[ So, the excitement is over for now, and Lucy -wishes- she could say it was a new experience for her, but no. She was in Fayren, having left a quick note for Erza and Natsu (or caught up with one or the other) on her way out of town to pick her way to a spot to train and see where she was compared to where she had been. But first.. ]

Now that that craziness is overwith- [ Seriously, what was that even about. . .? ]

Is anyone out there handy with construction, or remodeling? My friends and I are going to be in need of some help in that field soon. I'll be here in Fayren, doing some training if you need to reach -

[ She is interrupted by the sudden voice of another young woman, that startles her so much she actually drops her video phone so the following only processes through in audio format ]

"Is it punishment time, Princess?"

Virgo! No, cut it out already! I'm not doing that -!

[ The feed ends there aaand it's probably for the best that way. ]

[ Gosh, why would it do a thing like that? Heh..heh.. ahem. And well, she SHOULDN't say but y'know, she should be an equal opportunity troll here. She folded her hands beneath her chin, pensive. ]

Well..

[ She paused at the sound of laughter from the kitchen, glancing in that direction, and then back to Natsu. ]

She has mentioned she is most comfortable with you present - that even if no one else were here, she would be happy as long as you were with her. And...

[ SUSPENSE. Have some. Virgo appeared to consider whether or not to mention another thing. ]

[He looked over to the kitchen as well, the corner of his lips slowly curling upwards. It'd been a while since he heard her genuine laugh like that.]

[So she enjoyed his company that much. It felt good to know he wasn't the only one feeling that way. Hoever Virgo just had to bait him in with her words at the end.]

And?

[He's totally on the edge of his seat right now.]

[ Virgo DID enjoy baiting him. And the best part was she wasn't even fabricating or exaggerating. She considered for a second, and leaned forward a little. ]

She confessed that she rather missed sharing bed space with you, especially now since Miss Erza won't permit such a thing. Of course you know that she-

Hey!

[ Aww, interruptions, right when it was getting to the good part. Lucy glanced at the pair as she sauntered out with the curry, curious. ]

You two look pretty deep in conversation. What's going on?

[His eyes widened. Wait that didn't click. After all she kept kicking up a fuss about it before. THen again she hasn't been as upset about it... Just before he can ask for more though, Lucy shows up and his attention jumps straight to her.]

Oh nothing. Just talking about the sparring we did. Giving her some ideas on how to get better when going up against me.

[WHich isn't ACTUALLY a lie since the leg tackle was definitely effective for certain reasons.]

Mmmm that smell amazing~

[Sniffs the air in Lucy's direction.]

[ Lucy flashes a happy smile at Natsu as she set his plate down in front of him. ]

Yeah? Better be careful, we might actually beat you next time.

[ She grinned, teasing. And.. wait, is her chair closer to his now?... eh, must be her imagination. Or maybe it got shoved a little - either way she started to move it back in place, setting her plate down. After a second's thought she changed her mind, leaving the chair where it was and sitting down, watching Virgo. ]

So you've got some good ideas, huh?

Heehee. Yes. Mr. Natsu told me things that were quite illuminating.

[ Oh to continue to troll or not to continue to troll. ]

[That smile isn't fair dammit. Virgo probably knows it too given how he tends to linger for a moment whenever it happens.]

Heh you know me. I like a good challenge.

[He leans over his plate eventually and takes an eager sniff of the aroma steaming up from the plate. Though there is a bit of a flicker when Virgo answers Lucy.]

[ It's totally fair! Especially when Lucy found herself watching him when she thought he wasn't looking, and thinking his own smile was unfair. ]

Yeah, you're not happy if things are too easy, right?

[ Biggest challenge: Figuring out their slowly changing relationship. She paused only long enough to smile and thank the innkeeper when she emerged with drinks for the group - even Virgo. When the woman was on her way again, Lucy stole a quick look towards Natsu, forcing herself to refocus on Virgo again. ]

O-oh! Illuminating huh? Well I'm glad it was a help. I guess that means I have to think of some new ideas too - [ She picked up a cup and pointed at Natsu with a grin. ]

You won't trick me into letting go so easily next time, Natsu.

Mr. Natsu might like that.

[ If she could whistle innocently, Virgo would. ]

[Well he really didn't know that so it was unfair in his books!]

Nope. In a fight it's more fun if you gotta work for it. You won't get stronger from beating weak stuff. Punching grass won't make your muscles grow as much as punching trees or boulders you know.

[A surprising bit of wisdom from the resident battle nut. sadly the moment Virgo opens her mouth he almost chokes on a bit of curry. DAMMIT VIRGO!]

[ May he never know. He'd use it unfairly against her! ..okay maybe not. She grins at the sage advice, because much as she would have preferred simple tasks that weren't so life-or-death, she knew he was right. Battle nut. ]

Yeah, you're right.

[ She took a drink, pausing at Virgo's words, luckily missing Natsu's reaction. Giving the Spirit's words a moment's thought, she blushed, clearing her throat. Ever get the feeling that there's a television set connected between the two worlds and the Spirits were all gathered around it (sans Loke) doing the equivalent of a popcorn.jpeg? ]

A..anyway, all I'm saying is that things might be different next time. [ Sneak attacks were pretty effective with Virgo's tunneling ability. ]

Then next time, instead of holding onto his leg you're going to pin him down? That's very bold of you, Princess.

[ This time is Lucy's turn to nearly choke, stammering a response. ]

That's not what I meant!

[ By god she was wishing she was in the tavern - at least there someone would throw a beer bottle by now and some random roughhousing would start. ]

[Luckily his coughing subsides before Lucy can notice. Though that's not going to save him when Virgo makes that particular proposition. His cheeks lit up a bit and he tucked into the curry completely to conceal his face from Lucy. Though Virgo would likely notice how desperately he throws himself into eating.]

[ Oh she notices. Boy does she ever notice. She's laughing on the inside too, watching the reactions from the pair. Lucy glanced in Natsu's direction, momentarily puzzled by why he was practically inhaling the curry, plate and all. ]

Princess?

Uh... y-yes Virgo?

You're staring.

[ Lucy, on realizing she HAD been staring at Natsu - quite a bit and for more than how he had been eating, quickly glanced away to find anything - or anyone - else to look at, cheeks pink. ]

W...was not. [ She cleared her throat. ] A-and anyway, you know I didn't mean that! I meant...

[ Oh lord she's working herself into a corner here. (Un)Fortunately Virgo set her sights on poor Natsu again. May Spirits have mercy on his soul. ]

Mr. Natsu, wouldn't you think it would be wise for Lady Lucy to focus on close combat as well? Would you prefer to be the one to be held and attempt to escape, or vice versa?

[ She's..just...so..helpful. ]

[He was clearly just really loving the curry! Totally not trying to be inconspicuous! Virgo was switching targets so quickly though that Natsu was going to develop whiplash as this rate!]

Ah well uh it'd make sense. Enemies won't always stay far away...

[That is totally the only reason why he agrees.]

[ It is what makes her a mighty troller. Being able to troll multiple people and switch targets quickly and with ease. Natsu's obvious overenjoyment of the curry was so conspicuous though! ]

Heehee.

[ W... why did she just giggle like that. Of course, the expression one her face is almost predatory, stalking some poor little helpless creature. ]

Then you would be the one to restrain the Princess, of course.

[ Because logically Lucy should learn to free herself from someone who is stronger than her...? Though Lucy was doing much the same as Natsu was right now; finding a LOT of interest in the curry, and clearly the pinkness in her cheeks was from the spicy and nothing else. Not... thinking things. ]

[One of these days Karma will strike back, Virgo.]

Uhhh well errrr I guess so? Though I'd think not getting caught at all would help even more.

[SAVE HIM CURRY!]

[ Until that day comes, Virgo will continue to follow her FLuffy Master's orders. Mwa ha ha. ]

We can do that later. Erm.... next time.

[ Lucy's name isn't curry but she at least tries to interrupt in the topic here. She suddenly clears her throat. ]

I-I mean, to train. That way. [ Still her cheeks were warm at a few certain memories. She glanced towards Natsu for a thoughtful moment, and then back to her curry, as if it contained the secrets of the universe. ]

If you want to, that is.

[ Virgo, deciding to give them a break for a moment, silently picked up a napkin and offered it to Lucy, since she had a bit of sauce on her face. How embarrassing! ]

[Domed. The two of them are eternally doomed.]

Of course I'll want to train with you!

I mean. That's one of my favorite things to do with you.

[A few other less proper acts rank higher but he's not gonna reveal that.]

[ Now and forever. And ever and ever, and ever. Lucy grinned at the agreement, looking more pleased than one needed to be. ]

Good. I mean...being with-- training with you is always fun.

[ And not terrifying like with Erza. Of course she would be shocked at any improper acts! ... but not exactly against the idea. Not.. that she would reveal THAT. Catching a look from Virgo, Lucy blushed again, then pushed her plate over to the spirit as a pre-emptive strike. ]

Here Virgo, try some.

[ Sure you don't have to eat, but if you're nibbling food you're not teasing them! And then glancing at Natsu. ]

Do you want seconds?

[He freezes in mid chew with eyes a little wide. For a brief moment he remembers how Lucy was at first when he brought her into Fairy Tail. Namely the first missions when she used Horologium to transport her. A faint warm smile spreads on his lips but then bursts into an all out happy grin.]

Yeah. Always.

[Oh that's brilliant. Fill the troll's mouth!]

Mmm? Oh yea yeah totally. Can't get enough of this stuff.

[ She certainly complained a lot back then, but when she looked back on it, she had to admit to herself it wasn't nearly so bad. He was always there when she needed him and after she got home she could look back on the time fondly. ]

...

[ She froze for a second herself at his reaction. Natsu you're being unfair and giving her THAT smile again. That one she loved so much. It was incredibly distracting, you know. ]

Ah...oh, okay - right...!

[ She forced herself to look away, mentally shaking her head hard and focused on serving the rest of the curry onto his plate, smiling. Just.. dont' notice the blush. Or the way her heart skipped a beat at that smile. She was just lucky that Virgo was eating, as she knows that the Spirit would say something. ]

[They both came a long way since their start out.]

[He felt her eyes on him but he didn't say anything other than give a slightly puzzled look before she snapped out of it. Wait her cheeks were...no no. It was probably nothing at all.]

Thanks! You're the best, Lucy!

[He gladly took the seconds. Totally ignoring the blush. Or the fact that he can hear her heart beating wildly. ]

[ BOY have they ever. And for all the frustration and awkwardness and everything that they've gone through, especially of late, she wouldn't change it for anything. ]

Anytime...

[ She breathed a sigh of relief, grinning back at him and thanking everything he didn't seem to notice. Somehow. Pink cheeks? Totally from the curry. Now if she could just get her heartrate to calm down. Let's just marvel at the nice polished woodgrain of the table. Yeah that's not weird at all. ]

After all, I have the best partner, so I have to be the best too!

[He nods with a smile and starts eating again. Only to pause when she calls him the best partner too. Something about the way she said and it being Lucy. It lights a very very pleasant fire inside his stomach. Or at least he'd call it a fire. All he knows is it feels good and it makes him feel damn proud.]

Well we are the best team.

[He doesn't technically count gray and Erza since they weren't there for the birth of Team Natsu. They just ended up tagging along.]

Absolutely.

[ The look she gave him in return full of warmth, her smile widening at his confirmation that they were the best team. Even before the 'tagalongs'. ]

...Natsu ...

[ Wait wait. No. NOPE. Despite that she looked like she wanted to say something else, she balked at the last minute. And THAT made her quickly look away, realizing her plate was finished, as was Virgo's. ]

... I-I should take care of these. If you're done ...?

[ Augh that was totally not what she wanted to say, but damned if she knew what she did. Virgo, for her part looked disappointed for a half a second. That must be your imagination though ]

[He only tilted his head curiously when she said his name but changed her mind. What was that all about? He's tempted to ask but then she points out to his already empty plate.]

Oh. Uh yeah yeah I'm full for sure.

[He actually makes the mistake to look in Virgo's direction and notices she too is acting a bit odd about what happened.]

[ There must be a betting pool amongst the Spirits on this entire situation. A betting pool no one will ever win. Maybe. Well it depends on what they're betting, actually.

Lucy fortunately missed the look from Virgo, but she smiled still, collecting the plates. She's gone in less time this time, because the nice innkeeper shoo'd her out of the kitchen almost as soon as she walked in there. So A very bemused Lucy returned to the table. ]

That's taken care of then... [ Shoo awkwardness. You're not welcome here! ]

I think I'm probably going to get a little reading done. I picked up some books from the library in the other city - and I managed to get some blank ones too, for my writing.
