NEWSPAPER - BIWEEKLY EDITION

[Did you subscribe to The Genessia Tribune? Did you even remotely wish you had a newspaper or some other form of media to refer to for news, weather, and current events? Then you're in luck! There's a paperboy riding through the streets of Genessia flinging newspapers onto doorsteps or, if you're unlucky, through your window. Even remote locations in the other cities will still get a paper if one of the residents ever wanted one. The Paperboy is just that dedicated.]

Snowmageddon

It’s looking like the weather forecast for the rest of the month in every city will be snow. We hope you have all bought your winter clothes, because it is looking like they will see a lot of use for the rest of the month. Many people seem happy to welcome the coming winter wonderland, but not all are probably happy with the cold weather. Whatever camp you are in, just make sure to stay warm!

Holiday Cheer

It's no surprise to see all of the cities getting into the Christmas spirit with the holiday right around the corner. Down town areas are being decked out in decorations as well as business and entire buildings.

Malls are being injected with the Christmas spirit as well, with winter wonderland train rides being set up for the kids. The holiday has mostly everyone in high spirits. Though mysteriously, people that didn't even decorate their homes are finding decorations suddenly appearing on them. Could this be the work of Santa?

They can be removed, by they just seem to reappear moments later. Mistletoes are being found placed all around the city too. In businesses and homes. Trying to remove the will be met with the same phenomena of them reappearing. But they appear to be harmless, so don't let it all bother you.

Letter From Mr. Claus

[This letter is attached to each paper that a character gets.]

Oh ho ho. Hello, [Your character's name]! Have you been good this year? I hope so. And if you haven't, there is still time to end up on the nice list instead of the naughty list! It's never too late to perform good deeds.

You have probably seen Christmas decorations around your home. Don't worry, that's my doing! I asked my helper elves to make up these decorations. Don't worry if someone naughty removes or destroys them, the elves infused them with magic so they will come right back.

So I hope you have a merry Christmas!

Special Note: The decoration level that Santa provided is up to your characters. He could have hung a wreath or put up a small Christmas tree or decorated their place from top to bottom with lights, Christmas train sets and all other manner of decoration.

Genessia City

Rose Creeper: Someone has been going around to people’s houses leaving black roses, while they’re out, sleep or in the shower. It is unknown why the person is doing this, but it is making people very uncomfortable. A level 2 payment is being offered for anyone that can capture the culprit.

Nova City

Quad Devastation: A female robotics engineer has created a squad of four robots designed to look like girls. Each girl has a different hair color, red, black, blonde and white. It is unknown why they chose these specific colors, but the robots have been seen causing destruction and robbing banks. It is unknown what the creator wants, but anyone that can stop them will receive a level 3 payment.

Everglade

Home Stuck: A magic user has hexed a family so they are unable to leave their house. They have been stuck there for weeks. The only way to break the hex is to defeat the magic user. The family is offering a level 1 payment for anyone that can help them out.

Fayren

Emersen & Lutea: A powerful water mage (Emersen) and a powerful summoner (Lutea) have been terrorizing people in Fayren. They have robbed shops, stolen shipments, robbed people when they are out alone, which is to only name a few of their crimes. The people of Fayren want them brought in. A level 3 payment is offered to anyone that can stop them.

Attleton

Reign of Terror: Throughout Attleton, households have been discovered with little signs of forced entry, but within is a gruesome display of brutality. The inhabitants - regardless of gender or age - have been maimed, mangled, and ripped apart. There have been signs of fire as surfaces have been charred, but most disturbing is the pentagrams and runes painted across the walls, floor, and any other surface using the blood of the inhabitants. I presume so! I'm assuming we just take the concept and run with it, unless the mods normally have something particular in mind.

[ Guess who doesn't realize he's yelling about the paper and looks ready to go outside in a skirt with her dog in her arms. ]

Snow. All month. I could deal with one or two days. But all month? [He'd say Weiss isn't dressed for the weather, but the cold is her element.]

[ She'll fight you over this Sun. She will. She's even putting her tiny dog down. ]

[ Which she probably never got to do with anyone when she was a kid because she was a snotty rich crabmaster who probably just hung around her sister and was terrible at friendship, so now that Sun has officially declared himself an official friend, he's completely going to get pulled into this. Weiss goes to the front door, holding it open and gesturing for him to go through with all the impatience she can muster. ]

You know how we warmed up in the snow in Vacuo? We didn't. Because it never snowed there. [You Atlesian and your frigid weather. He trudges over to the door and reluctantly, outside.]

Well I've never had to deal with a desert wasteland, so as soon as it gets that hot here, you can show me how to cool off.

[ She closes the door behind him, locking it since she doubts he thought to take his keys with him, then rolls up her sleeves as she walks further out into the snow. It probably looks like she's got something very intricate and graceful planned, but it only takes another second longer to reach down and grab a snowball and throw it at the back of Sun's head. ]

[He's about to turn around and ask her what he's supposed to do, but he feels that snowball hit the back of his head. His tail stands straight up as a cold shiver runs through him. If there was a tree nearby, he would have skittered behind it. He turns to face her.]

H-Hey! What was that for?! [Urge for payback, rising.]

[ There's a little smirk on her face as she's already gathering another one. Now that he's paying attention, it's time to add a little more punch to it. As in pumping this snowball up with her aura is absolutely happening. ]

I told you, I'm-

[ She throws it before quickly rushing a little bit further away from the house to avoid damage in the probable pissing-Sun-off backlash. At the end of this, at the very least, he will have moved around enough to warm up and then hot chocolate will be in order if the house isn't buried in snow. ]

Just warming up!

[If the rest of team RWBY decides to join in, damage to the house might be the least of anyone's worries. He held his arms up to blood the snow. It was easy enough to tell that she was adding a bit of kick to it. Two can play at this game.

He runs to the side to get out of her path.] Okay, Ice Queen! I will just have to fight fire with fire! [Or snow in this case. So he grabs a snowball and packs it tight and hurls it at her face.]

[ Good, he's getting into it. Weiss backflips out of the way to dodge the snowball, kicking up large amounts of snow in Sun's direction as she does, gathering snow in her hands on her way back upright from the flip. This is going to escalate very quickly.

Wait did he just call her- ] Hey!

[ And there's another snowball aimed right for him! ]

Satori would be woken by a very excited Koishi, half leaning on her bed and shaking her shoulder. Next to her Kuro let out an irritated growl, rolling over and hogging the bed more. Of course this meant less room for the other animals, the fox letting out a yip and moving, two dogs having to hop over the sleeping youkai to have a spot to themselves again, a groggy cat barely landing on its feet after being pushed off...

Sometimes a king sized bed just isn't enough.

"Sis! Wake up! C'mon!" She was more insistent now. "You have to come see this. It's really amazing!"

"Koishi...You know I wanted to sleep in a little longer, didn't you?" The mindreader was sporting a sweater-like garment out of desperation, a little more than her usual nightdress for sleepwear. She'd also tried to bundle herself into her blankets, considering the effects that the cold had on a Chireiden with an empty furnace. It was terrible. Especially waking up to a home whose coldness matched the bitterness of her soul.

Then again, it could just be that Satori really hated the cold. Let alone being roused from her toasty slumber sooner than expected. A few of the animals mirrored her displeasure, after all. They wanted a rest, too.

She sighed out her minor annoyance, lifting herself off the bed to find her clothes were a bit weightier than normal.

Still sporting her typically cool expression, though tinged with frustration, Satori shook her sleeves a little onto the bed. A nesting sparrow flew out in a panic, while a small, confused hedgehog seemed to skitter about and curl up nearby its own kind in a pointy pile in one corner of the bed.

It truly wasn't even beginning to be enough.

Satori naturally attempted to rouse herself and disturb the least possible amount of animal bedfellows, sitting up until she was entirely wakeful. This dislodged an unhappy mouse from her collar as it scampered away to hide.

"...Alright, then, I'll humour you. Come on, then, what's made you so energetic?"

Taking Satori's hand, she led the older youkai out of her bedroom quickly, not even pausing to let her grab her slippers. Instantly their senses were assaulted with the smells of christmas. Yuletide smoke and pine needles. The chilly scent of peppermint. Something that smelled suspiciously like baked sweets... And it soon became clear why.

The halls were decorated with little ribbons and sprigs of green plants. Bells hung from a variety of things. Strings of lights had been put up even! To make matters worse the grand entryway with its double staircase now had its center occupied by a massive evergreen. And this thing was BIG, decorated with various ornaments and tinsel. It also seemed bolted down quite well to its base which was almost as wide as the tree's bottom branches and covered by a decorative red and white rug... already a variety of Satori's flying and tree dwelling pets were occupying it. As well as several cats. Scribbles ha already made his way near the top and was trying to remove the gold star from the top with little success.

"See?" Koishi squeezed her sister's hand. "I'm not hallucinating, right? You see it too? When I woke up everything was like this! It's amazing! It's uncanny!" Several animals had followed Satori out of her room, wondering what was going on... And they were already gravitating toward the tree...
