Who: Luke Triton, Roman Torchwick, and later Weiss Schnee
When: Saturday, July 18, midafternoon
Where: Streets of Genessia, then Weiss'
What: Torchwick feels a need to express his condolences because Zuko has gone home. Lucky for him, seems like Luke is already headed in that direction!
Luke had seen Weiss' post to the network. And he'd felt bad--no, actually, awful was a better term. It didn't seem fair. He didn't think that Weiss liked him much but that didn't mean he thought she deserved something so sad to happen to her.
So he's decided he'll bring her some coffee. He knows that Weiss likes coffee, and the tea he would have gotten her was ruined when the shop flooded. So he was limited to what he could find. And being a very particular British tea-shop owner he wasn't able to find anything he felt was satisfactory. Coffee it is. It isn't anything special, seeing as Luke doesn't know a darn thing about the stuff--but hey. He's trying
He walks along very drawn into himself, one arm still guarding his side. It's less painful now, but still wholly unpleasant. Regardless, out he is on the beautiful afternoon, carrying along a small gift bag. It's not too hard to guess who the bag is for, given the snowflake pattern.

Ice Queen's broadcast is just the icing on the cake. Zuko's been on his shit list since that one time he almost killed him, so this got rid of a threat and made Weiss miserable! It's perfect, really. He bought Weiss a nice bouquet to mark the occasion. It's tasteful enough, but the bright colors suggest celebration more than condolences. He's taking it by G corp to get some minion or another to deliver it when he runs into Luke. It takes him a second to connect the face to the file, but he's done enough surveillance on Weiss to recognize the boy, and there's only one person that stupid snowflake giftbag can be for.
He falls into stride behind Luke, just a little closer than most would consider comfortable.
"Bringing something to comfort Ms. Schnee, are you?"
His voice sounds friendly enough, even if his smile shows a few too many teeth.

The guy is super in his bubble. Just looking at him makes him hurt, but he's not sure why.
"It's a thank-you present," Luke replies. She'd said she didn't want people to feel sorry for her, after all. And even if he did feel sorry for her, it wouldn't be polite to just ignore what she'd said. So of course he wouldn't bring her a condolence gift. He'd bring her something to thank her, seeing as he'd have ended up dead in the street without her assistance.
Luke sidles half a step to the right, away, and walks even slower, his breathing just slightly ragged and faster than normal. Something about Roman seems funny, but maybe he's just on edge. And uncomfortable--very uncomfortable, at that.
"She didn't want people to say they were sorry for her."

"That's very brave of her, but it's a good thing she's got friends like you to look after her." He winks, then gestures at the bag with his cane. "What are you thanking her for?"
no subject
"She helped me when the barrier broke," Luke replies quietly, wiggling the small bag. "I own Teanie Teas in Genessia City. Normally I'd bring her a tea blend I make, but it got ruined when the building flooded."
Well, when she flooded the building--details, details. "So I got coffee instead. I don't know lots about coffee, so I just asked the gentleman who runs the coffee shop down the street and he told me to get this kind."
Dark eyes land on the bouquet of flowers. He really does wish that Roman would leave him be; he was hoping a little walk would let him clear his head, relax, but now he's got this guy keeping pace with him as he walks along. "Are you bringing flowers?"

He couldn't help but roll his eyes at that. He had seen her minions out and about during the breach but managed to avoid the Ice Queen herself.
But he was in polite company, so he swept the disdain away with a laugh.
"You've caught me red-handed! These are for Ice Queen, all right. My own thanks for the wonderful security and evacuation she organized during that ordeal. And maybe to offer my condolences, but she'll lose it if I tell her that. I'm sure you'll keep my secret though!"
He gave Luke a playful nudge in his wounded side. Yes, of course he noticed which side the brat was favoring.
"You look like the trustworthy type."
My sister helped me with the not-Torchwick last names here
Ow, ow, ouch--it's all he can focus on for a few seconds, dark eyes focused on Roman with uncertainty. The longer they talk, the more Luke feels like he recognizes the man. Like he should know this stranger who is walking with him. Following him.
"I don't--keeping secrets isn't very nice." The boy frowns, looking at Roman uncertainly, peering up. "Besides, you ought to send a note. Won't Miss Weiss want to know who the gift came from, mister..."
Mister lamp, or tort, or retort, or tart, something like that right? He was sure that he'd heard his name before, but he can't quite remember. The more they talk, the more Luke is fairly sure they've met before, but he's not sure when.
"Are you going to bring her flowers now?"
Luke would really like to not have to walk the whole way to Weiss' with Roman Torchwick as company. The guy makes him nervous.
Ack, sorry, I thought I'd tagged this already!
He produces a sealed red envelope from his breastpocket with a flourish.
"Don't worry, little boy, I got her a card. She'll know exactly who these came from." Another too-wide smile. It's a shame he won't be there to see her face, but his imagination will sufice. "I was planning on delivering them personally, but..."
He heaves a melodramatic sigh and shakes his head.
"I'm a terribly busy man, you know? And if you're already dropping by, maybe you could take them for me! What do you say? Think you could do me that favor?"
