(An extremely tired woman with long blonde hair in curls and held back by various hair clips in different shapes while wearing clothes that are much more suited for a tropical climate than anywhere even the least bit cooler finds herself finally turning on the device (she had given up on trying to read the directions after the third sentence - without a cup of tea or sleeping less than a few hours, she was still dead to the world and reading was not something she was in the mood to do) she had found on her when she had woken up and yawning into the camera.)
What...what's going on? I don't remember falling asleep...or getting into a box...or whatever that thing was... and I certainly don't remember... (She curses under her breath.) But, they're saying it's not?
(She glances down at the box that she had woken up with and sighs.) Okay, so this has to be a dream, yeah? It has to be a dream...a joke? A prank? Something?
...In any case Marie, you keep ending up in these messes, don't you?

Re: ( action; )
(She looks at the archways and then back at him and the slightest bit of a grin forms on her face.) I should? You're just going to keep flattering me, aren't you?
...So, should we just try to find the way out of here?
( action; )
[But his smile faltered at her question. He looked back toward the arches before nodding.]
Yeah. Be ready for whatever might be out there. [Normally he would have scouted ahead first, but he wasn't about to leave her here alone, either.]
Re: ( action; )
Be ready? And what do you suppose we do if there is something out there?
( action; )
Stay behind me, and keep close. We don't know what to expect when we get out there.
Re: ( action; )
I will. (She knows she doesn't listen that often, not without a fight in some circumstances. But she feels nervous enough to just go along with this, besides she knew that he knew what he was doing. But, they could also both work things out if there was a problem that appeared.)
See? (She even moves herself behind him.)
( action; )
Yeah, I see. Okay, let's go.
[And he leads the way through the arches into...a city? His brow knits in confusion as he looks around.]
...not what I was expecting.
Re: ( action; )
...a city?
(She looks around herself.)
I'm not really sure what we're supposed to be expecting.
( action; )
I don't know this city, but...it's...normal... [Not that he really understands what he should have been expecting in the first place.]
I don't know but...that place, where we woke up it's...it's like it doesn't belong here.
Re: ( action; )
It kind of ruins the whole "normal" part, doesn't it?
Wait, isn't there some sort of something around here that's supposed to tell us more? Maybe...we can try that?
( action; )
Hopefully this will tell us...something.
Re: ( action; )
Jason?
(She frowns.)
I'm not expecting a lot from it, but some answers would be nice...but you heard everyone else, right? No one really gets what's going on...
( action; )
[Which means someone has an answer.]
If we pay close enough attention, maybe we'll find something they missed.
Re: ( action; )
Maybe. I hope so.
What do we do if there is something? Do we just go there or...?
( action; )
Magic? I doubt it. [He shakes his head.] There has to be a logical explanation.
[And he shrugged.]
There's only one way to find out.
Re: ( action; )
Well, it was...a guess. I mean, this whole thing is weird...so why not it be that? But yeah, it's a long shot even in this circumstance.
(She nods.)
Yeah, I understand. We have to listen to it, watch it...whatever one.
( action; )
...whoever this recording was, she claimed to not have anything to do with the way they arrived. It was almost as though her company look care of people displaced by someone or something else. But what?
After it was finished, he moved to the stand the broadcast had indicated and found the maps just where the recorded woman had said they would be.]
Well...this is a start.
Re: ( action; )
(Marie had been a little startled, but she did her best to not let it show. She stood in front of the terminal for a few moments in silence as Jason walked over to the stand where the maps were before finally moving over to it herself.)
Do you think she was lying about not having anything to do with this?
(She frowns.)
( action; )
It's impossible to say for sure. [He looks over to her.]
But this is what it mentioned, and exactly what we were looking for. [He spreads the map out across the stand.] We're here, all the streets are marked. There's the line she was talking about for...for children.
It's like a refugee camp.
Re: ( action; )
(Marie frowns at that answer and then she takes a few steps forward and leans down to get a better look at the map. She glances back up and looks at Jason with a slightly worried expression.)
A refugee camp?
(She pauses.)
I mean...I think I see how it's like that, but that just makes me more uneasy about this place...
So, what do you want to do now? You know, about whatever this is?
( action; )
Re: ( action; )
(She pulls out the pamphlet she woke up with and pulls out the red bills.)
We do have this, though? It...I don't think it'll last very long, but we're not entirely without money?
...Maybe I can work? (Of course, she will have to be able to find and hold down a job first. She doesn't have a great track record there.) I wonder how much this would be able to get...maybe I can run another shop? I liked doing that...
( action; )
[But his eyes dart down to the pamphlet she's holding, then to his own man.] There's an office marked here. Maybe that's a place to start looking.
Re: ( action; )
It's...it's nothing. Just...waking up in a weird place, I didn't think about what would happen if there wasn't an answer, well didn't want to, was hoping to not have to do that. I mean...
(She then just shakes her head.)
Or it could just be me, but I should be better than this...
(She nods at mention of the office and places the stack of red bills in her hand back into the pamphlet.) Maybe. It wouldn't hurt to go there and see, I suppose.
( action; )
There's an answer, Marie. We just don't know it yet. [And there were more and more questions, like how she was here at all. She...he saw her...he didn't have time to think about that right now.]
And there's no reason for you to the better at something like this...I...don't really know what to do, either.
[He nods and looks off in the direction indicated by the map.] Let's move.
Re: ( action; )
I suppose you're right. There has to be one, right?
(A pause.) I...didn't mean it like that. I meant being better about...
It doesn't matter now. We have to wait for an answer, well, wait and look for it...and we have to get jobs and all of that...
... (She's quiet until he looks away, not sure what to say, and then nods.) Yeah, let's go and take a look at it.
