Who: Satori, Satsuki, possibly Koishi
What: Utsuho has gone home...
When: October 2nd
Satsuki's communicator would be graced with a ring from Satori sometime that afternoon. It had taken her a while to accept her pet's disappearance. She hoped that the hell raven would be returning to where she ought to have been, and not simply vanishing without a trace or ceasing to exist. Despite looking more tired than usual, perhaps Satsuki would be able to lend her an ear.
"Lady Satsuki, if you happen to be awake, we need to talk. If you don't consider my ill mood a weakness, I suppose." Satori seems she'd just crawled out of bed, as if she'd lost sleep over something, her hair uncharacteristically messy. "Some time ago, my pet, Utsuho had arrived here, much like my sister and I. I had hoped she would stay for longer, that she would be relieved to see us, again." She paused, exhaling as if to keep herself calm, remarking with a slightly darker tone... "I've searched everywhere I could, and I've had Koishi do the same. But it seems that she really is gone."
The mind-reader had felt loss, before. She wished she could have at leas had a little longer to spend with her. "I can't quite understand why this happens. I've wondered if leaving this world, one way or another, will truly sends them back to where they belong. But, I've also asked myself about what sort of world would she return to,without her master to look after her? Perhaps, she'll find a new master while I'm here." She'd been kept up with these possibilities, and they weighed heavily on her mind. "I know for certain that myself and Koishi haven't such a luxury. While I remain here, I will keep my promises. That doesn't mean that losing Okuu is any less painful."

She looked to the screen with a somewhat surprised expression; she would have never expected the youkai to bring a subject like this to her attention, let alone look to her to talk to.
She drums her fingers upon the desk a moment, then answers the call.
"The one that nuked the Bay; Utsuho is not one that is easy to forget." she replies. "I am afraid I cannot shed any light on the 'whys' of this problem, but due my my experience here I have my own theory.. Take, for example, Ryuko. She comes from a point in time that I have yet to experience. She insists I have made actions I do not recall having done. If she were to return home, she would return to a Satsuki I have yet to become, correct?"
Next on Genessia! Satorin contemplates existential horror! *SHOCK*
She sat up a little more and shook her head, looking a little downcast, once again. "At least you have some sense of what 'time' to which that version of Ryuko would return. I have no way of knowing whether she arrived from a variation of Gensokyo where I'd vanished suddenly, or whether I exist both here and there at once. I assume that, if the latter is true, I can rest easily." A deep sigh. She admitted. "Knowing the world as I do, I find it hard to rest, at all."
Nevertheless, she posited... "The nature of our existence here is something I still can't quite grasp. If I still 'exist' in the reality in which Utsuho returns, I cannot be sure what this makes me. Or rather, the 'self' which currently exists, here. I know that I am myself. And Koishi is Koishi, down to the very last hair." She took a moment to arrange her thoughts, still silently distraught. "I've been wrestling with this question. This place's relationship with time and the 'reality' of individuals that inhabit it. And I feel that, through Okuu's departure that...there's still something very much missing."
Oops.
At least not that she could remember.
"It is as you say, though you may recall my relationship with Ryuko is a bit complex." she commented in return. "The nature of our existence in Genessia is something I still intend to investigate. A few months ago I had been granted the chance to ask some questions and I believe I possess some leads that could shed light on this scenario; though I have my doubts that it will be a short journey."
"I cannot bring you any words of comfort. What I can provide is a chance to gain the answers you seek. The only downside is that I do not, at current, know what the price of that knowledge will be."
Oops, indeed. ~( O)~
She'd have started to pick these differences apart until Satsuki's offer had caught her attention. Her third eye dilated subtly on the other end of the feed, all three eyes focused on her. Satsuki mentioned it came at a price, and hearing that from virtually anything in this world tended to leave a bad taste in her mouth. "While I would normally advise against such a troublesome-sounding bargain, I'd like to know the truth just as much as anyone." However, she admits... "While you are still weighing your options, I'll gladly appreciate any information you already have. And, whenever you're ready to make that decision, I should hope you'll not keep that information to yourself, either."
Satori then mused, curious to learn more... "If you can discern the nature of its' price, beforehand, that would be our best option." And a little more callously, she added "And while I hate to suggest it, if it's too dear to us to give anything up, we could always find someone else willing to take that risk on our behalf. Though...you and I are the types of people who would be inclined to fall into this sort of trap, aren't we?"

After that there's a moment of silence as she let Satori's final words set in. At first she looked a little surprised, but then a she chuckled. "We most certainly are."
"I know that the spirit, or at least spirit-like being, that caused the tear in the first place is still on the loose. While it is unlikely it will be able to pull such a stunt again so soon, it needs to be found and dealt with. Whatever means we use to accomplish this I believe will also allow us to interact with the city spirits, amongst other things. Perhaps the assistance of a shrine maiden would be needed."

Of course, her later comments drew up Satori's own experiences, as she felt it might be best to offer some sort of advice. Every little bit helped, so they said. "A situation of this nature would traditionally be the territory of our famous red-white. But, until then, we must see to matters on our own, no matter how this will turn out. Accessing and communicating with the city spirits, regardless of their disposition towards us, is a priority. We must not cause too many waves until the time is right."

That said, she takes the advice to heart. "That makes sense.. Very well, then I will resume my information gathering and keep in touch should I come upon anything significant." There's a moment of silence, then a series of quick beeps are heard in the background which draws her attention for a moment. "Apologies for the sudden shift in subject, but have you ever tasted Triton's brews from Teanie Teas?"
