Well, another Guardian election has come and gone. For all the Guardians, new and old, I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors.

[She looks down for a moment, and it almost looks like she's trying to keep from giggling.]

All right...I'll admit that it was rather funny that the kid spreading the false rumors about Weiss actually inspired me to vote for her.

[Plus Weiss had bonus points for being her employer, but that hardly had anything to do with the election.]

I suppose it does. It's kind of a shame, though. I'm sure that kid was trying to turn everyone against Weiss...

[Aurora decided today to go for the good girl approach to the conversation, can't always be bad after all. Besides it makes it all the more fun when she stabs people in the back. Literally depending on who they are.]

Someone was spreading false rumours? Well that doesn't sound very nice at all. Why would meanies do that?

[Karla just shrugs and sighs.]

I wish I knew. I can't fathom why someone would even bother to lie about a person, especially with lies that aren't even believable.

That's people for you though. If they think they can get away ith it, they will lie. Or if it's for there own selfish purposes. But never the less what I said applies.

[Which she does a lot for selfish reasons.]

[She couldn't really argue, but the overly generalized remark is still somewhat disturbing.]

Yes... Sadly most people I've met fall under the lying pattern.

[She looks down slightly, she hated it, which was true in a sense.]

So I tend to think everyone does it.

I'm sure we all do every now and again. Some people just need to hide something for some reason.

Which is being selfish. I mean there's those who don't because they don't want to hurt someone... But ultimately it will hurt more if they don't tell them and they find out. I'm not a fan of lies and try and be truthful myself for this reason.

[Which is a bunch of bull to an extent anyway, there are things that are never asked so she doesn't answer.]

It's amazing how desperate someone can get during election campaigns. [And by amazing, he means sad.]

But there is always the possibility that they were banking on the reverse psychology to work in Schnee's favor. Not that I'm pointin' fingers, but the possibility is there. [Maybe he's just hoping that the kid spreading the rumors wasn't so dumb that they expected it to work in Satsuki's favor. Who knows.]

I highly doubt it...at least in this case. Weiss wouldn't do that.

Her, perhaps not, but she had a supporter just as vocal as Kiryuin did. Some will go to great lengths for their causes, perhaps too great.

Really? I don't recall seeing anyone supporting her that vocally. There was the person who spoke up against Satsuki, but at least his words were true.

Certainly not to the heights of that kid spreading rumors, but it can still be counted. [He shrugged.]

I can't say one way or the other if any of their words were true, but you gotta admit, he sure took his sweet time to say something if that Guardian girl was that bad. After all, why wait 'till an election to reveal supposed corruption?

From what I understood, a mentor of his had told him not to act, and then Satsuki challenged him to speak publicly.

How curious. Yet I'm not surprised. Elections always are nothing but a mess, no matter where it is and who's involved, but I daresay this was likely the most... civil one I have ever witnessed.

Ah well. At least it's over. So long as I can do my jobs in peace, I couldn't care less if it was Schnee or Kiryuin running the show.

I actually agree. That's why normally I wouldn't have bothered voting.

[She mainly voted just to spite the rumor-spreading kid.]

So, what sort of jobs do you do?

[He smirks.] The loudmouth kid got you to vote, huh? I'd be lyin' if I said I wasn't tempted to do the same.

Bounty hunting and workin' for Aster are what I do. And I do wish the bounties came up more often.

Really? There are plenty of bounties...

[She hasn't followed the paper too closely, but she's glanced at it and observed one bounty per city each week.]

Eh, there's a reasonable amount. [He gives a quiet laugh.] But I might still be used to my old mercenary days never having a dull moment. Haven't quite adjusted to this whole 'being able to have a civilian life on the side' thing I got here.

[He tilted his head slightly.]

What about you? You look like you've got the eyes of a veteran fighter.

Ah, so you're a mercenary. That explains a lot.

[At least mercenaries were a common job in her world. The last comment especially piques her interest, and she flashes a bright smile.]

My, how perceptive. Most of my opponents assume I'm weak because I am a woman.

Regardless, I took up the sword to follow my brother's footsteps. I've been on a journey in search of him.

I know better than to doubt a woman. They've proven themselves to be much greater threats than men in a number of cases, and I sure wouldn't know what I do now without my sisters.

[Granted, he has the misfortune of now fighting for the opposite side of his sisters, but luckily he hasn't encountered them yet. He lifts his mask from his face.]

It's easy to tell just by lookin' at you that you know how to cut someone down with ease. What's your name?

I would agree with that, too. Most of the men I have faced were slow and cumbersome. I use my quickness to take them down before they can even attack.

[Granted, she does let them attack first, but she's just as good at dodging.]

I'm not above admitting that a man's ego can get to his head often as well, myself included. I've been put in my place a number of times for it.

[And he sure still needs it once in a while, but he's still slowly learning to know better. ...slowly.]

It sure can.

[She suppresses a giggle.]

But if there's one thing I like in a man, it's his willingness to get up even after being put in their place.

[He can't help but look a little smug.]

Hey, we can't stay down all the time. Some of us have a reputation to uphold, so even beautiful women can't keep us down forever.

Of course. I met a man like that in my own world. He just had to become the greatest warrior. Even when I knocked him out with my first stroke, he kept going, and he had improved since our first meeting.

And I'm sure he's got you to thank for that. It's pretty impressive how gettin' your ass kicked can be a good motivator.

[Sure worked for him a few times. He's not sure if it's determination, stubborness or stupidity. But he'll claim the former.]

Still, if you're renowned for that kind of skill, well, color me curious. I don't get to personally see a woman in action enough.

[He's fought plenty of women, but most of the time, the fights are in transforming aircraft so it doesn't quite have the same effect.]

I suppose. He claims he's never lost a battle before me, so I guess that would be a blow on his ego.

[There's only one thing to do about Gale's problem, though.]

Well, perhaps we could do something together. You said you like bounties, so perhaps we can both take on a job?

He knows that fighting with toys doesn't count as "never losing a battle" right?

[Yeah, he doesn't believe that guy's claim at all. He does grin at Karla's proposition.]

Well, I can't say no to an offer like that. Especially not that offer from a beautiful woman. Consider it a deal.

Well, he fought with axes...and those aren't toys.

[You sort of lost her with that comment, Gale. But aww, you so sweet...]

I'm glad it's over now, personally. Now we can all move on fromm for horrible this one was.

...Why do you think it was so horrible?

Because of all the lies and slander being flung about over some job. If that isn't horrible then I don't know what is.

This election was very....eventful you might say.

[He can't help but laugh slightly, but it had been interesting to say the least. Although he was still surprised he actually won of all things. He was sure Ted would get it again.]

But thank you for the luck... I will probably need it. Though I will enjoy it as well while I have the job.

I hope you do. I thought you were most suited for the job anyway. I'm not sure about the...Vlad person. And Ted doesn't strike me as a leader figure. He jests too much.

Ted can do the right thing when it comes to it, I've seen him help before so I know he can be capable. Though him forcing his own rules on the people without even asking them for me was a bit much.

We shouldn't try and change a world to much as it could have dire consequences after all.
