genessia | 3rd Book

[There were a stack of books piled a mile high in front of Belle as she was focused on something. Jotting a couple more notes down she grabbed another book, skimming to a certain part of it.]

That's a little too odd if you ask me... [She paused on something, her finger running down the page and suddenly stopping at a certain point.]

At the exact same point... What is it they don't want us to find?

[She puts the other to the side, her other hand reaching for another book to flip open and quickly skim through it. Pausing once more a small frown slowly starts to form on her features as this time she actually closed the book and paused.]

Maybe I should see if anyone else has a book just to be certain of my theory. [With a firm nod she reaches over to grab her device and slowly realises that it was already on.]

So this thing is on already. I guess then I shall get to the point. Does anyone own a history book of this world? I've checked out quite a few a noticed a pattern and just wanted to see if an actual copy is any different than the ones in the library.

[They won't be, but that is what Belle is expecting.]

[Levy pulls it out since she's standing in what looks like her personal library. It's far too cluttered to be the book shop.]

I don't think it's complete though.

I was able to get some information from one of the spirits that resides here though. [This time Levy picks up a scrap of paper she had placed in her history book, reading it aloud.]

"Genessia is a city created as a way to save sentient life, human and beyond, and foster souls that truly capture what it means to be alive. Though it is not the only city of its type, it is by far the most successful. By being here and continuing to develop, you're helping to save and repopulate the world."

No history book is. That's the pattern I noticed.

[She holds up her book to show the empty pages after a set bit. She thought it was odd. However she listened to what Levy had found out. It was interesting. They were helping to save and repopulate the world? That seems really odd in her mind.]

Does that mean this world was in danger of dying? And that only we can help it?

[Levy shakes her head.]

It's hard to say. I don't have enough clues to put it together yet but I hope to get more.

[She doesn't even know if it's this world or another one. The people here are a little off and there are strange things going on as if another world almost collides with this one only to be pushed away.]

I hope so as well, but... if they had been hiding it before, what makes us think they will willingly tell us?

[She looks at the blank page of the book of the history book she had been looking at. Whatever was going she really wanted to find out and then find a way to help.]

I think...

{levy hesitates for a moment.]

You have to pay something to learn more but what they want is always something strange... memories, power, emotions... they want what makes us us...

[Belle is just quietly jotting all of this down for the moment.]

Memories, power, emotions... That does seem to be the case. But why would they want these things? What possible magic or whatever it is would need those things? Just seems a little confusing.

But it still makes me want to find out even more.

[Levy admits softly.]

I've been looking into it but I don't want to give up anything else in order to find more. There has to be other ways. There are also these strange stones. I know David has one.

[She knows even less about those.]

I couldn't even tell what sort of magic it was.

But never the less there has got to be a book somewhere tat explains it, but they aren't making it easy.

[She seems more determined to solve this, no matter how long it takes.]

Strange stones. Do they have some kind of magical property.

They do but I can't tell you what it is.

[Levy doesn't consider herself all that powerful.]

I've also noticed that there are some books that aren't here and strange ones that are. What I mean is people will find some books from their homes here while other books are absent. I don't know why but I think that certain books appear here from other worlds.

[She's spent a fair amount of time at the library.]

Really?

[Why did that ping her slightly. It could be because she wanted to see if she could find some from her world.]

I wonder who or what is being picky about things like books. They aren't dangerous.

[Levy knows that books can be dangerous because knowledge can be dangerous.]

I think it's just them letting us know what we are allowed to know?

[It's a guess and nothing more though seeing Belle smile brings one of her own. She has a very pretty smile.]

I guess, but it would have nothing to do with their world, at least most books I've read anyway.

[But she knew some had magic spells and such, so it would make some sense.]

Though I guess magic books fall under something else.

[Levy nods.]

Some magical books can be very dangerous. [The book of E.N.D. comes to mind immediately.]

It could also be books about us or our future or... about anything really.

[Levy's head cants to the side slightly thinking on the depth of those matters.]

You mean like fairy tales? I guess that is not right, but history books where you might be mentioned maybe?

[She already knew that her history was in a 'fairy tale book' but that was not the same really.]

Something like that. I don't really know for sure.

[She does know that books have power though.]

We should probably learn a little bit more.

We should and I'm positive we will learnt more.

Let's do that then! I have to get back to work but if I find more I'll let you know!

I did a lot of reading when I first arrived and unless someone has an old diary from dear old aunty who passed away when granny was in pigtails, there is a very strange lack of history to this place.

It has some history...It just stops at the exact same place. Like it was on purpose. So I kind of doubt any ones diary would have anything new to add.
