[ A-an invitation to Nozaki-kun's room? It's almost too much for her to handle-- but she managers to calm herself enough to knock on his door. ]

[ well that was fast! ] Come in.

[ when she finally does enter, she'll see him all bundled up in his bed. his face and hands look pretty rough with bandages and scratches on them. but there's one lone foot hanging out of the sheets. he's got a journal on his chest that he was writing in but dropped his pen on the floor. now he's trying to reach it with his foot... ]

Can you grab that pen?

[ Chiyo's heart aches to see him like this- but she's more than happy to help him out! She stops and scoops up the pen for him, eagerly handing it to him. ]

Here you go. Can I get you anything else?

[ he starts scribbling down something, looking deep in thought ]

[ She frowns, gently tugging the blankets down over his loose foot. ]

Are you sure, Nozaki-kun? You can ask me for anything.

[ he flicks his eyes up at her, looking like a deer in headlights. how did she... maybe she... he should probably talk to her.

he sets the journal down, holding the page there with the pen this time ]

...Can I talk to you? You can close the door too.

[ She freezes then- wondering what it could be that Nozaki-kun could want to talk to her about. She tries not to fantasize too much, instead she nods, walking to the door and closing it behind her. ]

O-of course, Nozaki-kun! What is it? [ Probably about manga.... ]

I did something...really bad the other day. When all of that crazy stuff was going on.

[ he looks extremely guilty. but it's weird just having her standing there so he scoota over so that she has a spot to sit on his bed ]

[ Chiyo frowns- but goes ahead and takes a seat next to him on his bed. Under normal conditions, she'd probably combust from the simple action, but right now, she's preoccupied with how sad he looks. It's not fair, Nozaki-kun should never look like that- so she sweeps foreword dramatically, scooping his hands up in her own in the rush of it all. ]

N-no! Nozaki-kun, it wasn't your fault, whatever it is!

[ blink. well... that was unexpected. he blinks a few more times, looking at their hands together, then looking at her face. did she mean to do that? or was she just over reacting?

it's probably good that she's acting like this. he can try to be strong in front of her now ]

I... No, I was harsh. I was distant and aloof... Even to my own brother. [ he lowers his head a little, frowning deeply. there are tears stinging his eyes ] I made Mayu think that he was a burden and a disappointment to our family.

[ Now she's all too aware of where her hands are, but it's too late for her to snatch them away. So instead, she keeps them where they are, squeezing his tightly. She doesn't know how, but she has to help him, has to get that hurt out of his eyes. ]

I-it's alright, we all understand! Mayu-kun will be okay. He knows you'd never say those things if you were yourself. [ She frowns at him, giving his hands another tight squeeze. ] Nozaki-kun is... a kind, and warm-hearted person. Mayu-kun must know that about you, must know you could never think of him that way!

I know... Even still, I did say those things and I made him feel horrible, Then he was attacked and I finally snapped out of it but it was too late! The damage had been done.

[ warm? kind? he's always been told that he's so stoic and blunt. those are weird things to hear. but not from Sakura. maybe... maybe he missed hearing things like that...

he closed his eyes and leaned over, putting his head in Sakura's lap. he just... he felt horrible about everything. and then he got hurt in the process of saving Mayu. what the hell, man ]

I didn't gain any super powers again.

It must have been terrible. I'm sorry Nozaki-kun, that I couldn't do anything to help. [ She freezes up as he leans towards her-- and oh! His heads on her lap, and she doesn't know what to do anymore. Her hearts beating out of control, she's holding her breath, and she might be shaking, just a little bit.

...Then he speaks again, and she's reminded that he's still good ol' Nozaki-kun. She lets out a little airy laugh, releasing his hands. ]

Maybe next time, you'll get them.

Well, they do say "third time is a charm". Or something like that...

[ he's quiet, just looking over at the door and he feels his eyes getting heavy ]

Thank you for coming to talk to me. I hope that I didn't worry you too much.

[ She gazes lovingly down at his head upon her lap, wanting desperately to touch his face, to stroke his hair tenderly. She's not brave enough, so her hand just remains where she's dropped it at her side, still trembling and warm from the contact with his hands. ]

N-no, not too much! I was worried of my own accord, after all, Nozaki-kun is...

Is...?

[ he blinks and slowly sits up, looking at her ] What were you going to say?

[ Oh no, what's she done now? He's getting up, her heart's aching-- ]

Nozaki-kun is....! [ Is she brave enough??? ]

[ he's just going to sit and look at her. amazing? the best mangaka? cool? ]

Nozaki-kun is....! [ huff, deep breath chiyo, you got this girl-- ]

The most important person to me! [ STEAM, BLOWING OUT HER EARS. SOMEONE CALL A FUCKIN AMBULANCE. ]

... [ he's making a little "oh" face now. he's not exactly upset about that but he was expecting to hear how amazing he was! but this was close enough.

there was a soft chuckle from him and he gives a smile. he puts a hand up...to put it on her shoulder ]

You're important to me too. [ ...sigh ] I missed you, Sakura. I'm happy that you're here again. [ ONE STEP CLOSERRR ]

[ It takes all of her not to jump up off the edge of the bed and bolt- to flee his bedroom, their home. ...But what would she do then? No, there was no point in running, so she remains perched where she is, cheeks burning as he lets her know she's important to him too.

It's enough to bring tears to her eyes. She nods furiously, trying to ignore them. ]

[ he continues to look at het for a few more seconds, wondering if she's going to be okay. he's still smiling at her...and if someone were to walk in they might be a little creeped out ]

Sakura... [ he paused, laying his head back down on his pillow ] Can you stay here a little longer? I worry about you.

[ The only thing creepier than his smile are the thoughts racing through her head-- as he lays his head down on the pillow, she watches attentively, wondering what it would be like to lay down next to him.

Now she's the creepy one staring, as she nods. ] You don't need to worry about me, Nozaki-kun! But I'll stay with you. You don't have to worry.

Thanks... [ his eyes are getting heavy again ]
