[ She's used to explaining the real workings of geisha to ignorant foreigners, so it's oddly refreshing not to have to convince someone of their image being wrong, while explaining what is real. ]

The word means artist, and we're traditional Japanese entertainers, trained in dancing, singing, playing instruments, tea serving and entertaining people with these, as well as conversational, skills. However, I am afraid that I am currently not dressed for the part.

There is always a use for entertainers out here. I mean when the bad does come around, it's people who can make us smile that helps us through it. At least this is how I see it.

Well, I would not say it is the fault of time-passing that is completely at fault; for example I am particularly appreciative of traditional arts.. It is more that the denizens hail from various countries from various times so I would say that it is more 'niche'.
