15th Campaign [Live+Video+TV]
[So that time has come yet again. Naturally Satsuki Kiryuin had caught Weiss' press conference, and while she was somewhat surprised by the 'suddenness', she didn't feel any pressure to respond immediately. There are a number of things for her to do; she's always working.
However the press was getting on her nerves even more than usual and should this keep up she'll hardly get anything done in a timely manner. This brings us to now, where Satsuki stands at the podium, adorn in the (current style) Guardian uniform colors of white, light blue and navy.]
'Lady Kiryuin, your thoughts on Miss Weiss Schnee's joining of the Nova City Guardian Election?'.
[There is, perhaps surprisingly, a lack of Satsuki's usual intensity in her tone. Perhaps she's tired.]
Lady Schnee is an upstanding and ambitious young lady; an exemplary model that many should strive to follow. That aside, I believe that her decision to challenge my position is an unwise one.
'Are you saying that she does not stand a chance against you, Lady Kiryuin!'
No, she most certainly has a chance. What I am saying is that it would be a detriment to Nova and Genessia's other sister cities if she were to be elected. It may not be clear to the other cities, but I work under a supportive system tied to tradition. It is a system not built on otherworld technology but modern resources, and natural progression. A system that we all can feel pride in and one that we can all build from.
One of my goals has always been to show that access to archways or being born with superhuman abilities is helpful, but ultimately unnecessary to become an exceptional Guardian of this city. This is an ideal that I believe should be encouraged as it cultivates the kind of inspiration and growth that we truly need.
Lady Schnee has already blessed Nova City with her Welcoming Center which has ingrained itself neatly into our culture. I suggest that if she truly desires to help this city further, that she do so by starting at the side of Deputy Dantes and myself this coming term, as I have with the Guardian before. Not only do I believe that is fair, but I also believe she will find that her ideas will not be as simple to implement as she may think.
A vote for Kiryuin is a vote for Order via Nova Tradition.

Lady Schnee's beliefs on simplicity not withstanding, it sounds like you're opposed to change. That may not be the case, but that is what it sounds like.
( video )
When do you think all four walls will be finished?
( video )
A valid point, and a skilled metaphor. Still, it assumes Lady Schnee intends to undo all you've done. Perhaps I've misinterpreted, but that hardly seems her intention.
( video )
You are correct; as a matter of fact Lady Schnee and I are alike in many ways, and that is a part of where my issue begins. People possess similar goals, but approach them in different manners- that is where my metaphor shines: our approach is the color white and the walls are the goal.
Of course Guardian candidates that possess different goals would not benefit from my suggestion.
If I may interrupt your questions for a moment, might I have your name? Do you live in Nova City? If you prefer not to answer, that is fine.
( video )
The solution, of course, is to see to the completion of the remaining walls, however mismatched they may seem, and patch afterwards. I assume your concern is Lady Schnee will not see the big picture, but instead focus on consistent coloring and make no progress in either case.
( video )
It should not be too much work, I believe. The one thing about Genessia is that it possesses a twisted sense of humor that does a wonderful job of making things complicated for Guardians in some manner. Tracing those larger occurrences should make it easier.
[She pauses a moment.]
That assessment is accurate enough.
( video )
[He nods.]
Tell me, how long have you been the Guardian of Nova City?
( video )
[A certain Theodore could certainly attest to that.]
( video )
( video )
That I have another. I wonder, have you been here long enough to decide upon a career?
( video )
( video ) -> {private)
If that is acceptable to you, I will try. Where I come from addressing one you have just met by their first name is inappropriate as it suggests a closeness that does not exist.
That aside, I wish the best in your search.
[She switches to a private filter.]
Should I be re-elected and you find yourself in need of assistance, I would be interested in reviewing your skillset.
( video ) -> {private)
It's the only name I've given, Miss. [And the only name I go by. Balthier is all that's needed.]
Well now, this is a surprise. You're interested in giving me a job?
( video ) -> {private)
[She then shakes her head.]
Lets not get ahead of ourselves. You have made a fine first impression, as well as piqued my curiosity, so I wish to learn more.
There is no guarantee that I have a job for you, but it is not impossible either.
( video ) -> {private)
[He smirks.]
What sort of skills are you looking for, hypothetically hinging on your re-election?
( video ) -> {private)
Still, these are important things for Guardians to have access to. You strike me as a smooth individual; obtaining information must come easy for you.
( video ) -> {private)
Ah. You would have a spy.
[He shrugs casually.] I always keep both ears to the ground. I'm sure we could work out a proper payment system, should information be fettered your way.
( video ) -> {private)
Actually I would prefer the term 'informant', but perhaps that is going into semantics. I will keep that in mind however.
Either way I shall get back in touch with you if that is acceptable.
( video ) -> {private)
[And he still looks amused, like there's some sort of joke someone told he hasn't shared.]

I do not take your move personally, but your timing is rather unfortunate. I am not prepared to step down just yet.
Re: video; private
You may not be prepared to step down but I think now would be a good time for me to step up.
I did have one thing to ask you about before it came to light, particularly since Sun seems.. keen on taking a more negative approach to this situation. I haven't spoken to him yet because I wanted to speak to you first about something I heard from him. I have no intention of silencing the truth, but before he outright states it publically, I'd rather find out your side of the story. What exactly did you say to make him think you're discriminatory against the Faunus?
[ She won't assume that Satsuki is discriminatory, but she's certainly going to ask what she said- Weiss can decide on her own what she thinks of it. There's definitely something that happened though. Of that much, she's sure. ]

At your housewarming party he and I got into an argument. I insulted his intelligence, his way of living and probably his worth in society. Perhaps I went too far in belittling him. I'm afraid I cannot provide exact wording, but I have no issue with the faunus. Just him.
However, I will note I obeyed your rules and left before a battle began.
video; private
[ She knows, because she used to insult people like that all the time. It was immature. ]
I appreciate that you did, but I would like to get to the bottom of this. It isn't like him to pick fights for no reason.
video; private
My apologies, but I am failing to understand what either of us are supposed to gain from you understanding this situation. Particularly what I would gain. So long as he has nothing to offer, I could care less if his behavior is 'unlike him' or not.
Also you are not his mother or his keeper, let him handle his own problems. [Beat.] Unless you are.
video; private
I may not be his mother, but I do consider myself head of our household.
[ Ruby may be team leader, but Weiss is self-declared executive house leader and she has the master bedroom to prove it. ]
Re: video; private
[Beat.]
My problem with him is not his species, it is with his attitude and way he chooses to live. When I met him, I determined he was a miscreant, a delinquent, a member of society who strives for the bare minimum that has far too much free time. When someone like him expresses opinions on subjects he could never comprehend only made me further irritated. So him pointing a weapon at me was the final straw. I have no idea how you can stand living in the same household as him.
So why did I speak to him in that manner? Because someone had to and I felt that I was that person. I had hoped he would apply self-evaluation and start to change. Perhaps it should have come from you instead.
video; private
[ And Satsuki better never repeat all these compliments, geez. ]
If you spoke to him in that manner instead of calmly explaining the situation for what it was, then I think you owe him an apology as much as he owes you one. You're a leader, Satsuki. You're supposed to be able to deal with disagreements in a much more effective manner than treating people who don't completely understand a situation with disrespect and insults. Especially to someone who's dealt with that his entire life because of how he was born instead of through his own occasional stupidity.
[ Needless to say, she doesn't think Sun's entirely out of the doghouse with this one either now that she's heard more. But that doesn't mean she thinks Satsuki's out of it either. ]
I will speak to him again to get to the bottom of this, but I do hope that at least one of you will stop acting like children long enough to speak to and apologize to one another before this gets out of hand.
video; private
[Satsuki raises a brow. Being reminded that she's a leader stings a bit as it brings back somewhat melancholy memories, but her expression shifts back to its usual expression. Or lack thereof.]
You are not wrong; I shall consider placing it higher on my list of priorities. I need to return to work as well; I appreciate your taking time to speak.
There is no rush; Wukong is just blowing hot air.
[And she ends the feed.]

[Satsuki raises a brow. Him again, huh?]
I am unclear on the point you are attempting to make. Are you saying you would not vote for anyone whose family has been accused of criminal activity?
no subject
Either you were already aware of this fact, meaning you worked for someone that you knew didn't actually win. Or you were oblivious to it, meaning you probably aren't the best person to be in office when someone can get away with something like that right under your nose. Neither case paints you in a great light.
So don't go saying Weiss needs to start at the side of a Guardian like you did when he was illegitimately Guardian. Which also means you were illegitimately Deputy Guardian.
no subject
With that aside, it would appear you are unclear why I have made such a statement. The apprentice and their future projects will always benefit working under the master.
This goes especially for Lady Schnee as our visions are not completely different. If they were, this would be an entirely different campaign.

Weiss will win or lose on her own merit. I don't need to stir any controversy when your former boss did a great job leaving so much mayhem in his wake.

My apologies, as that was not my intent. It is no secret that when it comes to rules and law, I am not a very nice person. That said, your line of thought is both naïve and lazy.
However this is not the time for me to educate you on how this all works so I will bring this segment to a close by granting you two options: Confront me or another Guardian about this matter after the release or put an end to your grudge. Now.
Do you have any other questions?
