Feather hunting.
What: Fai and Sakura finally sense a feather around. Time to get down to hunting it down. Will lead to a confrontation
When: 4th September
Who: Fai and Sakura to start with with Gilgamesh appearing later on.
Where: Fayren
Warnings: Violence and death later on
[Fai had decided to take Sakura to Fayren today just to show her finally what was around here. He made sure to keep her close as he showed her yet another building.]
I can't... exactly remember what this place is, but that could be because I've never been in there.
[He paused slightly for a moment. There was that strange feeling, something he couldn't quite figure it out because it had been so long since that feeling had been around. Over a year actually.]
Sakura-chan... [He was slowly trying to figure out the feeling, but it meant that he had to check that she was okay, especially since it might have something to do with her.]
Are you okay?

Are you okay?

It's familiar and warm.]
Something is there...
[It feels like her feather but she can't say for sure without Mokona. She glances at Fai, her expression worried before she moves to follow the sensation calling out to her.]
no subject
Yes Sakura-chan, something is... but don't go on by yourself, okay?
[He moves so he was standing next to her. He slowly started to guide her towards the building, towards where the feeling was coming from.]
Now Sakura... Please stay here for a moment. I will go in first, okay?
no subject
She shakes her head, the stubborn young princess rearing it's head.]
No, I want to go with you...
[She pauses, chewing on the words with a level on uncertainty.]
I'll stay behind you.
no subject
Fine... But if anything happens please get out of there.
[He made sure she stayed behind as well as he slowly made his way in, all the time her eyes were looking around, checking to see who or what was around. So far nothing seemed to jump out at him. But he knew that there was something.]
Hello~ Anyone here?
no subject
"There is indeed someone here. Is there any reason you two are skulking about like common thieves?"
no subject
My feather!
[She steps forward headless of the man who held the shimmery soft leaf that held her missing memory.]
We were looking for it.
no subject
Well firstly we were just looking around. Nice... place you have here.
[Putting on one of his many false smiles, this time it really was faked as he moved to step in front of the young girl.]
But then Sakura sensed something and that usually means something of hers is here. That feather you are holding being the perfect example.
[He points it out, but he wasn't expecting it just to be handed over, so for the moment he waits to see just what will happen and how he will react. All the while he was going to make sure Sakura was okay.]
no subject
"And how do you plan on proving that this feather belongs to you? I can sense it has a vast amount of prana in it, more than what should belong to a wench and her ineffective keeper."
[A golden ripple appears from just above the feather, slowly letting it disappear inside of it, leaving his hands free once more.]
"So tell me. How do you mongrels intend to convince me to hand over that which serves me better than you?"
no subject
There is one in each world... I had wings and I lost them. [She doesn't actually know all the details herself but she hopes if she can explain it he'd give them back the feather without conflict.]
Please.
no subject
Interesting magic you have there, though I guess it's something from your world.
[Okay, getting back on task, he stands his ground, giving off a twitch or two every now and again, trying his hardest however to keep the smile.]
Well for one mongrels isn't the correct term. Plus while it may be powerful it does have it's kickbacks, use it too much the same will happen to you. So it would be best to just hand it over now before that happens.
no subject
So...you're a divine being then? Hmph. Tis your loss to lose such divinity then. You'll see no help from me on that. Be glad, the Divine are useless and squabble amongst themselves endlessly.
[He has quite a bitter tone in his voice when he speaks, perhaps from past experiences? He does turn his gaze back to the other one, a sneer on his face.]
If you are not a mongrel, then you'd be worth more than watching over a slip of a girl. And I worry not over whatever ill effects it has. Not even the Corrupt Grail could keep its power over me. Though I do ask what 'kickback' do you speak?
no subject
I'm not...
[Her voice is almost a whisper. She isn't one to let insults upset her but this conversation isn't going as she hoped. So she stepped forward, knowing that Fai would be upset at her. Her gaze suddenly very determined as she looks up at the man. There has to be a way to retrieve that piece of herself. She'd be stronger then and maybe she wouldn't be a burden on Fai anymore.]
The feathers are powerful. They are hard to control. [From what she's seen this is the truth.]
no subject
As she said. I've seen what it can do to people no matter how powerful they might be, or they wish they could be for the most part. [The last part was whispered as he glanced over. For now he wasn't going to stop her unless he absolutely needed to.]
Hey... That's rude. Looking after her is actually a very important job.
no subject
You're not what? Divine? Apparently not from the lack of divinity I sense in you. So, little songbird. Why do you sing unbidden towards me for something you do not have proof of owning.
[And then he shifts his gaze to Fai, another ripple of light appearing above his head, showing off the point of a rather ornate-looking broadsword pointed directly at the man. Farther down the hall behind the two, another ripple would appear with a long spear sliding out, the mythical Gae Bolg ready to pierce that which he deems worthy of death.]
And you're not rude, speaking to a king with your hand behind your back? The only ones who have a hand behind their back are either those who disrespect others above them, or those who plot to kill.
no subject
He'll protect me... [Sakura steps in front of Fai, her chin rose high like the princess she was. She isn't going to let this man bully them.]
It's rude for a king to speak that way to others. [Her father wouldn't have spoken to anyone with that sort of arrogance, that much she remembered.]
no subject
[And this probably was not the best thing to say in such a situation as he started to glance from place to place and being able to see what was going on for the most part. He was just glad he wasn't as dumb as he liked to make out.]
You saw my hand before I put it behind me, I didn't have anything in it. [He turns around to prove a point for the most part, giving a little wave for extra proof before turning back around.]
Besides... there is no title of King so... you aren't a king here no matter how many times you say that.
no subject
[He's not going to budge on that thought. He's been born, raised, and created, literally, to be a king.]
And you expect me to believe that you two coming and saying its yours is counter-proof towards it?
[He asks Fai this as he turns, though as Fai turns around, he might notice a glint of metal and that gold ripple from the distance far down the hall.]
ANd yet you still mock me, and there are people who can create weapons behind one's back. You should be wary of such people.
[And suddenly that spear from way down in the distance seems to eminate a feeling of death. Of instantaneous death with no escape before it suddenly rockets down the hall as fast as a bullet, aiming right for Fai's heart through his back.]
Like me.
no subject
Everything happens too fast for her to react. All she can do is shout his name while tears begin to dot the corner of her eyes.]
FAI!
no subject
Well...That could have ended worse.
[He looked over, there was no speaking to him anymore and he knew no matter what Sakura wasn't going to get through to him. Finally writing in the air with his good hand he unleashed an attack on the other, wondering if that would even have an affect. If not then he knew he was pretty much screwed either way. But he was going to go down without a fight.]
Sakura-chan, please move away. I don't want you to get hurt. Even if Syaoran-kun isn't here I know he would want you safe.
no subject
Hoh! This mongrel has a bit of a bite after all. Pity that bite is so weak.
[Several more ripples appear in the air, each golden glow presenting the point of a weapon, be it a sword or spear, all pointed towards Fai.]
But your defiance annoys me. Begone from me and curse your fate for going up against a King like I.
[With a snap of his finger, every blade that appeared starts flying towards Fai, each one pulsing with enough energy that upon contact with anything they would each cause a violent explosion.]
no subject
Fai... [There is pain and worry in the young princesses voice. She knows that they are in trouble now and as she looks back up at Gilgamesh she sees every weapon blink into existence. Unlike Fai, Sakura has no way to protect herself and she's currently in the line of sight for more than a few of his weapons.
Sakura looks up at the king they fought against as if seeing him for the first time.]
You can't! [But her words came to late.]
no subject
So quickly making use to what he assumed would only be a temporary shield he moved to push Sakura out of the line of fire, casting a shield in front of her just in case as he could hear the shields slowly cracking under the pressure of the weapons. In a last ditch effort he quickly wrote up another spell to unleash another attack before the weapons broke through and once again stabbing him in various places as well as through the chest, but just inches away from the heart. Son he found himself laying on the ground, coughing up blood, he still couldn't help but try and smile. Sakura was okay, at least for now, but he really needed her to just go and maybe tell the others.]
Sakura...Please go tell people, okay? You need to get the feather back and he isn't going to give it willing. So you need the others here to help you.
[He could feel the blood slowly flowing from all the wounds that he had inflicted and knew it wasn't long before his heart would stop and his life would end. It wasn't the worse way to end it. It was what he kind of wanted deep down, but he still felt like he had some regrets and as he slowly closed his eyes, those regrets were at the forethought of his mind.]

[Gil is content to stare down at the dying form of Fai as he lets the blast of magic break upon his armor.]
Hmph. Don't worry mongrel. You don't have to be a burden upon this life any longer.
[Brushing an imaginary speck of dust off of his gauntlet, he turns to regard the other person still alive.]
So, little songbird. You shall accompany me and amuse me. You claim to know about the feathers power, so You shall tell me what I need to know.
[He reaches out towards Sakura, a ripple of light also appearing to show what looks like a gilded cage large enough for a grown adult to stand, with the doors open for its next captive.]
no subject
What?
[There is a lot about the feathers though Fai knew far more than her about their power and their purpose. She stares at the shimmering cage feeling an unfamiliar fear settle in her stomach.]
I won't.
no subject
Like you have a choice, little songbird. One way or another, you will sing. Or else maybe another one will fall until you do.
[The gates on the cage slam shut, locking instantly as the blades that skewered Fai started to disintegrate into the air, returning back to where he got them. As the cage starts to recede into the golden ripple, Gilgamesh started walking out of the building, golden armor shimmering away to leave him back in his casual outfit from before.]
Perhaps you can lament over that mongrel until you understand your situation. I can always find...subjects to test the power of that artifact on.
no subject
Please don't... wait!
[Her small fingers wrap around the bars as he walks away, her voice swallowed by the golden ripple.]
