[Action for Fayren]
[On the outskirts of Fayren, a small stone shrine had been built and around it are four hand-carved totems, each with a different rune carved into the front of the wood. Thrall had just finished setting up for the ritual and took a step back, placing the Doomhammer on the ground, resting it on its head. He bowed his head for a while with eyes closed as he began to meditate, breath matching the ebb and flow of the wind, stance as solid as the earth, motions as fluid as a water, and once he opened them again, eyes filled with flame. He raised his hands above his head and bellowed to the heavens...]
STORM, EARTH AND FIRE! HEED MY CALL! Accept this humble offering to the elements that we may keep the balance of this fair land!
[His voice rang out like thunder, and one by one each of the totems began to glow. One bursting into flames, one spraying water high into the air like a geyser, another was struck by lightning repeatedly as rocks slowly began to rise and engulf the last. Thrall glanced around before making a motion with his hand, each of the totems returning to their quiet dormant state though the runes on their fronts began to glow softly.]
Odd... no Elementals came to test my resolve? What strange land is this?

Ted's inward celebration of hookie was interrupted by the bestial ravings of some occultist. He ought to just keep walking. But he just can't help himself.
"Those are some very colorful decorations you have. Are you going to entertain at Chireiden too?"
no subject
These are not decorations. They are sacred totems, the physical representation of the bond my people have with the land, and conduit of the elements power.
[As if for demonstration, Thrall thrusts a hand forward, one totem leaping from his grasp and planting itself in the ground, the rune on its front changing as the earth around it begins to feel muddy and clingy despite no visible change to the topography.]
And I am definitely no performer.
no subject
Ted jumped a bit to see the totem fly out so quickly. "You're pretty good with wood. And you're definitely performing something..." Hold on. The green skin, the questionable dentistry.
"Thrall! So this is what you've been up to." He thought back to the yelling he'd just heard, and decided that it made no sense. "Er, what are you up to, anyway?"
no subject
"I was attempting to contact the Elementals of this place, to learn more about it, and its needs. Usually when attuning a totem, the Elementals test the resolve of the Shaman in battle, but nothing like that happened here. Most bizarre."
no subject
"Genessia is a bizarre place. Perhaps they respond differently here. Did you try using the magic words: 'please' and 'thank you'? They might like to be asked nicely. Or maybe they need to be courted, like a woman."
The reaction he got was likely less than amused.
"All right, don't make that face. Just having a bit of fun. Speaking of fun, I was just on my way to a celebration of something or other, and I, or it, might be able to help. The location is called 'Chireiden', also known as the palace of the earth spirits. Maybe you'll find some of your rocky brethren there?"
no subject
He shakes his head with a snort though. "With an orc, courting isn't much different than battle. That aside, how would you court a being of pure flame, who only has consuming all around it on its mind? The Elementals are primal beings, ones that both embody and represent the world around us at its basest, simplest form. Alone, each would fall, the weight of their unchecked desires causing their kind to fall in on themselves, but together they can achieve balance, and it is that balance that a Shaman strives to maintain."
At the invitation, however, Thrall shakes his head again. "I appreciate the offer, however there are still rituals I must perform if I am to even attempt to contact the elements of this place. Right now that is my top priority."

Her peaceful walk was not to last, however, as he heard that voice echoing over the horizon even from where she was. What on earth was that?
Tentatively, she followed the direction of the yell, wanting to investigate. For now, at least, she was using her human guise.]
no subject
I apologize if the noise bothered you. I was attempting to contact the Elements of this place, to no avail.
no subject
You can contact the elements? How curious.
[That certainly caught her interest.]

[He makes a humming noise that could be mistaken for a wolf's growl as he stroked his short beard in thought.]
All worlds should have some connection to the elemental plane, but this place refuses to allow me to contact it...

[There was a pause. Izanami hasn't tried to access the TV World whilst she was here - would that still be an option?]
no subject
The barriers shouldn't be an issue. Just as the elementals are a manifestation of the world around us, that is where they live and are born. Wherever there is air, earth, water, and fire, there should be an elemental as well.

[She watched as Thrall knelt down, herself choosing to look up to study the sky - or the barriers above them.]
no subject
[He stands, lifting the Doomhammer effortlessly in his hand, despite its size.]
I do not believe I've introduced myself. I am Thrall, Shaman of the Frostwolf Clan, and Warchief of the Horde in Azeroth.
no subject
Still, it sounded as if he had little respect for the Gods of his world. How, then, would he respond to the idea that she was a God as well...hm.
Izanami's power shifted, fog shrouding her slightly as her eyes turned a blood red.]
A pleasure, Thrall. I am Izanami, Goddess of Creation and Death, and Guardian of the underworld in our world...although most here are unaware of that.

I assure you, I will not divulge such information without your permission. I care little for what a person is, and focus more on what they do. My people are far from saintly, but we were given a second chance, and I have extended that chance to all who will take it.
no subject
I appreciate it.
[His people - orcs - were not a group Izanami had encountered before. What was the story behind them?]
I do not believe I have met another of your people since I arrived in this world. I would be curious to hear more about them, if you'll indulge me.
no subject
I was afraid of that. The history of my people is a long and bloodstained one, not always righteously either. Perhaps some time when we have something to drink, I can tell you what I have learned of the Orcs.
