[Action]Keeping a promise at any cost.
Who: Mamoru and anyone at the field hospital
What: Mamoru manages to limp to the field hospital after being really messed up by one of Gilgamesh's swords
Where: The Field Hospital set up by Anastasia and the others.
Mamoru was still faintly glowing green, with his torn wings present with his ripped toga and the bleeding present on it and his right arm where his bangle was, His body was sore, but... he still looked determined, no matter how much pain he was in. He made a promise he'd come back. Even if he might die, he wanted to see the others, he needed to know if he bought enough time. While he blamed himself for not being able to save Sakura, he could only hope the others could with the time he bought them, and he could at least keep this promise.
He limped into the field hospital, still glowing but with the glowing flickering and fading, the green gem necklace of his glowing also witht he flickering and fading going on. He looked around for her...
"Anastasia-chan..." Mamoru said as he nearly collapsed onto the floor but slowly stood himself up, the glowing had ceased, and his wings went away, but he was still standing. "I....I told you I'd come back..." Mamoru let out softly trying to smile before he collapsed and passed out for real this time.

She was interrupted when another patient arrived. Seeing it was Mamoru, she went into full friend mode, putting the board down on the nearest table to hurry over to him.]
"Mamoru...! You returned indeed, as you promised..."
[She looked up to a pair of free medics who had come to check on the boy as well. She didn't even have to say anything to them as they gently moved Anastasia away a few steps and picked Mamoru up to move him to a spare bed to treat him in.
While tending to his wounds, they allowed Anastasia to be close by, quietly looking on in worry, hoping Mamoru will survive his injuries.]

[After a long while, his hand began to react a little, but only slightly.]

At first, Anastasia didn't know what the glowing necklace meant, but she tied it in with Mamoru's slightly moving hand as a good sign. She moved closer to the side of his bed. She spoke to him quietly to see if he was waking up.]
"...Mamoru? Can you hear me?"
no subject
"Anastasia-chan..."
[Mamoru was a bit soft in his speaking, he was still in pretty bad shape.]
"After fightng with Gilgamesh...it took me time to find my way back, I could hardly move after he struck me..."
no subject
"All that matters is you came back. You fought bravely, and the allies against the man in gold have won. You deserve to rest now and reflect on this victory."

[Mamoru was crying now, thinking about Sakura]
"I promised Sakura-san I'd help her, and... I lost...And when I passed out, Gilgamesh wasn't the only one who probably thought I was dead! I made Sakura-san feel worse!"
[Mamoru sounded very frustrated and turned to cry into the pillow.]
"But then I remembered the promise I made to you when I woke up. I was so worried I wouldn't make it....... But I decided not to give up this time. I wasn't going to break another promise..."
[Mamoru looked to her, still crying]
"But...Sakura-san is safe now? Thank goodness...Thank goodness..."
"If you see her again, tell her I'm so sorry for failing like that and making her sad...And let her know I'm still alive, at least for right now, and I'm going to keep fighting to get better no matter what!"
[As Mamoru said that, he tried to smile and wiped his tears.]

In the end, you were part of the effort that succeeded in that goal. So, I do not think you have failed."
[Anastasia smiled for him, wanting him to not feel sad about the outcome of his fight, but instead feel proud to be part of the big picture that won the day.]

[Mamoru was trying his best to smile despite the bad shape he was in.]
"Even if I worried Sakura-san and made her sad, as long as I stay alive, I don't have to feel bad about what happened."
"I went out there knowing I might not have the power to defeat him. I wanted to be there for Sakura-san... and to buy the others the time they needed, even if it meant getting hurt like this."
no subject
"I may not be a experienced nurse or healer, but is there anything I get for you or do for you?"
no subject
"No, not at all! You've done enough already with this field hospital! This is something that's going to take a lot of time and effort on my part!"
[But then Mamoru opened his eyes and tilted his head inquisitively.]
"There is one thing, though..."
"In addition to talking to Sakura-san, can you also try to make it to Fayren and let Levy-san know what happened to me and about my current state? And... tell her that I'm sorry that I won't be able to visit her bookstore till I'm better."
no subject
"Oh, okay. The medics may want to move you to a better hospital, in either Genessia or Nova. If there is nothing else, I will plan a visit to Fayren."

I would not be a good friend if I did not do that much for you."

[Something appeared to be bothering him.]
"Before you go...I know you were upset with me for choosing to go out and fight. I know you thought I was being foolish or reckless... But please understand I did it so you and Sakura-san and everyone could live peacefully... But I do still feel bad that we fought over it. I'm sorry for being reckless. I was wrong.
no subject
"No... Ultimately, I was in the wrong. You see, Mamoru... Back home, I'm the princess. My job is to raise morale and just simply not get in the way of men who want to fight for me voluntarily. In fact, at some point, my job will include ordering such men to die for me so that others could live.
It's a morbid future and I didn't want to be alone or feel responsible for whatever happens to you. Even though I hold no authority over you and can't order you around."
[Not that she is any good at commanding anyway. She had her reasons for keeping her status a secret, though her dress and mannerisms tend to give her away. She peered at him, smiling slightly.]
"I don't hate being the princess, though. Because it's well within my right to use all my power, however limited it may be now, to try to raise the living conditions of my people. And that's what I really look forward to."

I acted just on what my courage and what my heart told me, and what the G-Stone guided me to do. I know you worry about me, but to me it's better to fight to the very end than to ever let bad things happen, to let a bully like Gilgamesh go unopposed! If I died, I want you to know that well, it's not your fault, If I died, I died fighting for what I believe in, for the sake of The Oath Sworn Through Courage, I'd be doing my lost friends a disservice if I did anything less.
I know what I was taught to do, what I was created to do, is reckless and I have so little reguard for my own safety, and I don't think how my fate impacts others around me. That's why I had to keep my promise and live. That's why I held on and came back no matter what...
[Mamoru started to cry again, before closing his teary eyes and shouting]
I absolutely can't let you ever be sad or in danger, Anastasia-chan! That's why I went! I was worried Sakura-san's predicament was making you sad, she's your friend! And as long as he had the army, you weren't safe! And I said I'd definitely protect you!"
"But...I was still selfish...I didn't think about how me being hurt would affect you...Just because I'm brave and not afraid of someone like him doesn't mean I'm not scared of how me dying would affect you..."
[Mamoru was now crying softly, sniffling into the pillow.]
no subject
"M-Mamoru... Take deep breaths and calm down or else your tear open your wounds...
I'm grateful for your dedication, but please try to get some rest. And don't cry either... You are too strong for that."
no subject
"I'm sorry, Anastasia-chan...I'm just in a lot of pain, and my feelings like I've failed are just making it worse, Even though I'm brave, I still need to cry from time to time."
"Thank you, though...Just try to stay safe while I'm recovering, alright?"
[Mamoru then closed his eyes and softly cried himself to sleep, holding his hurt arm.]
no subject
"Rest well, Mamoru. I will see you again soon."
[She then took a step back, turned and made her exit from Attleton, deciding she had enough time in the day and resources, water and a parasol, to make her way to Fayren to find Levy.]
