Who: Sun Wukong, Open
What: Just him monkeying around and tormenting people selling fruit.
When: 2/10
Where: Genessia City
With recent events, Sun felt he was in need of some unwinding. And what better way than pissing off the fruit vendors? Well, there were probably a ton of better ways, but this was the option he was going with. The vendors outside were the easiest targets, it would have been a little more tricky to steal from the stands in doors.
Sun is running down street right now, three vendors in tow. He’s holding a couple of pieces of fruit that he swiped from one of their stands, but he’d stolen from the other guys before so..they were all giving chase. He looked back over his shoulder to him,
“Come on! You can’t be mad at me because you guys are terrible at watching your merchandise!” They yell something back to him in return, and whatever it is causes him to laugh in response. He sets his sight ahead of himself. He rounds an upcoming corner and when the vendors round it too, Sun is nowhere in sight.
They look around for a moment before continuing onward to try in find him. Meanwhile, Sun is sitting on top of the nearby building, peering a little over the edge at them. He has his spoils sitting next to him. Those guys obviously didn’t see him, though he couldn’t be too sure if anyone else around might have or not.
“Man. Those guys make this way too easy.”

Riff raff! Street rat!
She's behind him on the roof, walking toward him with her arms folded. There's a hint of amusement in her eye though. In a way, Sun going back to stealing from the local fruit vendors was the final sign that things are going back to normal.
"You're starting to get a reputation, you know."

“Good thing you aren’t a cop.” He says as he looks over his shoulder to her. “Otherwise with those sneaking skills, you might have apprehended me before I knew what was happening.” He reached over and picked up one of the apples.
“And I’m aware that I’m starting to get one. Doesn’t mean I’m going to stop, though.”

"But you should still be careful. There are plenty of people around here who wouldn't exactly approve of theft."
The Genessia City Guardian seemed pretty serious about that sort of thing in particular.

“It’s just a couple of pieces of fruit every now and then.” Of course the vendors would be annoyed with it, but he imagined that Wily, if he did want to protect this city, wouldn’t worry about a small petty crime like that.
“But I’ll be more careful if you think that’s the smart move.” He grabs another apple and offers it to her. “Stolen fruit?”
no subject
She glances over at the apple and shrugs a little bit, reaching out to take it.
"Might as well." She doesn't eat it just yet though, just holding it in her hands for the moment while she looks down at the street. "That's all I'm asking. We've barely done anything here and we've already made enemies."
no subject
“I don’t know which number is bigger, though.” If they counted the number of people that their enemies seemed to have under their command..then enemies would win out. But he's not worried, at least, he doesn't look like he is.
“That just gives us all even more reason to look out for each other. We all need to watch each others back.”

It was true. There were still plenty of people on their side, some very powerful ones too, from what she'd seen and heard. But still... Bison, Dr. Wily, Skeletor and of course, "M", the biggest mystery of them all. People who, even after being transported against their will to a different world, seemed incapable of doing anything other than trying to gain more power.
"You're right." She takes a bite of her apple, chewing and swallowing before speaking up again. "Still, it seems like lines are being drawn. I can't shake the feeling that something's going to happen."
no subject
“I wish I could say that you are worrying over nothing but..” There was no way that any of them could just ignore the feeling. Something could suddenly happen. Like when Yang was taken, or when those little bots were sent to attack them, or that big creature suddenly appearing to wreak havoc.
“We should all remain on guard. No running off to unsafe areas alone.” Like Attleton. “More training is probably in order too.” They needed to sharpen their skills for when something did happen. He also needed to take a trip to Vale to get some ammo.

His remark about not going into unsafe areas gets one Weird Look(tm) in response, but she sighs. He probably had a point there.
"Professors Ozpin and Glynda mentioned started up some training again once Yang is back on her feet." She glances over at him. "I could suggest they invite you... if you're interested."
no subject
“If it’s just combat training, then sure. But if they are running you guys through some team exercises, then I don’t want to be a fifth wheel.”
no subject
"Well, it couldn't hurt to ask. You've been a big help with everything going on." A pause. "But, if not, I don't mind helping you practice a little when I have some time free."
randomly passing by.....
She turned just in time to see him being chased and sighed. When he darted toward her, she called out, "You can't keep doing this, Sun!!!"

It wasn't like she was one to talk, though. The heiress was still freeloading off of the others' paychecks.
This is just like patrol...
That's when the strange young man dashed by with an armful of fruits. Maria was barely able to step aside and keep him from barrelling her over in his 'fun' egging on the merchants... who made her have to step out of the way even more, but even then she got shoved.
"... Stop! Hey!" Maria shouted after Sun, and dashed off to chase him down. But when she and the merchants rounded the corner, Sun was gone. The vendors kept on, but Maria just looked around. No... she knew there was no way Sun could have simply disappeared that quickly. He was hiding somewhere...
First she looked down the alley, but there was nothing there. Then she looked up towards the roof.

The girl was a smart one for not being fooled by his little disappearing act. He couldn’t say the same for the vendors who were currently still running in the direction that they thought he went. But then again, they kept getting robbed by him and didn’t really seem to catch onto his tactics.
By the time Maria looked up, Sun was already peering down at her with an apple in hand and an amused smile on his face. Really, he could have just run off since none of them knew where he went, but he was far too happy with himself. He just wanted to sit there and enjoy his spoils for as long as he could. He raised the apple up and took a bite.

It felt strange to shout things like that when she couldn't even claim that she's the law. She used to be, but now... Well now she's no different than those vendors, is she? Well... except the fact that she has all those weapons.

"Because stealing is wrong!" She yells up at him. But since he has no interest in listening, she's going to have to go up there... Maria studies the building for a little while before moving around the side of it. She saw a fire escape there... even if the ladder was several feet off the round, there was a dumpster back there, so she used it. She climbed on top of it and leapt to grab hold of the ladder and pull herself up.
From there it was just several flights of stairs until she could climb up onto the roof.

“You know you are wasting your time, right?” He calls out to her.

"I'm sorry," She says, "But as a soldier of the Ironhart Military, I can't just let you steal things like that. I have to ask you to return..." A pause. "... What's left."
"Those merchants worked hard to acquire the food they sell. They work to make a living. By stealing what they've worked so hard to gather, you're stepping on their livelihood," She says. For a second she swallows, probably gathering her nerve. "So... return what you took, or I'll be forced to... perform a citizen's arrest!"
no subject
“And as the thief of this fruit, I’m going to have to politely decline to return this fruit. I didn’t take nearly enough for it to hurt their profits. And I’m pretty sure they would rather have my head than the return of their fruit.”
no subject
"... You obviously know that stealing is wrong, and if you keep stealing nothing good can happen... so why?" She decides then to at least try and understand him.
"And stop eating those!" Yes, she also sees past what you're doing. Keep her talking long enough and there won't be any fruit to return.
no subject
“Well, okay. One, it is just fruit. Not even expensive fruit. The vendors won’t even take any hit in their profits for me taking it. I never swipe more than I need. Two, It’s not like I have any money to pay for it anyway. No different from back home. Except I think the vendors back home do a better job of guarding their merchandise."
At least he was pretty sure they did. "And three! It’s just plain fun to see them get so riled up when you show them the fruit that you just swiped from them. You see had red that one guy’s face was? Hilarious.”

"No money?" She blinks, "What happened to your money? When I arrived here I thought everyone was given just enough money to survive for a few months. Did you not look for work?"
