OPEN: Schnee Company Security Tryouts, P. 2
WHO: Security testers (will be asked oocly), Security job applicants (open), anyone who wants to watch (open)
WHAT: Given the inability to check credentials in Genessia, Weiss's interviews are a little different than normal. This one? It involves staying alive for 10 minutes with someone she knows can fight.
WHEN: (Backdated for IC reasons) Friday 3/20, 8am-10am
WHERE: Attleton's Battle Colosseum
WARNINGS: Violence!
The Colosseum seemed incredibly public a place to do interviews, but the reality was that there was no guarantee that there wouldn't be stressful situations for fighters. If they had public or performance anxiety, it would be just as bad as someone who couldn't handle the sight of blood or someone who couldn't fight. The crowd was a benefit to add pressure. Plus, the Colosseum had the added benefit of a consequence-free death. They would just wake up in the hospital. Even if she didn't particularly want to see anyone die, it was one way to make sure that anyone hired could handle whatever came at them.
As applicants entered the stadium. While Weiss had sat out during the last round of applications, she wasn't in the stands this time. She was down on the ground. She wanted to fight, to test at least some of these people herself. The other matches she would observe carefully, but she hadn't gotten a good fight in in a while. She'd been given the all-clear to use her hand again, and she was going to. She couldn't find Armin, which was a problem, and she would definitely be talking to him about it later (once she.. figured out what happened to him).
[ OOC: So here's how this is going to work. If your character would like to apply for a security job at Schnee Company, they need to reply to this post with the subject line "Applicant." After that, one of the testers will reply to it and the characters will fight. The character must survive the fight for 10 minutes, and may be ranked hire as an applicant if they actually win their fight. If they die or are knocked unconscious during the fight, they will automatically wake up in the infirmary, but be disqualified from getting the job. They can disqualify themselves by stating that they yield during the thread.
If you want to be an audience member, you can make your own thread, handwave and mention in later threads, or yell things in the middle of fights to distract applicants. If an audience member goes onto the field during someone else's fight, they will be considered a bystander and the applicant must protect them as well as themselves. If the audience member wins the fight for the applicant, the applicant is disqualified.
AS THIS IS THE SECOND TRY-OUTS, IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HAVE YOUR CHARACTER APPLY FOR THE JOB, YOU MUST REPLY TO THIS LOG! Security positions will be closed after this until there are further openings. Please only reply to this post if your character would actually want the job. ]

Even though she tended to take on a more pacifistic and widely preferred it overall, she did enjoy a good spar or two. That, and she figured that for all of the abilities she had, they could be utilized to protecting others as opposed to harming them.
With a small breath, her eyes opened and she smiled, waiting to see who would be her proctor for this exam.
sorry for the delay
Levi walked into the arena and observed his opponent from further away first. He didn't underestimated his opponent, no matter how a person looked. Even this one didn't look like a fighter to him.
"Attack when you're ready", he said as he closed some of the distance.
you're fine! ♥
"Very well," she remarked in an eerily calm voice, as if she already got into the fighting mindset. Her hand was outstretched and within a matter of seconds, from thin air a rustic sword appeared in her hands.
Her foot dug into the ground before she took off running with her weapon at the side. Just before Sertoria ran into Levi, her form disappeared and reappeared at a moment's notice to aim a strike for his back.
♥
Attacking from behind, however, was normal even in their world. That's why, even if narrowly, Levi managed to turn around and block the attack with one of his own swords. Good thing he had pretty good reflexes.

Again in just a very short time, Sertoria was able to use her abilities to produce two perfect duplicates of herself, sword and all. They all charged after Levi again, aiming slash after slash at him and circling around him as if he was their prey.
Would he be able to spot the original, even with this obstacle in his way?

Thought instead of actually trying to run, he took some speed from the wall his wires were previously attached to and started spinning back towards the trio.
Sorry for the wait!
A smile made its' way to her countenance as invisible tendrils were produced from her back and brought her away from the spinning. Then, she gripped the hilt of her sword, making her advance to his form as she aimed a slash again for his back without a single word said.
likewise, sorry!
Levi turned in the air and blocked her sword with his again. She was closer to hitting him than he would have liked, that's for certain. He might as well try and see how her physical strength was by putting some pressure on his sword, seeing if he could make her back down.
it's okay! :3
An idea formed in her mind and she produced a copy of her sword in her other hand. She planted her feet firmly into the ground so as to withstand the pressure he produced. Her usual soft eyes narrowed in determination as she bit down on her lower lip. To add on to her first sword, her second sword was swung against his with her own arms adding pressure on his sword.
"You're good..."

"Whenever you're ready."

"All I have to do is survive?" He could do that. He hoped. Or else this would be incredibly humiliating. Her weapon, he guessed, meant close combat, but there was one way to find out if she could do more than use a sword. Firing the grappling hooks at the wall, he let himself be pulled away in a loop, keeping an eye on her while he did.

She wasn't like Mercury. She wouldn't actually kill him- not for a test. But she made the final decision about whether he had the job or not, so it wouldn't be necessary if they got to that point. Weiss watched him as he moved up. The trick with Weiss was that her glyphs could do quite a lot, and so could her Dust. What she lacked in physical force, she made up for in versatility and other types of attacks.
She'd prefer to keep the fight on the ground, though, so that was what she was going to try to do. Without moving from her spot, Weiss held her non-sword hand in front of her, a glyph forming where Jean's grappling hook had latched onto the wall. With a flick of her wrist, the glyph seemed to reject the hook, pushing it right out of the wall. Almost immediately after the action had started, Weiss had run forward and shoved her sword into the ground, a pillar of ice shooting straight up into the air with the intention of forcing Jean's 3DMG to wrap around it. If it works, she'll be launching herself in the air with another glyph beneath her feet to deliver a sharp stab directly to the wire with the tip of Myrtenaster. If not, well.. She'll have to see what Jean does.

Jean thought he had been prepared for anything, but he really hadn't imagined a pillar of ice to appear out of nowhere like that. Weiss could control the environment, and that put him at more of a disadvantage. He'd have to adapt. For the past few weeks, he had been delving into the library and any books he could find on magic. Not only would it possibly help him in this fight, but it gave him an excuse to avoid the others at the apartment. Generally, there were believed to be four to five elements, ranging from the ice Weiss had just used (or water), to fire. He wasn't sure if Weiss's glyphs were limited to ice alone, and that telekinetic whatever the hell it was, but he would remain even more careful now.
He noticed how she had launched the pillar, so if she tried shoving her sword in the ground again, he'd be ready. He may have been caught off guard, but if he didn't have the reflexes to deal with something like that, he'd be dead by now. Cursing loudly, he launched the other wire into the pillar, standing on the ice surface. While Weiss was busy stabbing the other wire, he ran up halfway and then let the wire pull him into a loop that would bring him down with his blades aimed to try and hit the sword out of her hands with the force of the blow.

Once upon a time, Weiss might've dropped her sword at such a move, but she's trained up quite a bit since that Boarbatusk had disarmed her back in the classroom. That didn't make her physical strength heavy enough to push him off directly, which meant she was sent flying back, off of the ice pillar. Only a few seconds of free-falling occurred before another glyph appeared, this one at her feet, stopping the fall easily and allowing her to launch herself back at Jean. Her sword was precisely aimed, attempting to get just between the break and hand grip on Jean's sword. As she moves toward the ice, she shifts her weight through her core to flip and get her feet on the ice beside Jean. If it goes as she planned, the leverage of her entire body moving toward the ice while she swings her sword in an arc up and away from the ice would hopefully force the sword out of his hand.
Applicant (in a manner of speaking)
When she was given directions to the Battle Colosseum, she ended up smirking as she got an idea. First impressions were key after all. After getting off at the bus stop at the appropriate time and taking care of what paperwork needed to be taken care of, Adeline unfurled her wings and shot up into the air like a bullet. Showboating, she flew into the open roofed arena, flying around the stands, mugging for whatever fight fans were there before landing in the middle and striking a confidently amused pose.
"Sup?"
