action, at the bay

[ Nezumi wakes up, holding his head. he's already unpacked the box and stuffed everything into his pockets, tossing the box aside.

once he's out of the cave though, he's startled by the hologram and rushes to actually try and attack it. but he's not that stupid, of course it's a hologram ]

Stupid... [ he scoffs, looking it over with disgust. that girl... she sure acts like she's entitled to a lot. he rolls his eyes, stuffing his hands into his pockets and pulling out the videophone ]

This must be another level of Number 6. They must have just built this... I've never seen it before-- [ then it dawns on him and he's looking around ] Shion--! Hey, where are you?! [ he's looking around frantically for his friend to see if he can find him ]

Damnit, I bet they've taken him! [ and now he's running towards Genessia, taking that videophone out to address everyone ]

[ he's angry. more than he should be at least... but he just wants to find Shion at this point ] Look, I don't know who the hell did this and I don't really care. But if you want to go home tonight and see your family again, release Shion. I mean it.

Not going to reply then? Heh, I thought you Number 6 scum would have some snide comment back to me. But that's okay, I'll rip you guys a new asshole when I get there.

[Shion wakes up sometime after Nezumi is already gone, and he traces patterns in the water with a strange sense of surrealism aimed at his surroundings. He's content to just stay there in shock, frowning at the pendant, wondering about it's significance.

After some time, his desire to learn about Genessia overwhelms any sense of loss or confusion at being here, so he emerges from the Bay.

It isn't until he finishes watching the hologram, that he grips the necklace like some sort of shackle and does something he hasn't done for a long time.

He screams at the top of his lungs.

The feeling of being trapped and powerless is overwhelming. He tugs at the necklace, like it can solve all his problems, digging his nails into it, but not taking it off. Finally, he does calm down enough to look at his videophone. He decides to turn it on and see if he can find out more information about this place. He doesn't think he'll see anyone he knows on it, specifically not Nezumi. The thought already leaves him hollow. Nezumi would never be caught...it gives him some hope, but it's also a grim reminder of how alone he is.

So when he does see Nezumi's video as the first thing, he thinks maybe he's hallucinating. His voice is caught in the back of his throat, as he scrambles to reply, pressing commands without his regular calm.

It switches to video, his voice pouring out immediately. He doesn't think about what he says, he just says words as they come:]

Nezumi! Nezumi! Where are you? I don't think this is Number 6!!! It's probably some city that had managed to remain off the map somehow!

[Aqua isn't expecting to see someone running around frantic. It's been relatively peaceful since she had arrived though she knows that's bound to change. She stops in front of the boy, her expression worried.]

Who's taken who?

[She doesn't understand what he means but she wants to help.]

[Terra is in Attleton and rather far from the bay. Even so she can't help but react when she hears the frantic cry through her phone. She pauses her work at her shop and steps outside to pick up the call.

Of course, Terra has no family so his threat only serves to confuse her.]

Number 6?

[The girl who answers the call has delicate features and she doesn't seem to take any offence by his rude comments.]

Shi-Shion!! [ there's a break in his voice. he was so worried about Shion and just seeing him and seeing that he was alright... he holds the videophone up to himself to make sure that it's not a joke ]

Where are you? Are you hurt?

Get out if my way! [ he stands his ground, grabbing a knife out of his jacket pocket ]

Whatever you've done to me, you're going to regret it.

[He relaxes just a bit when Nezumi speaks it is him he wasn't mistaken, unaware he had been tense.]

I'm fine. [Now.] I think the girl on the hologram called it the Bay? I'm just outside of there.

[He smiles warmly.]

What about you? Are you hurt?

[Aqua blinks, side stepping his knife. She's no thankful for her training sessions with Terra.]

I haven't done anything... just wait.

[She doesn't want to fight him but she will if he continues.]

I can help.

Don't play dumb. You know exactly what's going on.

I'm fine, I'll be right there.

[ and he shuts off the video, turning on his heels and running back to where he had been before ]

[ he comes running at full speed, his hair falling out of it's bun. he looks scared - frantic, even ]

Shion! Shion!!!

How are you going to help me? What do you want in return?

[He almost throws down the videophone when he sees Nezumi.

He didn't think he'd see him again soon, and when he showed up here, the last thing he thought...

He crashes into Nezumi, eyes more reflective than usual, then seems to realize what he's doing and take a step back. Rather than meet his eyes, he toys with Nezumi's necklace that matches his own.]

I can't believe you're here too.

[ he reaches his hands out when he crashes into Shion, grabbing onto his shoulders to steady both of them. there's a sigh from him ]

I didn't think I would see you either. I thought you had been kidnapped or something had happened to you...

[ there's a chuckle that leaves his lips and he puts a hand on the top of Shion's head ] I was about to go kick some asses to find you.

[he smiles faintly at the thought, but he responds bluntly.]

What if I hadn't been here? You would have been fighting for nothing.

Where are we going to start...? [He looks distracted.]

It looks like a lot of the people who live here were kidnapped somehow like us. Isn't it amazing that this city could exist, without anyone becoming suspicious? Did you ever hear about any strange disappearances in the West District that could explain this? The idea that people are actually from different worlds is more than likely an attempt to condition us, sort of how like Number 6 did to the people who lived there...

Guess so. Good thing you said something when you did. [ he turns to look at all of the buildings, taking in everything now that he's not frantic ]

...I'm not doing anything they're wanting me to. This is bullshit. There's got to be something going on. Maybe they got all of these people from...something like the Bermuda Triangle.

Yeah. We don't know what kinds of weapons they might have. I don't want you to get hurt, Nezumi. [The unspoken recent events remain just that. There's a fleeting sad look, but it's replaced by his thirst to know what Nezumi means.]

"Bermuda Triangle"? What's that?

[Terra frowns slightly, she hasn't regained all of her memories yet but she'd thought she'd remember something like this.]

I'm sorry... I really... don't know..

[Her voice is pained as she silently admits to her confusion.]

[Aqua keeps her distance, her expression gentle.]

I don't know yet but I'm sure there is a way. [She believes that with all her heart.] And I don't need anything, I only want to help.

[She hopes he can hear the truth in her voice.]

My name's Aqua.

What? You think just because you tell me your name that we're going to be best friends?

What a joke. [ he shakes his head, scoffing at the thought. he's not moving though ]

Tell me what you know about this place.

Do you even know anything? Or are you just wasting my time?

I'll be fine. I'm a little more skilled with staying out of the way than you are. [ he's teasing. not that Shion is ever in the way. he's just saying he's more nibble to say the least ] Just keep your guard up.

...I had read it in a book before. It's also called the Devil's Triangle. It's a part of the ocean where ships used to cross and they would disappear under mysterious circumstances. There are people who've said that it is something supernatural. It was a long time ago. Way before Number 6 had even been thought of. [ he frowns though, his last memories of the West Block are a little hazy ] I don't think I had gotten on a ship though. Had you?

...Right. [He figures he's teasing, and it makes sense, seeing as they're basically going in knowing next to nothing.]

[He stares point-blank as he listens, completely entranced by something mysterious, Nezumi's voice...

Even when he's speaking normally, he has a gift for the theatrical.]

[He blinks, snapping out of his daydreams, and frowns pensively.]

Not that I remember. [His last clear memories weren't exactly the best, and he didn't care to dwell on them.]

Since it doesn't seem like we'll be leaving anytime soon... We'll have to find somewhere to stay.

[ he goes to hold out one of his hands, hoping that Shion will take it and follow him ] We could find a hotel or something. I don't know if it's safe here at nightfall.

No! I mean... I want to help.

[She's trying but the more she speaks the more she realizes there is probably nothing that she can do to help.]

[He doesn't need to ask. Despite how he feels like a storm inside, Shion's body betrays him, his hand reaching for Nezumi's, cool fingers entwined with his own.]

There was a map somewhere. [He tugs at Nezumi's hand, running over to the magazine rack to grab one with his free hand and scan over it.]

There's an inn Pine Street. We could look into that.
