[Nagisa was as chipper as ever. He had some news and he couldn't help but want to share it to the world. As he managed to switch on the feed, his smile was widening a little more with each second.]

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas~ I thought I would let everyone know that the calenders are done and out and the money will go to the swim club. Buuuuut...

[He gives a pause, if someone were to play close attention they would be able to hear barking in the background. It wasn't long until he was looking over for a brief moment a brief look of panick sweeps over him as he quickly moves away from the device to deal with something, which could be heard in the background.]

He-Hey! Don't chew on that?! Rei-chan will get mad!

[There appeared to be things getting knocked over before Nagisa came back with a cute little golden labrador puppy in his arms. Once he sat down, trying his best to keep the puppy from running off he speaks once more.]

I also got a puppy~! A girl, whom I actually have yet to name. But look how adorable she is~

[He holds her up to the device as she just wriggles briefly before he holds her back.]

I think that was all I wanted to say... Well except for one question. How does one stop a puppy from ripping and chewing things that they shouldn't?

You have to discipline them. Something harmless but unpleasant, like a gentle swat, or maybe a spray of water.

They'll associate the bad behavior with the unpleasant sensation and start avoiding it.

I know that, but I only just got her back home recently.

[So he's hasn't even started training yet and he knew odds are it will take a while.]

But the water sounds like the nicest way to discipline them without swating and hitting since that is what it is but lightly.

[She could just call him back, but considering they live nearby, she'll just... stop by.]

She is cute, but is Rei okay with this?

Well, I would have asked if I could find him right now, but I think he's out.

[Which made the answer simple as a no, no he is not sure if he is okay with it.]

[The feed starts and stops for a second. He's still getting used to this thing, but that dog is adorable, and Richard loves animals.]

That's a hunting dog. She'll make a fine companion with the right training. I could give you a hand.

[He just saw her as a pet really. But knowing how not good he was training at the moment... Although he did just get her really.]

You know how to train dogs?

It depends on the breed. She looks like a retriever. They're used in duck hunting mostly.

[He nods.]

I grew up on a farm.

It's definitely advantageous that way.

[Levy is giggling a little bit when she hears the news about Nagisa's puppy. If she had known he was chewing on a book she would have been very upset.]

Why not ask those at the shelter?

[She has enough pets and has never trained a dog but it probably isn't so hard.]

Is it really? Not sure I can think of how it is adventurous.

Poor ducks... what would they have done to a dog.

[He is joking slightly, but he doubt he'll be hunting for duck ever.]

[His nickname for her chanced every now and again because he wasn't sure which one he preferred. He also feels bad about the book if that helps.]

Well they gave me advice... I would need to remember everything they said.

[Levy laughs a little bit.]

There are books on training if you want me to find you one.

[Except the dog has to not eat it.]

[He chuckles at that.] Nothing. They just fetch them once we've shot them. They're...to eat?

[And he smiles fondly at the memory of Hartland.] It was...simple. Pure. Hartland is on the other side of the Boundary. Darken Rahl's influence never touched it. People there...still remember what it's like to be happy, and if I have anything to say about it, it's going to stay that way.

Well, I'm not a puppy behavior extraordinaire or anything, buuuuut maybe playdates with another puppy could help? At least she'd have less energy for ripping and chewing stuff!?

Well... I guess but the puppy would stay in my room when not going for a walk or eating. That way things would be okay.

Ah! I thought you were thinking that duck killing was for fun or something. Food I guess is another matter.

[She paused for a moment, people knew what it was like to be happy... That was an odd thing to say in his mind.]

Was... your world so horrible then that people didn't usually know what it's like to be happy?

I would like that, though I guess I will ask how much.

[Because he was willing to pay for the book if it came from her store.]

Puppy playdate... Actually that sounds cute and fun for them. Although I would still need to train her as people keep telling me.

It's okay. I'll give you a discount and books aren't all that expensive.

[It's really only a few dollars and since Nagisa is her friend she can give him a good deal. She'd give him the book for free but she doesn't think he'd really appreciate it as much.]

[He smiles.] Well, it is fun, but then you get to eat it, which is better.

[And that smile falters.] If Darken Rahl has his way, it will be.

But... why would someone want to do that? Being happy is a good thing.

{Just sad to think about people being that way.]
