Now that things have calmed down some, I would like to offer my services as a Shaman to any who would need it. I can provide a multitude of services for a negotiable fee. I am located on a hill overlooking Fayren on its north end.

[Azalea's feeling somewhat better now, so she checks her device to see what's happening. She recognizes Thrall from the battle, and his announcement piques her curiosity, both at the mention of "Shaman," and because he didn't exactly specify any of the services he was offering.]

...What exactly does a "Shaman" do?

We primarily act as a medium between the elements and the mortal realm. However, because we channel the power of the elements, we are afforded various abilities with numerous applications. Construction, healing, herbalism, and more. I will admit, however, I am most skilled in battle, just from the amount of time I've spent fighting over the years.

Hmm, that is interesting. And I can see that you're skilled in battle from the way you handled yourself against Gilgamesh.

About your herbalism...do you practice in medicine?

[He nods, not wanting to really get into his past as a gladiator.]

I do. I already have a fairly decent selection of herbs and roots with which to make medicine with.

[She won't press on his past battle experience. She's not even sure if she wants to press her own problem on him, since it would likely be a long-term project. Perhaps a cure would be too much to ask, but perhaps she could ask for a regular dosage?]

Well...I might possibly have something. I have a...disease...that's been affecting me for over a year. Orphne's been working hard to find a cure back home, but we don't quite understand the plague well enough. In the meantime, she's kept the clan alive with medicines that keep the plague at bay. So...I realize that a cure may be too much to ask, but I could use a similar medicine to help sustain me in the meantime...

Although...I'm not sure how to pay you. I don't really have a source of income. I can perhaps do favors though? Gather materials or other supplies?

[She averts her gaze from her device, slightly embarrassed. This was an entirely different situation that she just didn't know how to handle. Back home, Orphne is working on the same project for the whole clan. Thrall, on the other hand, will likely be taking on different tasks for different people.]

...I don't mind if we can't make a deal. Satori and Koishi have been taking care of me, so I should be all right...

[An eyebrow shoots up at the mention of a plague. The Undead Scourge is still very fresh in his mind, and last he remembered from Azeroth, the Agent Crusade was gearing up to kill the Lich King. The last thing this place needs is a Frostwyrm, and he doesn't want the little dragon to turn into one.]

Hmm... I do not know if I have the herbs to formulate medicine for it, however if you come by I will see what I can do with my magic.

That would be wonderful. I'm also in Fayren, so it won't take me long to get there.

In my world, a Shaman is the link between mortal life and the elemental world in which we live. We commune with the elements and are given access to skills and knowledge withheld from most. The Earth grants its strength and wisdom of the natural realm, wind grants focus and celerity, fire provides protection and ferocity, and water soothes and pushes forward.

I don't know what sort of fee you would want but I'd be happy to pay it.

It is an ancient practice that has guided my people from generations. It was not until we moved away from its teachings that we began to stray.

I suppose I could do something. As for a fee, that would depend on what is done, but we can discuss that in person.

Sakura showed me kindness upon my arrival here, something I am unused to in humans. That and I have history with many tyrants of my world. The simple fact that I am still standing should say all that needs to about that.

There have been all of two humans I've ever seen eye-to-eye with, and all have paid dearly for showing an Orc kindness. I've made it my mission to repay any kindness a human shows, as it seems their own kind would turn on them for it.

A shaman, eh? Sounded pretty pagan. It was a pity Ted could never find a brother. It would've been nice to see the faith spread amongst the green. Alas, it seemed as savage as Thrall looked. Still, maybe...

"Oh, I can mete out a very handsome fee, if you'll spare the negotiation. Just what kind of services can a heathen provide?"

With the others that asked, he felt a little metaphysical explanation would help broker understanding. Somehow, Ted had the same judgmental aura that a lot of humans of Azeroth cling to, and the comment only served to cement this attitude.

"Many things valuable to the people with more of an open mind than you seem to possess."

Goodness, Ted thought, even orcs are not safe from modern inanities. "An open mind is like an open mouth; very silly, and meant to close upon something solid. So far I gather you're good with wood, hammers, herbal medicine, hut building, and screaming. Had any lucks with those elements of yours?"

Thrall rolled his eyes. Ted was sounding like one of the aristocrats filing into a Cathedral for their weekly affirmations of how righteous they were while keeping a foot planted firmly on the heads of those 'under' them.

"And a closed mind serves its owner as well as closed eyes, rendering them blind to the benefits and threats of the world around them. I prefer to keep my mind and eyes open to the world around me, and not fumble through a self-imposed blindness."

Ted laughed at an unexpectedly orcish display of exasperation. What other contemporary gestures would he see? Perhaps a brofist? In any case, deputyship was looking farther away. Maybe Porrim should've spoken with him; she's green. Kinda.

"Come now! Closed minds aren't blank or dark, they're rigid! Hence why their chief offense, to some, is their refusal to yield. Hah, goodness, debating metaphor with an orc. What a world. In any case, you haven't answered my question. I assure you, 'twas not made facetiously."

Thrall looked less than amused by the exchange and his face remained as stony as ever. "I have answered your question. I can do many things, should those in need have a mind to accept what I can do."
