Hotter or Colder?
WHO: Amelia Inglebert, Maria Gerald, and Yang Xiao Long
WHAT: Amelia's sisterdar actually works! She may or may not regret that.
WHEN: January 30, 2014
WHERE: Nova City
NOTES: I'm still slow as I have company over for a while, but we can get this puppy started!
As lethal as Yang was, now that she'd been conditioned appropriately, Bison wasn't taking any chances in tossing her out indiscretely. So far her location had changed sporadically, always without fanfare. Wherever he told her to go, she obeyed. She always obeyed.
Today she'd been dispatched to Nova City, disguised as one of the alien natives. Her signature blonde hair was hidden beneath a wild headdress of glowing fibers and what appeared to be some kind of feathers, a mask fitted over the top half of her face. She wore a gleaming silver jumpsuit, and her gloved hands were pushed into her pockets.
Her mission was simple enough: scout the region and see if she couldn't discover a new source of creatures for Bison's mutation experiments. So far, however, she had yet to find anything beyond a few plain sparrows pecking at the ground in futile hope of snatching up a few crumbs before the janitorial robots swept the sidewalks to keep everything perfect, shiny, and new.
Perhaps there was an aquarium of exotic extraterrestial sea life that would be of use. She walked without tiring, scouring the sites relentlessly.

It worked on a hot or cold system. The closer she was to someone with an aura, the stronger the signal. She'd been taking it on routine walks around Genessia and its sister cities, even getting permission to search within Attleton, though that did take a while. Yang had really made herself scarce! Days of searching, and nothing turned up... It was getting a little ridiculous, especially after Yang had already once turned up and apparently thumped the tar out of her own team mate.
The device itself resembled a PKE meter (from Ghostbusters), complete with annoying clicking noises the closer she got to an area with any trace amounts of residual aura energy. Today it was Nova City, purely by coincidence, and Amelia had just considered getting some kind of space-age snack when the radar started a-tickin'.
"Whoa, hold up," She says, "I've got something. And I made sure that Ruby and her friends would stay pretty far form here while I'm searching." Even so, it could have been a dud. Someone could have taken a trip to Nova City earlier that day and lingered a bit too long. Still, it was worth looking into. It was a lot of hot-and-cold, the signal fading and dying out whenever she went the wrong way, but it was definitely getting stronger... Her search had, in fact, brought her to some form of Aquarium for unique marine creatures (supposedly) from different planets...

These people from "Vale" sounded more capable than any soldier on the Forge Military Base... and even more capable than those two demons she'd met.
But for all their looking, she wasn't seeing anyone with hair like Yang's... but it's safe to assume that if she knew she was being hunted that she'd cover it up. That was Manhunt 101. When Amelia stopped her and Bit (who we assume is with them), she had a feeling their search was going to come to an end. "I'll keep an eye out," She says, resting a hand on Amelia's shoulder, "Be careful."
So they walked, until they narrowed the signal down to some kind of science-fiction Sea Land. It was honestly very difficult to be fully attentive while searching... Maria had never seen anything like Nova City, not even in her wildest dreams. Aliens, flying cars, teleporters, and now what seemed to be deep-sea creatures that only seemed possible in storybooks, there was a LOT to be distracted by.

Yang surveyed the tanks impassively, the mask providing visual feedback to her controllers. She stopped to examine each exhibit for as long as it took for the instructions to move along to filter into her earpiece. Aquatic animals were great and all, but unless they could do more than flop around uselessly in the streets, Bison wouldn't find much interest in them.
The lobsters and enormous shrimp, however... There she lingered. The scientists on Shadaloo's end were debating. The creatures could prove lethal enough, once enhanced and made to obey, but they would need time to arrange transport.
"Understood. Adding targets to the capture list," Yang replied dryly, not caring if she drew a few strange looks. Most people spoke into their Bluetooth headsets and earpieces anyway, so Yang wasn't entirely out of place when she began talking to herself.
OH GOD, BACKTAGGING DESPERATELY
Tick, tick, tick... Amelia's sister-dar was doing its work, and as she closed in on Yang, it started to make a ruckus. Ticktickticktickticktick...! The little arms on either end of it raised higher as she closed in. Closer, closer...
When she stopped next to a girl wearing some strange kind of jumpsuit and a weird mask, the thing was going absolutely crazy, at such a high pitch too! Amelia held the radar out towards Yang, and waved it up and down like some kind of airport scanner. When she'd move it away from Yang, the signal would lessen... when she moved it in front of her again, it was back to max strength.
That was Yang alright.
Looking back at Maria, she gave a nod. This was the girl. And hey, considering where they were? Amelia probably didn't look THAT out of place either.
