[Waking up in a pod was mildly startling to her; if only because of Cipher's information, she was aware that cyborgs existed because of the Dulvik Organization. And really, if she didn't know better, how would she know that she wasn't knocked unconscious and woke up a cyborg herself? But, she did know better and was quick to assess the situation. She worked intel. She couldn't jump to conclusions. She was annoyed that she had to get her boots wet to get out of this place, but there was nothing she could do, so she was quick to move outside with the box she woke up with.

Once outside, she'd paid close attention to Weiss' hologram - while internally gushing about how cute that outfit was - and took one of each pamphlet available. It wasn't until she gathered and read all the information she could there that she realized it was a winter wonderland out there, and that's when she noticed the chill of the air on her legs. Nothing she wasn't adjusted to, thanks to her work in the frozen Klistea caves, but it still made her shiver. She should have worn her leggings.

She tried to shake off the cold and quickly moved to explore Genessia City, so there was a young woman in a black and white jacket, skirt, knee boots and beret exploring the city. Nothing out of the ordinary, except maybe those blue and white feathers where ears on a human would be. She seemed focused on taking in the environment... and maybe hoping to find a café or something for a hot drink.

... she was really cold.]

[Once she was satisfied with her basic explorations, she finally turned on her video; the short blue haired woman with feathers on her head appearing on screen with a smile, although it was clear she was shivering a little.]

Is this working? Oh, good! Hello everyone, my name's Alma, and I guess... you could say I'm new here? I won't bother asking those basic questions that that adorable hologram already spoke the answers to, so I guess my immediate concerns are seeking employment and a place to stay. Preferably, the latter first...

[Her smile turns into a sheepish grin.]

This world seems rather large, so I'm not completely sure on where to start.

[She pauses then, then lightly tugs one of her ear feathers.]

And has anyone seen a taller man with neck length black hair, blue eyes and feathers on his head like these? Responds poorly if you call him Kamille? I need to meet with him if he's by any chance here.

Sorry, I haven't seen such a man. Not that absence of evidence is evidence of absence, mind.

As for where to start...perhaps the cinemaplazaplex? A convoluted name for a theater, in other words. I've been meaning to see that new Charlie Brown film.

[She seems to squint her eyes a bit, rather perplexed at whatever he just said. That is the most absurd name for a theater she's ever heard in her life. And... 'Charlie Brown'? What?]

'Cinemaplazaplex'? How many drinks did someone have to think that name up?

[She's also not too certain how going to a theater would help her at current.]

Hah! As if sobriety prevented all silliness. [Ted, a little romantically, took her "getting started" request to mean something like "What should I do first", rather than brass tacks.]

Well, I wouldn't mind paying your way just this once if you wanted to see it with me.

That's sweet of you, honey, but I need to get myself settled in and have everything straightened out before I can go thinking about entertaining myself.

Besides, my brother would have a fit if I went some place with a man I don't know. [Let alone her fiancé, but those two always were twitchy about everything when it came to her safety.]

Ah, well I wouldn't want to earn the ire of protective siblings. Most start with the apartments, and the newspaper has a good write-up on all the places that are hiring. I could send you a pdf of the latest issue, if you like.

[He definitely wouldn't want the ire of her sibling, that's for sure.]

Five cities does sound overwhelming at first, especially if they differ as much as the pamphlets say. I hope they're at least relatively easy to adjust to.

[Zelos pretty much has a boyfriend at this point, it doesn't stop him flirting.]

I've found most people pick a city closest to what they're used to and kinda hang around there, at least until they're settled enough to explore the others.

[She giggles quietly.] Oh, I'm sure you say that to all the girls.

That seems like a good idea. I guess then I have to figure out which city is just that, but right now I'm sure all of them are just... cold.

That's not true, I have standards, you know.

Cold? Yeah, the weather is kinda unpleasant at the moment.

[She does like those little extra confidence boosts every now and then.]

I don't mind the weather itself, but whoever brought me here could have had the decency to have left me with some winter clothes. This is far too light for the weather.

Yeeaaahh, lovely as that outfit is, it really doesn't look the warmest. If you take a look at the little box with the necklace in, that should have enough money in there - the red paper things - to at least get you a winter coat or something.

[Levy smiles brightly on the screen.]

I haven't seen anyone like that but I do believe there is an Inn close to the Bay area where you can stay. It even has a hot spring. A friend of mine runs it.

A hot spring? Oh, that sounds like a complete godsend right about now. [She smiles nervously again. She could spend hours in a hot spring right now. It was almost embarrassing that she was this cold given her primary work location.]

Where's it located? I may have to stay there a while until I can get a place of my own. Well, so long as I have the money for it.

You should be fine and Yukiko is really nice about the money thing. Besides you should have more than enough for a month's worth of staying and if you need help finding a job I can help you.

[There is a pause and then a ruffling of clothes and books.]

Give me a second and I can meet you and take you there.

Only if it's not too much trouble. I really appreciate it. [She could probably find it herself with no problem, but a little extra help would probably go a long way.]

Is it terribly difficult to find a job here? I hope I wouldn't have to occupy one of your friend's rooms for too long so she can accommodate other guests.

[The screen shifts wildly as Levy leaves her home. A warm jacket now thrown over the thin girls frame. She looks at the screen and a large puff of white leaves her lips as she smiles.]

It's not to hard. There are a lot of different types of jobs and if nothing suits you then you can open your own store or business or whatever you want really.

[She knows that Yukiko really doesn't mind.]

It's an Inn so don't worry. It's meant to have people staying there.

[It only takes Levy about 10 minutes to arrive at the Bay. She has an extra jacket pulled over her arm which she hands to the girl.]

I didn't know your size. [But it's her roommates so its bound to fit!]

[She sees Levy approach and gives a smile, which only brightens when she hands her the coat. This girl was an absolute saint to her right now, between meeting her to help her out and lending her a coat.]

Thank you so much, Miss!

[She puts it on and rubs her arms to help warm up a little faster, but just having the coat feels better already. She'll need to make a note to find someplace later to pick up some warmer clothes so she wouldn't have to borrow anything else.]

It sounds rather easy to get work here. I'm a little surprised, but I'm happy to hear it.

Before I go on about that, we should get out of this cold. Would you mind leading the way?

[Levy smiles brightly and waves for the girl to follow.]

Yeah, it's this way. My names Levy by the way.

[She steps along the street with a smile and moves so that they can walk side by side.]

It's a pleasure to meet you, Levy. I'm Alma... but I guess I said that already earlier, didn't I?

[She hops up beside Levy to walk alongside her, quickly looking around the city before looking back at her.]

I know getting a job and a home is standard fare, but how long are people here for? Is it really that long?

It depends but I've been here for about six months? I know others that have been here longer.

[She doesn't know exact dates and the coming and going rate really doesn't make any sense once so ever.]

Hopefully you will at least be comfortable here.

Six months? [Okay, that was a little surprising. And others have been longer? Her brother was going to be worried sick if he knew. Still, she manages to put back that smile.]

I'm sure once I get used to it, I'll be fine. Better than being cooped up in a night club and a military base all the time.

[Night club and a military base? That sounds like an interesting place.]

Is there where you're from?

[She hopes that the girl isn't to upset about being in Genessia. It's a strange place and far from home but it isn't bad.]

They were my primary work places. It's kind of an odd combination when you stop and think about it, but my job takes me odd places.

[Especially when that night club is owned by a mercenary organization and she played intelligence officer for both then and the Air Force. Her smile does widen, she doesn't seem to be taking being in Genessia too hard.]

But I can't say my journeys have gone quite this far.

Sounds neat! One thing I miss from Fairy Tail is the stage where people who perform.

[When she thinks about it, her world is just as confusing.]

Well we're here.

[She points to the Inn with a smile.]

Yukiko is inside. Do you need anything else?

[While Nova City and Dubai were more his cities, Troy found Genessia City as a lot more laid back. So despite the snow, he often finds himself visiting the main city in his spare time, trying to explore more of it and figure out more of its secrets that could be hiding in plain sight. Of course, that's not what he's here for at the moment. Right now, he was on his daily runs, wearing nothing but his Genessia necklace over a tight fitting t-shirt, track pants, and some running shoes. Alma isn't the only one who looks out of place right now, it seems.

While he has been running for miles nonstop, Alma wouldn't find him doing that. Instead, he was simply strolling about until he made it to a crosswalk with Alma. He looks beside him and the first things he noticed were her ears, her odd clothing, and the fact that her boots were drenched. That could only mean one thing, he thought. He turns his attention back at the crosswalk signal before he speaks up]

Lemme guess, you woke up in a glass pod and had to walk out of there knee-deep in water.

[She stops when Troy comes into view and she looks at him curiously. She looked him up and down, her mind coming up with three conclusions. One, he was pretty cute. Two, that outfit was awful. Three, how was he not cold in it? Maybe points two and three could be explained away with exercise. He was still cute though.

She looks down at herself and looks at her wet boots and frowned a little. She knew they were durable, but it didn't mean she wanted them to get that wet. And it sure wasn't helping with the fact that she was cold. But she looks back up with him and smiles a little.]

What was the giveaway? The boots or the confused wandering?

Those... [Troy pauses to smile wider and turn halfway to meet her eyes] ...and your ears.

[Those Kashia feathers are what really makes Alma stand out the most. She can change clothes and fit in with the rest of the humans, but Troy imagines those ears would be hard to cover up. If he had a jacket he would have offered it to her, but alas he's just wearing clothes fit for running so he can't help her there]

The locals here are all human. You won't be seeing anyone who isn't until you go to the other satellite cities.

[The crosswalk sign changed and Troy takes his first step forward, glancing over his shoulder to see if Alma would be following him. It looks like she's just wandering aimlessly, and he wasn't sure of Weiss' hologram got replaced yet after someone busted it up before Alma's arrival.]

Well I got some time to kill, I'll walk you to wherever you wanna go to.

[Her feathers twitched when he made special mention of them, causing her to blink in confusion, until he mentioned everyone was human. Well... at least that would mean that if there were any other kashia - be it Caelestis or Mobius - they'd be relatively easy to spot.]

Ah, so there's no other kashia here... I guess I don't have to hope to find my brother or fiancé.

[She does look rather disappointed. If she weren't so used to being in mysterious locations and far away from them, she'd probably be uncomfortable, but she needs to make the most of it somehow.

She noticed the crosswalk change and Troy starting ahead. She hesitated, but took a step after him.]

Honestly, I don't really know where I'm going yet. Are you one of the locals here?

[Troy gives a solemn and understanding nod when Alma spoke of her brother and fiancé. It sucks to be the only one from your world in Genessia. Troy would have missed people very badly if he actually has people he was close to back home. He has yet to meet the people he would see as blood siblings. Either way, he just didn't mention it]

Me? Nah. I woke up in that place like you did. I've just been here for almost two months now.

[Once he made it to the other side, Troy stops to wait for Alma]

The Schnee Company office is the best place to go to for new arrivals. It's a walk from here, but I'm guessing the hologram that's normally there is still busted?

Two months? That's almost disorienting to think about.

[She assumes there's longer though, which makes her heart sink a little. Her mind still flashes back to her brother, but she is used to not seeing him for months at a time due to both their military obligations, so she could hopefully get by here fine. It was a little scary to think about though of never seeing him again.

She lets out a quiet sigh before catching up to Troy. She gave a puzzled stare and tilted her head.]

No, it seemed to work when I saw it. Is it a common occurrence for it to be broken?

Yeah. Every other day, some new arrival would take out their confusion on it and the city just repairs it the day after.

[Troy glances over his shoulder to meet Alma's gaze, showing he's not lying or making things up just to mess with a newcomer]

It isn't so bad in here, honestly. You just got to be good at thinking on your feet.

I shouldn't be surprised by that, really. I'm sure there are people who take their arrivals a lot worse than I did.

[After all, waking up in a pod wouldn't exactly sit well with a lot of people. Nonetheless, she had to stay optimistic, and she does put on a bit of a confident smile at Troy's words.]

Well, I'm not going to brag, but I like to think I'm pretty good at making snap decisions.

[That confidence just made him smile and look at Alma with a raised brow]

Oh yeah? What makes you say that? What did you do before all this anyway?
