[In truth, it was fortunate that Athrun has things to do this weekend. It'll keep him from thinking about his mother and getting himself down, and from wishing that he could go and put flowers on her grave.]

[First of all, Athrun landed a job as a computer hardware engineer for a company in Nova City. He's a bit rusty, but all the necessary skills are still there. More importantly, he now had money to find a place to live that wasn't a hotel.

It didn't take him long to find one, and what a place it was. Thus, for a few hours this afternoon, Athrun can be found moving his belongings into suite number 2002 at Heaven's Court Apartments. Since he's still a new arrival, he doesn't have much, but he has gone out and bought some things he'll need for work, such as a computer and a home office desk and chair, as well as some necessities, like a bed, a kitchen table, and groceries. For the time being, he leaves the door open -- though he's not exactly a social butterfly, he understands how important it is to get to know his neighbors, and this will let them stop by should they choose to do so.]

[B: Nova City]

[Once Athrun has moved in, he leaves to walk out into the city proper. Nova City as a whole intrigues Athrun like nothing else here does; he's never seen a fair amount of the technology here and he wants to find out as much as he can.

So, for now, Athrun is wandering the city, occasionally stopping into a shop to look around. Should he see anybody wearing a necklace like the one he received when he first arrived, he'll try to get their attention.]

Ah, excuse me. Do you live in Nova City, by any chance?

[Though people he's met will get a more personal greeting -- provided they made a favorable impression upon him.]

[Muse was just going about her brand new days as a celebrity singer. She is still a little depressed now that she's all by herself in this world, but the show must go on so the fairy keeps smiling and trucking on. She found a place to live in Heaven's Court not long ago, but she's been so busy and lives higher up than Athrun that she doesn't know about his arrival.

Going to enjoy her day off from work, she left the massive apartment block, and saying hello to the familiar faces she bumps into. A little ways down the road, her attention was caught by Athrun's question directed towards her]

Eh? Uhm, yes I do.

Ah, good. Sorry for interrupting, but I just moved in myself.

[For what it's worth, he does seem apologetic that he interrupted her time to herself.]

I was hoping I could find someone who can give me some advice on this city, that's all.

[It is pretty uncommon for someone to be moving into the higher levels of the Apartments; so it doesn't take long for such an occurrance to reach Satsuki Kiryuin's ears. On the other hand, a woman of her position would have ended up hearing about it anyway but whatever.

The possiblity that draws her to him is that he's doing something worthy of a four-star payroll and she wants to know what it is, so Satsuki has made it a point to drop by after work. She arrives at the door still in uniform- The dress could be described as some sort of combination of a school uniform and a military uniform, with a navy blue coat-cloak over her shoulders and a decidedly militant hat atop her head. Said hat sports what may be recognized as the Shield emblem of the Guardian City Headquarters and her presence possibly foretold by the sound of her heels clacking on the floor.

Eventually she wraps her knuckles upon the wall.]

[When Athrun hears the knocks, he happens to be in his living room, surveying what has already been put in, what was already in when he moved in, and what else he needed to add. He has been at it without a break for quite some time, as well.

He makes the short trip to the front door to his apartment, and pauses when he sees who is standing there. A girl, who appears to be his age, is there, dressed in what is unmistakably military clothing. He also notices the hat, but can only guess at what it means.]

...Ah, hello. You must be one of my neighbors.

[In contrast, Athrun is wearing civilian clothing. Since the weather is getting warmer, he has ditched his jacket, so he appears wearing a plain, green T-shirt tucked neatly into black pants. His appearance is very neat, though.]

[Oh, someone on the younger side? Things just got even more interesting for the Guardian. She first responds with a nod of agreement.]

Yes; Satsuki Kiryuin. I reside one station below.

[Judging by her somewhat flat expression as she speaks, one might assume that she's not the type to smile very much. Surely a blast at parties.]

I was wondering how long have you been here in Genessia.

[ Emerald looked around, like she was expecting him to be speaking to someone else. ]

I used to. I moved out recently. Why?

[Chihiro had been quietly on his way towards some stores to gather a few computer items he had been keeping an eye on for a while. With a bag in front of him and hearing something he assumed was speaking to him, he looked over.]

A-Ah, no I don't. Why do you ask?

[Athrun has heard the name before. He knows now that his suspicions were confirmed -- that she is the Guardian of Nova City. Even though he suspected it, he's still surprised. He doesn't show it much, but his face is somewhat more expressive than Satsuki's.]

Really? I had no idea that I was living in the same complex as this city's Guardian.

[Hm, that seems like a rather mundane thing to ask. Especially considering her position.]

A bit shy of three weeks. I showed up here around the 20th of April. I realized I wasn't going to get home any time soon, so I figured I should get myself settled in, and, well...here I am.

[Wait for it.. Wait for it... Upon being identified, a slight, upward curl of her lip forms.]

Well done; someone has been doing their homework. I'm afraid I have been kept so busy that I have little time to welcome newcomers anymore. Thankfully Miss Schnee, as you likely already know, has made quite some headway on that front.

[Still there isn't much she can say about being a Guardian at the moment; so she doesn't go into great detail about it. However..]

So in just three weeks you have managed to gain basic knowledge of a foreign world, obtain a four star or greater occupation, and find a suitable quarters for yourself; you must be quite the exceptional person.

Well, I'm rather new here myself. I wanted to see if anyone could help me get familiarized with Nova City. Places to check out, things to avoid...things of that sort.

[Upon that answer, Athrun looks a tad embarrassed.]

Ah. I'm sorry, then. I was hoping I could talk to someone familiar with it who could give me some advice.

[Interesting. It looks like the title of Guardian isn't just for show. She's very perceptive.

Athrun dare not give the whole truth -- he has no idea how the people of this realm will react to the idea of genetic engineering being used on humans -- but he can at least divulge some more mundane information.]

Back home, I'm a soldier. One of the basic skills of any good soldier is the ability to adapt to whatever the situation on the ground is. I found the right sources, asked questions I felt were relevant, and here I am.

As for how I'm able to afford the apartments here...well, I was placed in an accelerated education program in my younger days. Simply put, I have a college education, and I put that to use here and landed a job as a computer hardware engineer.

You can make of that what you will.

Throughout his speaking, he maintains eye contact, as well. If nothing else, he has the eyes of a soldier -- sharp and focused.]

[Satsuki likes what she's seeing and hearing. It's too bad she never noticed him earlier or she would have hired him herself. But still, it seems his services are for hire in the hardware department. Her brows raise slightly; in a 'not bad' manner.]

Fascinating. You have moved faster than even I have when I first arrived.. It has been about a year for me. I shall get to the point: You have two skills that I am particularly interested in. Being an adaptive soldier, and being well versed with computer hardware.

I am working on a robotics program that allows denizens interested in law enforcement to pilot special tanks. You have some experience piloting arial, sea, or land vehicles, correct?

[ Sertoria is just heading over to where Schnee Company's Nova City branch was located for her daily shift. She's lost in her own thoughts that seem to go a mile a minute, however she takes notice that someone's trying to get her attention. So, she stops and pivots on her heel. ]

Ah, no -- I am sorry, sir. I live in Holly Ridge in Genessia. Do you have a question or need assistance, sir?

Ah, no no it's alright!

[Muse chuckled sheepishly, waving her hands in front of her to signal that it's all good. She doesn't see his question as an interruption of her free time. Helping others is just in her nature]

What can I help you with?

Oh, really? What is it you do here?

[He finds it odd that someone wouldn't live here yet would frequently come here.]

I do -- predominantly aerial combat machines. I've never used a tank, though I've battled alongside them.

[The offer's an interesting one...but at the same time, Athrun has been burned by political leaders twice in the past. He's going to be a bit more cautious.]

I'd have to hear more about these tanks before I make my decision, though. As well as the requirements that need to be met to use them, and how they'd be used in more detail. If I can't make sure for myself that the benefits outweigh any possible risks, then I can't do much.

[Or rather, he won't. He wants to make sure that the government and law enforcement are authoritative, not oppressive. He also wants to feel out the kind of person Satsuki is a little more to make sure she isn't going to be a repeat of his father or of Durandal.]

[There's a brief pause before Athrun answers. He's surprised by the number of people he's encountering here who actually live in Genessia. He had moved to Nova City partly to cut down on his commute time, even if he wasn't required to be physically present at Aster five days a week.]

Ah. Well, sort of. You see, I'm a newcomer here and just wanted some advice on getting to know the city better. Assistance would be appreciated, but it's also no worries if you can't help me.

Ah, well, if you say so.

[He breathes a sigh of relief. Good to know that he found someone willing and able to help.]

Well, I suppose first is some places of interest. Any restaurants or other establishments you like here?

[Better get food out of the way first. Athrun has no experience cooking for himself, and two years of military rations or not, he'd rather not have to live on frozen dinners.]

I-I'm a programmer. I help the people of this city with programming problems they might have.

[He works in other places that have computers as well, but Nova City is the one where he gets the most requests.]

I also help out the Nova City Guardian from time to time as well.

[A thoughtful sound passes Satsuki's lips following Athrun's expertise, then after taking in everything else, nods her head.]

Of course; I intended to go into greater detail once you have settled yourself in, and I do not expect you to make any sort of commitment until then. That said I would like to offer the basics.

[The guardian reaches into then withdraws a disk-like object from the coat pocket- it appears to be some sort of datapad. After it's flipped open the projection of the tank in question is revealed. (Or rather it's extremely similar in design).]

As you may or may not know, the denizens of Genessia can be seperated into two catagories: The ordinary, and the extraordinary. Those of the ordinary class have some difficulty keeping up with others in terms of taking defensive measures during disasters or performance in law enforcement in several areas. In an effort to overcome this gap, I have created this 1-man tank. It is still in it's prototype stage; built with several utility tools and combat weapons.

The issue, however, comes in it's complexity. I would like a soldiers opinion on how it handles, how easy or difficult it is to steer and perform acrobatics with, and the like. It is capable of scaling walls, so your aerial expertise would still be of some use to me.

[He wasn't expecting it of a girl (or so he thinks Chihiro is a girl, assuming he's wearing girl's clothes) younger than he. There's a bit of something to talk about, though.]

I've got programming experience myself, though I'm generally more into the hardware aspect of computers than software. I've made some simple AIs in the past before, though.

[He also takes mental note of Chihiro saying he sometimes works for the Guardian. They may be working together some time down the road.]

That's a tough one since I don't know you. If you're a bar crawler or a space junkie, places to check out are going to be pretty different than if you're into planetariums or tech, I mean.

[Athrun leans in for a closer look. Like the projection that welcomed him to Genessia in the first place, this is technology which doesn't exist in his own world. Additionally, he's never seen a tank that looks like that.]

...I have to admit, this looks interesting. And it does bear a resemblance to the BuCUEs I'm accustomed to seeing in action, albeit on -- well, on what I imagine is a smaller scale.

[He may even have an interest in using one himself, since his mobile suit wasn't brought with him. At least, he'd be interested in piloting one until he can get his Gundam here. Once that happens, it'll be back to what he knows best.]

I could probably come up with a list of things I'd expect from a combat vehicle and see how it stands up to them. As I've said before, I've fought alongside tanks in attempts to secure more real estate for my forces. I've got my own expectations for land combat units.
