genessia | 008: An Upcoming Change [Anon Text]

[Since Weiss' party, the issue of how many people really just wanted out had started to get under Zelos' skin. He knew, hell, he'd known since he got here, that there was literally no way for him to get home - and even if there was, he'd sooner stick with his life in Genessia over his life back there. Weiss had said she'd keep him in mind, but...how many other people really did? What about all these self-righteous Guardians who were vowing to get anyone and everyone back?

Finally, he'd had enough of pondering (well, seething would be a more accurate world), so he sent out an anonymous message to the whole of Genessia.]

So, I've been listening in on some of the speeches the wannabe Guardians have been making. Also, been here quite a while, and the ton of 'wah wah wah how do I get home' comments is really starting to do my head in.

Throw me a line here. I can't seriously be the only one who can't or doesn't want to go back to my old world, can I?

[Once he'd sent it out, of course, he immediately regretted it - especially as he half suspected the people who knew him well enough would be able to recognise him from the way he typed. Well, it was too late to do anything about that now.

...Wow, they sound like total assholes. What's the point in even trying to save people like that? Gotta be honest, the other nobles back home were pretty obnoxious as well. Shallow, catty, never actually cared about people beyond their precious reputation.

Surprised you guys didn't just try to run for it and let the titans handle them, but...that's kinda a jerkish thing to say, right? I mean, I don't really think I can take the high ground here, considering.

Yeah...a chance to live. That's what I think as well. As I said, I died back home, and even if I could go back I'd just rather just stay here. Make a better life. Pretty sure I don't deserve the second chance, but hey, I'll take it.

Whether it's a good or bad thing depends how much you didn't want to think about that stuff, I guess.

Even if we did do that, there would be no where to run to. All we have left right now as far as civilization goes are the two walls that remain standing.

That is tough.... Everyone deserves a second chance if they really reflect on what they did the first time. That's why.... I'm okay with being stuck here... I just wish... Eren came back...

Yeah, that would put a damper on that plan, huh? Damn... sounds pretty rough. Still no reason for them to treat you guys like that, though.

You really think so? Pretty sure if their first chance was a mistake, giving them another one seems a waste of everyone's time to me.

No, there isn't, but that's just how it is back home.

Of course. Especially if the first time was just a mistake, as long as the person means well, I believe they should be given a second chance. But even with that said, I know how cruel the world can be, so I can also say that it's probably not likely to happen.

I would do anything for Eren. He is the world to me.

...Maybe you're right about that. Hey, as I said, not exactly going to throw my life away again here when I've really got no reason to. It's...pretty good. I mean, for the most part, can just forget about all the junk that happened before I woke up here.

That's sweet... It's good to have someone like that.

All I can do now is protect the peace that is here. Protect the lives of those stuck here that can't fight... And more than that....

I will protect the innocence of a child's life. Not many of us from my world had a childhood and we were forced to grow up faster than anyone else. When your world is on the verge of death, you have no choice but to fight.

It's either fight and live or hide and die.

Maybe I should get around to that...I mean, I watch out for the people I know, mostly.

Gotta agree with you on that. Kids are supposed to be innocent, they've done nothing wrong, you know? It's not like they asked to be hurt.

The world is cruel... At least mine is. We don't have a choice in the matter. I'd rather die fighting off titans than at the hands of a human.

But this world.... As long as it gives us new life that we don't get to have normally... I'm going to take advantage of that.

... Guess it just bothers me that people are so quick to try and get home, that if they do find a way we'll all be forced out of here, you know? Everyone'd be so happy about how suddenly they're all free of this place and no one'll take a second to realise that's not what everyone wants. I mean, people are pretty selfish when you get down to it.

But would we really be forced out? I would think they would give us the option to leave or not, but I guess that is a possibility.

Dunno...I'm hoping they'll give us the option. Or at least, not forget about us whilst they look.

Weiss is pretty on board. Got her to agree not to completely overlook us during her research, at least.

That is a start. I work for Weiss, so I don't think she'd just force us out if we don't want to if they did find a way out. Still, despite those who are okay with staying here, it would be good for people who do want out to have the opportunity.

You work for her, huh? What's she like to work with? Can't say I've had much to do with her outside that conversation.

...Yeah, I guess it'd be best if everyone could go or stay freely as they liked, but those guys do seem to be in the majority here. To be honest, I just wanted to whine about them for a bit.

I work for security, but she's not bad to work for. I don't mind her. It's really the only thing I'm good for.

That's fair enough. If that's what's best for them, why not? Let them do as they wish and we'll do what we want.

Well, if you're a good fighter, that'd make sense. I do café work, pretty good for meeting new people, and my boss' is lovely guy.

Sounds good to me. I hope, even if a lot of people run home eventually, a bunch of us'll be able to stick around here and keep living our new lives.

This place has given me more reasons to live, even if that sounds strange. It's made me realize how precious my friends are; although I didn't exactly forget that either. It's... made us closer.

I'd turn the world against me if it meant protecting Eren and keeping him alive... At one point, when I thought I was going to die, I thought that I had nothing left to live for before I realized Eren wouldn't want me to give up.

Now I just... want to make this a better place for them. All of us deserve a place to live a somewhat normal life after all we've been through. Two of the people from my world here are.. well... dead back home.
