[ Action / Fayren ]
[ Morning ]
[ If Lucy had butterflies the previous evening, by morning they had metamorphized into hornets. She'd been telling herself for a while she was going to see the guild, and could only validate putting it off for a month, so that she (and Natsu) could settle in. Temporarily staying in one of Fayren's Inns, that morning she was unnaturally quiet, until she finally announced that she wanted to go. Anyone in Fayren was bound to encounter Lucy (and Natsu at her side most likely) as they are out and about in Fayren. Feel free to approach, although her attention will be distracted at best. If not at the 'guild', she'll probably go to the market or the lake to look into rumors that Natsu heard about 'Nessie'. Maybe they'll get a sighting! That'd be exciting. ]
[ Late Afternoon ]
[ Regardless of how her trip to the 'guild' ended, Lucy didn't head out again until mid to late afternoon, reviewing the details of the job that was claimed. It sounded simple enough, just catch a thief and his thieving parrot. Easy peasy lemon squeezy right? So with Natsu and Wendy in tow, the celestial mage put as much mental space between herself and thought of the Guild as possible, focusing on the job. Surely an apparently distracted party of three would look like a tempting target for a thief and his thiefbird right? Heck, with two people who had amazing senses of smell, it was in the bag. ]
And believe it or not, we still have more crab from the last job, even after I sold a bunch to the fish market. I don't think I can think of more ways to prepare it.
[ She was chuckling to her companions, to all appearances looking like a common traveler, ripe for the picking. Here thiefy thiefy~! ]
[ OOC: The Late Afternoon prompt is a closed thread for her teammates, Wendy and Natsu, but feel free to run into her in the morning or anywhere else~! ]

[ Whatever had confronted Wendy was something the bird clearly didn't want none of, but LUcy wasn't about to let it get away! Meanwhile, the goop that hi Wendy's shoulder starts to harden and burn, she might wanna get that stuff off. And be glad it didn't land in her face like it had tried to do.
The whatever he is was about to throw another wad of goop at Natsu, but he was moving a little too quickly to get a good shot off, an inhuman shriek echoed out just as Natsu managed to grab it by the head and drag it like a ragdoll. HISSS, SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Might as well be an S.O.S, because two more of those things are starting to bubble up from the ground at Wendy's feet. Heads up! ]

Wendy look out at your feet!
no subject
Just then, Natsu's voice rings out. She looks down, letting out a small shriek and stepping backwards as the figures rise.]
Wh-Why are there more!?
[Best to take care of them before they fire goop. She gets into position, making sure her attack won't hit her allies, then jumps into the air.]
Sky Dragon's Wing Attack! [She launches two whirlwinds—one from each hand—at the creatures. Since they don't appear solid, she's hoping whatever's making them up will scatter.]
no subject
Wendy! Are you okay? [ Silly of her to ask, Wendy was pretty darn capable. She can't use her weapon since the parrot was tied up in it, so she reached for one of her keys, just in case she needed to summon Saggitarius. ]
[ Natsu's captive was, meanwhile, having one helluva headache getting smashed through so many trees. When the dragonslayer appeared distracted though, it slashed a claw at him, rah, which, if he misses, is probably going to mean more bad times for poor Mr. Muddy Thing. Those mudlike beasts weren't going to stop reforming until it was dealt with, though. ]

If you value your shitty existence you're going to start talking NOW.
[Suddenly flames explode from Natsu's hand and the crater he is in with the creature grows in diameter slightly. He trusts Wendy and Lucy to handle the other two. Lucy's stronger after all.]

Sky Dragon's Roar! [A large tornado is expelled from her mouth, moving swiftly in the direction of the monsters. They both try to dodge, but one is too slow and takes a direct hit. Since the blast was stronger, it should take longer for it to recover. The other creature is more fortunate—the tornado only grazed its arm, knocking off some goop.]
no subject
KHAAA THE MONEY ISSSSSSSSS in the cabin ssstill, take it, Take it! [ That's what he wante to know right? Right? ]
[ The goop immediately started to reform again, and the creature flexed its arm briefly before its body solidified, becoming less like mud, and more like stone, promptly hurtling at Wendy. Simple wind attacks aren't going to work on that one - Lucy was quick to summon Taurus, knowing he or Loki would be of best use in this situation. She -could- summon Loki, but you know, she was really, REALLY tired of hearing his flirting in the middle of battle, and Taurus had been behaving. Plus, he was stronger than Loki so moo-cow it is! She shouldn't even need her stardress form for that, as her spirit charged into battle without a single lewd comment at her, proceeding to smash into the mudman that had reformed. ]

[Fire is not going away. Struggle as much as you want. This dragon is not letting you escape.]
Tell me how you knew we'd figure you out by scent! Who told you about that!?
no subject
Do they get stronger each time we break parts off their body—or completely scatter them?
[Granted, the one she blasted earlier seemed to retain its mud shape, but there was no telling when it would change its composition, too. Fortunately, with Taurus around, the two shouldn't pose any more of a threat than they did in their muddy forms.
Speaking of forms: If the boss—and perhaps its henchmen—can shapeshift, what about a certain flying creature? Given how it has multiple scents on it, it's difficult to discern whether it can transform as well. Hopefully it's just a bird. If not, they'll have another opponent to deal with.
Regardless, the parrot isn't being too problematic, so it's best not to worry about it for now. She focuses on the one she grazed earlier, summoning strong gusts of wind to knock it away. She might need help smashing it.]

Hisss - she told me, she told me! The mistress said so, she knows you~! Aaugh, it burns, let go~!!
[ There it talked, have mercy~! Lucy shook her head on the other hand, glancing at Wendy. ]
I don't know - we don't know anything about these creatures... whether they're sentient or being controlled by someone else or anything.!
[ Seeing the creature transform from mud to stone or clay or something, and then hurtle at Wendy, Lucy let out a startled gasp, relaxing immediately after when Wendy managed to dodge the thing. It wasn't discouraged though, continuing to advance on Wendy. The gusts of wind were only slowing it down though - Lucy made a noise in her throat before turning towards the nearest tree, looping her whip around it in a knot so the bird can't get away. ]
Stardress! Taurus Form!
[ One magical girl transformation later, and she's sprinting over to help Wendy with the stone beast. Taurus's efforts on his own enemy were keeping it from joining the fray, but each time his axe sliced through it, it just reformed again. ]

[The grip tightens considerably but the fire dims a little. Just a little though. His ears also keep track of WEndy and Lucy's battle but for now they seem to have things covered on their end so he keeps most of his attention on the interrogation.]

Back to the stony creature. She steps back each time it advances, summoning wind to keep it away. She needed to recharge soon, but stopping would mean it could move more quickly and perhaps attack.
While checking her surroundings for any obstacles, she hears Lucy and looks over at her just in time to see her transform.]
Lucy...san? [This "Stardress" reminds her a lot of Erza's magic; did she teacher Lucy how to do it? Judging by the name, it's likely she has a lot of power.] I'll leave the creature to you! [She stops in place and begins eating the air around her. If any of the three need assistance, she'll be ready within a minute or two.]
no subject
The Mistress is the Mistress! [ Gak ease up on that grip there buddy. He refuses to say anything more than that though, either out of genuine cluelessness or sheer stubbornness. It's also going a little... uh... melty. ew. But it's got a more solid body that looked actually normal beneath the mushiness, like it was just the disguise melting away, and he glared at Natsu for it. ]
I'm not stupid enough to give her identity to her enemies. I had my orderssss. [ He hissed. Those orders being to collect all the monies he could, but to what end, he won't admit that either. Grimacing at the tighter grip, he scowled as he heard his minions falling to a pair of girls of all things. Eww. Cooties. Okay girls and a cow-man, but still, GIRLS. ]
[ The possibility that the minions were commanded by earth manipuation or magic was the most likely, and the mage nodded slowly at Wendy. ]
Maybe... [ But no, Erza didn't teach her a darn thing, this was all Lucy. ]
Got it!~ You go back Natsu up! [ Since Taurus' stardress was her strongest one (shown to date anyway) she skidded in front of Wendy to give her the time she needed to recharge. Lucy curled her hand into a fist, punching the beast, not sure if it would do much. But cracks did start forming in its stone body, and she focused her attacks at the center of those cracks. Two, three more hits and it crumbled into gravel, leaving Lucy to step back and eye the remainder. Don't get up don't get up. ]

[He flashing the creature a far too bright of a grin. Things were only going to get worse for it in the end.]
no subject
Why is your mistress making you and the parrot steal from innocent people? [It isn't like it's difficult to find work here, after all.]
no subject
Innocent? Ha! No one's innocent here, kid. [ Harrharrharrharr ack. ] What are you gonna do, flay the skin from my bones to get your answers? That's what my mistress will do if I say a word to your kind, filth.
no subject
[Now how they got their captive to the authorities was a different matter entirely.]
no subject
[...Wait, might there be another way to learn who the creatures' master is?]
...Lucy-san, do you know if Gemini would be able to copy this thing? [Of course, she'd have to be able to summon them, and they'd have to be able to copy the creature AND acquire its thoughts. If they were successful, they wouldn't need to continue the interrogation. Of course, they'd still have to figure out how to take the creatures in, but that would come a little later.]
no subject
"Pretty cocky huh? My mistress will come for me, just you wait!"
[ In fact he looks expectantly around as if she'd pop up out of nowhere and whisk him away. Instead, a random tumbleweed blows past, because they migrate to situations like this. ]
"... ..." [ Um. He shook his head. ] "... a-actually instead of me you should worry about your little friend there! Right now I'm sure my golems are -"
[ -getting crushed into gravel? Because here comes Lucy as Wendy addresses her, jogging up with a tight grip on the whip-leash for the parrot, still in her stardress, with Taurus trailing along behind her (for obvious reasons). At least he wasn't saying anything? ]
Huh? Oh... well, maybe, but I can't call on Gemini today. [ Unfortunately. ] But we can have Taurus carry him, as far as getting turning him in to the authorities. [ More importantly, why is she getting a dirty look from the man who plays with dirt? Rude. ]
no subject
Yeah I guess we'll have to get answers out of him that way instead. Though better make sure they have the right kind of cell to hold this earthy asshole.
no subject
As for the cell conundrum...]
They probably have cells prepared for magical or inhuman entities. [She tries thinking of other possibilities.] If the creature was summoned or created using magic, maybe he'll disappear if his mistress is caught and locked away. [Finding her was another story, and it was doubtful she'd come for the creature.] Hopefully we'll learn more about her once we turn him in.
no subject
Ahaha, Wendy's probably right. I'll bet they have anti magic prisons here. [ Though if he was summoned or created using magic-- and Lucy had her doubts very much -- he'd only disappear once he was locked up anyway. ]
Taurus, could you give us a hand? [ She glanced at said summon spirit, who stepped forward to collect the hapless 'victim'. Lucy glanced at the two dragonslayers, grinning. ]
Well, shall we go?
no subject
Yeah all good here. Lets go and get our reward and maybe find out what this guy is so determined to keep from us.
[As soon as he said that though, he tossed a brief glance in the direction of the house they'd left those two kids and their caretaker. He'd have to think of a way to cheer them up next they went to meet with them.]
no subject
...Speaking of, what if— ...Nah, there was no way those three were related to the creatures and parrot, right?]
