So+ if I'm figuring this o+ut co+rrectly, living in places co+sts 'mo+ney,' which is variable based o+n a number o+f different and so+metimes inco+nsistent facto+rs. And to+ get mo+ney yo+u have to+ o+btain emplo+yment, which pays mo+ney also+ in highly inco+nsistent amo+unts.

I admit the ability to+ pick yo+ur o+wn jo+b is so+rt o+f literally a dream co+me true, but I admit to+ being so+mewhat at a lo+ss. What is the pro+cess to+ get a jo+b? Ho+w wo+uld I even go+ abo+ut finding o+ne?

Nova City & Genessia City

[ Taking David Haller's advice, Porrim is exploring Nova City and Genessia City, checking ambiance, getting a feel for the cities, exploring apartments, trying to figure out how this alien culture works.

She gets a grip on how the money thing works pretty quick; there were comparable systems on Beforus, and of course there was money in SGrub, even if Boonbucks generally served no real purpose - but she wasn't used to currency exchanges being required for every aspect of life, including basic things like food and shelter. She wagered there were probably no alchemiters around to create needed or luxury items. If something like that did exist, it was probably in Nova City... and it probably wasn't free.

She also realized that the money she'd come with in the Bay was pretty low now after staying in those motels. She'd probably have to get a job soon.

While wandering, Porrim was highly sociable, talking up people, approaching strangers, complimenting outfits. She wasn't averse the occasional flirtation either. If you come her way it's not unlikely that she'd come and say hi! ]

Aphrodite's Love Matching & Nova City Arcade

[ What could she say, Porrim was a lover. The little shop looked cute and the premise was irresistible. She hung out, chatting with the proprietors, playing the games, talking to other clients. Maybe she even got matched up with someone! ]

Hamete Strip Mall

[ Strip Malls were actually something Porrim was pretty familiar with! They had similar setups on Beforus, and they were a prime hangout spot for her before SGrub became a thing. Shopping was one of her weaknesses, and so despite having exceptionally dwindling savings and a pressing need to find a job, she was wandering shop to shop, buying anything that she decided she absolutely couldn't live without. It was getting pretty cumbersome with all this stuff actually, so she started shanghaiing people to carry her stuff.

[Its obvious that Sakura doesn't really know what it's like in a clothing store but she still thinks its a good idea.]

The answer to stress, for Ted, came in the form of buying stupid crap. If it even had a small chance, of being useful, it was hard to say no. And with all the money that would come in from his new position, maybe it wouldn't be so bad if he took a line of credit...

Such deep meditations were shattered when an armload of stuff was placed, appropriately enough in his arms. His voice was muffled through the boxes and bags. "What, hey, what's going on?"

She swapped a bag and a box in Ted's arms which would be more balanced - not unlike stacking her house up in the Medium... or actually going shopping, which may has well have been an equal time ago, but well, SGrub dynamics came a bit easier to her than Beforus things did.

"Yo+u said yo+u were at my service, right? O+r was that a deceitful falseho+o+d?" She was only half kidding. She really did want him to carry her stuff.

"You've got me there. What is all this for, if you don't mind me asking?" Empty pleasantries weren't so empty with this one; Ted was surprised she remembered their introduction through time and trouble.

"Little bits o+f this and that. O+utfit accesso+ries, cute clo+thes, bits of fabric and lace. Co+msetics, hair and skin care pro+ducts - hmm, actually no+w that I think abo+ut it, I wo+nder ho+w useful human pro+ducts will be. O+h well, can't hurt to+ try."

Yes it could. Those things were expensive. She didn't even have a place to put this stuff yet.

"Can't argue with that. Ungh." He knew he should probably get on some sort of exercise regimen, but this wasn't what he had in mind.

"Wonder no more, for human products are very useful. Hrngh!" It'd explain a bit; no human could possibly carry all this around...scratch that. "I'll be...well, I'll be at your service for as longs as my arms maintain their strength. That won't be too much longer, I hope." He knew it was rude to inquire about the length of service when it had just begun, but this was pretty brutal. Not to mention the death of chivalry.

Well one can go to the job centre and see what is there, or you go with what you are passionate about and either start up your own business, or take over one that previous had someone owning it.

[Today had been a rather busy day in both stores. More so in the arcade which made her more than a little relieved that she had someone working there, especially since Usagi had gone. As she grabbed a file for one of her clients that she needed to be she started to rush, only to end up bumping into someone.]

I am so sorry. I was in such a rush I didn't notice you.

Why in the world am I carrying your stuff? [He got a bit distracted when he saw her because..well. He wasn't certain if he should find her attractive or not. She looked kind of scary but then she also looked pretty hot. Mix that together and he was left confused enough to get roped into just about anything.]

Yes, I am all of those things..but.. [And then there she was leading him around again. He remembers her asking him to hold her bags, but he wasn't sure how he managed to hold them for this long. He moves along with her easily enough, though. And out of all of the stores..a lingerie store wasn't that bad.]

Well, I guess it could be worse.. [He says mostly to himself.]

[ She pulled a piece or two off the shelves, looking at the tags and then holding them against her body, frowning. ]

It do+esn't seem like the sizes o+n these are any mo+re co+nsistent o+r lo+gical than the dresses.

You can't find anything to fit you? Because that would be a shame..I mean, to come all this way to this store and not be able to find something that fits.
