[It had been a week since he left to the Dream Docks and today he returned, fresh and filled with new memories of what his future would be like. It certainly was... not exactly something he had ever expected, but he had managed to get that done and sorted and now he could get back to his campaign. Once he reached his cafe he grabbed the jar and placed it down on the table before sitting down device switched on. He wasn't the type to do TV appearances, he was going to speak to the natives directly about it. But first things first.]

As you can see I'm back and about a cheery as ever and not because it's the season to be jolly. [He gives a light chuckle for a brief moment.] I'm here today because as I mentioned I'm in the election for City Guardian in Everglade and I'm basically planning on saying my ideas, or the ones I have an idea for. If something you think should be mentioned isn't, please ask me. I will take every question into account and give you an answer.

[He moves his jar and now it's clear in view.]

I'm sure you are all wondering what this jar is about. I call it my 'City Emergency Fund Jar' I pay in two star amount of red bills a month into this thing so that if any city ever needs it due to situations that could not be helped, then I will pay for them. So far I believe I have at least six star worth of red bills in here which is actually a lot. [He smiles sweetly.] The reason I brought this up is because if I am elected... All the money I would earn I would not see a single penny of. It would all go into this jar for the city. Which pretty much means I'll be doing this job for free.

[Which he felt like was a good idea since he didn't need the money. He paid for the house, sure but the rest of his earnings always now went into the jar, Sakura always paid for everything else.]

Moving on to other subjects. The whole Necromancy Ban has caused quite a bit of uproar in Everglade and I can understand why. It's what they are use to, it could actually be there livelihood and therefore the ban made them homeless because they weren't getting paid. But I can understand why Ted would do it because well... bringing someone back from the dead is impossible. At least not without some kind of side effect and only if one is extremely powerful, but again...side effects people do not want. However, I very much doubt Ted brought that ban to the people so that they could have there say about it. My goal is to make it so natives can actually have a say on subjects I bring to them, make them feel like they are being heard.

[He has at least one more thing he needed to say at least.]

I will also bring more protection to the city. As we are aware the whole barrier situation that happened and how bad that turned out to be. My plan is to set up spell that will give warning should it break again and give the people enough time to do something or evacuate. [He paused for a moment, wondering if he had anything else left.] That is actually all I have for now, but as I said questions are always welcome and give me that moment to really think about it.

To be clear, would you uphold the necromancy ban if you attained office?

It would all depend on the peoples view. I would ask what people think since I am sure there are some for and some against after all. So I cannot say I will or I won't.

I found out quite a few things really. What happens to me, what me and my friends all go through. I've learnt quite a bit that should help me in the election.

[Aw, that pout was adorable.]

Nice... So, guessing you made it out okay in the end? You seem pretty happy.

[Not that he was worried or anything.]

Well, I did. I actually had longer hair in the end too, but since everyone was use to my short hair here, I've kept it.

[He tugged on it lightly, unless someone wanted him to, he would probably keep it short.]

But at the end of the tunnel thing were okay and I know I was just going to keep travelling.

Huh. You know, I can't imagine you with long hair. Would've been easier to play with though~

[Don't mind him, he's just pondering that thought.]

With what you've said of how much travelling you did, I'm pretty surprised you never wanted to stop.

I know, it's a weird thought isn't it? Though for you I'd be willing to actually grow it here so you know what it would be like?

[He laughed slightly.]

Well I only travelled because I have nothing left to go home to, well... no home left to go to. So all I have left was to travel. At least here I do.

You know, I might have to take you up on that offer.

Well, that makes two of us. All the more reason to stick in Genessia, huh? Although... if Genessia ends up vanishing, I might just have to go follow you around other worlds. Sorry, you're stuck with me.

[This was the best way he could think to ask - just make it sound like a joke, so he could easily laugh it off if Fai refused.]

Then I will grow it for a bit, see how it turns out.

[He nodded slightly.]

I wouldn't mind being followed, however it does come with a catch.

Now that's something I'm looking forward to seeing.

A catch, huh...? Don't tell me you're gonna dress me up in all sorts of cute outfits? Sakura may've told me about that.

Actually no. That is not the catch and that's not a bad thing.

No, it's actually a thing I had to do before I could travel.

Never said it was a bad thing, Fai-hunny. Though I half thought you'd try and deny it.

Well I'm full of surprises there. I won't deny it.

As for the what, when we got Mokona we each had to give up something. Usually something important to us. For me at the time it was a marking I had on my back.

A marking, huh?

[He wouldn't press the question if it was something Fai didn't want to answer, but that certainly struck his curiosity.]

Don't suppose there's any particular pattern to what we'd have to give up, is there?

Some would call it a tattoo. It was to suppress my magic. For me at the time it was important.

[This day and age he knows now it would be as important. He had other things to consider precious to him.]

No, I don't think so. I mean when... that thing happened, I cannot actually remember what I gave up. However the pattern always seems to be important things.

Hmm, a City Emergency fund? An interesting concept.

It is and it would help fix things up much quicker than normal since all the money they would need would already be there instead of making small payments and taking ages.

Oui, we have had plenty of issues in the past where we've needed to access money quickly, mostly after some big-headed fool attempts to destroy the place.

Yeah, last time that was partly my bad. It's why I set this up as my way of saying sorry.

I was in part to blame for that as well... To think a man like that could sneak into my city right beneath my nose, the nerve of him! To question my power and capability as a Guardian, to call me a mongrel! Honestly, someone like that with absolutely no elegance or taste--I mean really, that Armour was the most gaudy thing I have seen in years!

I didn't see why he went after you. I mean you seem capable to me. Nothing wrong with you being able to take care of the city. After all no one seems to go up against you in elections. perhaps there is a good reason for that.

[It's usually best to just let him rant until he shuts up. ]

As for going unopposed in the elections, I imagine that the rest of Genessia is just too intimidated by my splendour to run against moi~

I think so, people feel more confident about going up against others, like I did. I had too much respect for you and David for example that I could never go up against either of you.

I'm glad as well, but it proves the point that many people think that so much no one wanted to go up against him. Same with you.

Still, I appreciate the compliments. I imagine the Everglade election will be an...interesting one, but I definitely think you're in with a good chance.

I think it will be one of the most interesting. I mean Nova City looks to be interesting as well... [Which turns out later to actually be true.] But I've got a lot cut out for me to even have the chance.

[ Kind of a different side to Fai, this time, at least in Porrim's eyes.

And honestly a more measured approach to the necromancy ban was... something Porrim wanted. She wanted to get Ted to moderate his position, but it was becoming more and more clear that that was never going to happen. Maybe Fai winning the seat wouldn't be the worse thing ever.

And as for her personal opinion... well, something about the guy must make Sakura like him, right? ]

So it seems like your platform is mostly disaster preparedness, and moderation of Ted's necromancy policy.

This is a fair change from Ted's more ambitious plans to say, eliminate crime, change public perceptions about magical practices, etc.

Can you elaborate on what you feel your role as Guardian will be?

What I feel my role as guardian will be? I think of it like this. The word Guardian means to protect, so really you are there to protect the people. What's more you would need to work with them in order to achieve some of that. get to know the people and see what they can bring to the table.

However that could be just me thinking that. Basically overall I see the job as working for the people.

[ If you'd have asked Porrim what she thought a guardian should be when she first arrived in Genessia, that's probably what she would have said.

So did Ted raise her standards or just desensitize her to overreach? ]

Where does the line between listening to the people and personal values get drawn, though? If it became common and accepted in Everglade to kidnap people for use in dark rituals, would you say that it's just the will of the people?

It would never come to that though. The way I will see things is in order for people to do what they want they need permission, you don't get that permission that is going to be dealt with. I've been here long enough and have seen that some people do work this way, they make sure every party is okay with it before they do there work.

People aren't doing things just because they can. They do what they do out of respect. Those who don't of course aren't the majority.

[ Porrim really couldn't argue with a consent-based society. ]
