She looked away, turning to see the wreckage she caused not too far from her. A part of her is starting to feel remorse for harming a stranger, but it is being muted out by her anger]
This is only an unfortunate traffic accident. Nothing more.
[Izumi walked two steps closer to Ishtar, with hands in her coat pockets. Izumi wears the Genessia necklace over her own with the fish design, and a corner of the starter pamphlet was peeking out of her coat pocket. It's obvious now that she just arrived here]

[ She didn't really register how the person got safely out of that, but whatever the case was, she didn't question it. There were too many inexplainable things in the world. ]
I see. Do they need help?
[ Ishtar didn't recognize the young woman at all, so everything including what he was carrying did tell her that she was new here. ]
Are you perhaps a new arrival?
no subject
I have just gotten here, yes. Why do you ask? Do you have something to offer?
[Izumi thought if this was just Ishtar's way to start small talk then she could just walk away. But Ishtar might have something to offer. Like something that would give Izumi a distraction. A bar to drown her sorrows in, bounties to pour all her frustrations to, or a job offering to help her start a new life here.]
no subject
No, not really-- well help I guess if you need any information on the place. A lot of people here come from different places, and worlds.
[ She replied tilting her head a bit. She knew of bars and other little things around the city. She could certainly offer her directions. Ishtar also liked making allies and friends rather than enemies. ]

[Izumi puts her hand on her hip, still looking unconcerned that the police might arrive any minute. She could just turn invisible anyway]
But you look like you could tell me what purpose do we serve in this place. "Making the best of it" is as hollow a suggestion as this city.
[Duty-bound as always, Izumi prefers having a purpose rather than having a normal life.]
no subject
[ She chuckles some. Ishtar really didn't want someone to get into trouble for something like this, even if she's not sure what happened. ]
Well, I'm not quite sure myself. I've been trying to figure that out. So far, it seems like we're here to amuse the people in charge, since they keep bringing trouble everywhere, like people who want to destroy cities, etc.
[ She furrowed her brows. ]
It's not really a good place to be anyway... it's just as bad as the last place I got sucked into. The only plus is, it's not trying to use me as some experiment subject.
no subject
Right, but Cinder's not here anymore. You know what? Screw it.
He comes up behind the stranger and lets out a low whistle.]
Very nice! [He claps slowly.] But are you sure you should still be here? That's probably not going to fly as self-defense.
no subject
You sound like you know that from experience.
[A simple hello would suffice, but a little sass works well for greetings too.]
I'm so sorry...
That would require being in court or in law enforcement, and neither are really my style.
[There's a muffled sound on the other end of the phone. He turns his attention to the receiver and does an utterly unconvincing impression of a distressed citizen.]
Yes, operator? Oh, it was horrible! There was a woman with short black hair and a car was just trying to drive by and she just-- I think it was some sort of magic, or-- Oh god I think she's still--[He shrieks and scratches the mic before disconnecting the call. Then he turns back to the strange woman.]
The good news is, the police here are fairly incompetent. You have at least three minutes to make your escape.
[He watches her with a shameless grin and a mischievous glint in his eye. Time to see what kind of person she is.]
Don't be, because I am also sorry orz
Her frown loosened after Torchwick's theatrics, and a dark smile curled at the corner of her lip while her gaze remains cold. Before she spoke again, Izumi lets out a quiet chuckle.]
My my. You really shouldn't have done that...
[Izumi took her naginata from seemingly out of nowhere, and folded it with a effortless twirl]
But I should thank you for the warning at least. While I have at least three, you have less than a minute.
[Izumi turned around and vanishes from sight, hiding nearby. Unbeknownst to Roman, Izumi sets up a barrier around him. If he tried to walk away, he'll be blocked by an invisible wall that is getting smaller and smaller]
no subject
While I appreciate the warning, I don't--
[His boot bumps up against the edge of... nothing. He frowns and attempts to sidestep it, only to find himself running into another wall.
Damn.
He lights a cigar and keeps an eye on the smoke.]
I see you've got all sorts of tricks up your sleeve!
[The smoke curls up against the edges of the barrier as it closes in on him. Good news: he knows how much space he has. Bad news: it's not nearly enough. He's heard that death isn't permanent here, but he's not keen to test that.]
Consider this, though: when the police do arrive, right now they'd just find a wreck. Keep walking and they'll find a murder victim too.
Sorry for the delay. Was out of town
[Izumi replied bluntly from where she was hiding. Police sirens blared in the distance, getting louder as the barrier gets smaller around Roman]
Why did you approach me? I'm sure you had your reasons besides having a death wish.
no subject
I doubt you'd have time.
Anyway, I was intrigued. Too many people around here lose their heads over every little thing, and it's getting pretty old. I wanted to see what kind of woman could wreck a car and walk away without flinching.
no subject
[Izumi responded casually. When Roman revealed his intent, it was enough for Izumi to accept it as a passable answer. The police cruisers have stopped to begin conducting the investigation of the wreck. Half of the officers on scene attended to the driver, who is still alive, but unconscious and injured. While the others walked close to Roman, standing mere feet away from him.
However, the police officers just stood there looking around as if Roman wasn't there at all. He was invisible inside the barrier. The officers retreat for now and attended to the injured driver and try to calm the witnesses. Izumi didn't really feel like herself today. Could be the new world, but she feels Roman's answer would suffice to let him go.
Izumi moves the barrier away from the street and into a dark alley before she set him free. She walked out from the shadows of the dark alley, hands on her coat pockets and glaring down at Roman]
Now that you have, are you satisfied?
no subject
No reaction. He narrowed his eye and lowered his cane. They couldn't see him, could they? He glanced back toward the strange woman, his face lit up like a kid in a candy store. Oh, the things he could get away with--
But the barrier was only moving, so he had to settle for pulling a rude face or two at the officers as he was swept back into the alley. He straightened up and grinned down at her, hands folded neatly on his cane.]
Not even close.
[He offers her a handshake.]
Roman Torchwick. I'd say I'm sorry for the first impression, but considering the great show you put on... [He shrugs.] I'm really not.
no subject
Izumi Nase.
[She didn't bother to hide under a different name, even if she suspects Roman to be using an alias. Even if her family name means nothing here, it's still a name she's proud of]
You don't look like the type to be sorry for anything, but at least you have some manners left in you.
[She lets go of her grip on Roman's hand, shoving it back in her coat pocket]
What now? Given you've almost put me in trouble. I'd say you owe me a drink.
no subject
Not even going to try and deny it. But hey, being a remorseless scumbag doesn't mean I can't be a gentleman! Which is why we can get drinks on me, even though I'm fairly sure that attempted murder makes us even.
Did you have somewhere in mind?
Sorry for the slowness orz
Any bar that isn't a hole-in-a-wall would do.
