[Raye's been quiet all morning, lying on her couch and covered with a nice big fluffy comforter. She's been healing faster than normal, and she knows why. It's an incentive. A perk of the job she's been offered. It's true that she does need actual employment. She's been living prudently for a long while, and the extra income she sometimes makes when being heroic as Sailor Mars has boosted her means to pay for her expenses.]

[But the money's running out, and she needs to do something. It's just...difficult to forgive what happened to Harry. He died trying to save these guys, and they still made him give up pieces of himself. It's not fair, and it's not right! Why should she help them? Over and over she's had this same debate in her head, and it's left her pretty cranky and reclusive for the past two weeks. She rolls onto her side, frowning. Finally, she exhales. At least it's her own choice. She picks up her radio, and enters in her message.]

Fine. I'll do it.

[So there's Raye, wearing her priestess garments once more. She's also standing in front of a small, oriental-style shrine. It's not the same as the one back home, but it has most of the same features. There are cherry trees lining the stone pavillion, a little wooden hut to purchase good luck charms and fortunes, and the central building itself where a large Sacred Fire burns inside with the scents of incense and woodsmoke lingering in the air.]

Hey.

[Raye actually looks a little...subdued, like she's not quite sure how to say what she wants to say. That's rare for her.]

So I got offered a job to work as a sort of voice for the Spirits here. I still don't know much about them, but there are five, and they're the ones who put up the barriers and brought us here. They said it's for an important reason, but they don't think we're ready for the knowledge.

[She frowns, clearly disapproving.]

I'll pass on any important messages they bother to tell me. But don't ask me to pass on messages for you. You can do that already by communicating with the CPU, all right?

[Raye is not interested in being the go-between so people with anger issues can yell at her and say 'pass it on.' No.]

The shrine itself is pretty nice. If you need a place to enjoy some peace and quiet or just meditate for a little while, you're welcome here. But I don't want to see any fights, and I'll deal with you personally if you think it's a good idea to vandalize a sacred place!

[Huh. Raye did want a temple to be built, but he'd expected something a little different. He didn't think that Raye would be any 'voice' for 'spirits.' He didn't even think this place HAD spirits - especially if you could talk to a CPU. That just made things... complicated.]

Hey Raye. [Jaune's trying to look past her at the scene behind her curiously - and trying to turn his phone to do it, because he can be a bit of a dope.] Where is this place? I'll totally stop by.

[It's not blatantly obvious, but he can probably pick up that she's relieved to talk to him from the little smile on her face.]

It's on 8th and Thistle. When are you headed over?

[Jaune looks away from the screen, because it's obvious that he's inside Harry's little Sheriff shack.] I guess I was going to do a little ride-along with Harry, check some places out, make sure things are running okay. But right after that I should be able to get over there and check it out.

[Looking back to the screen, he tilts his head just a little aside.] You need anything? I am a Deputy Guardian. That means it's my job to help you out if you need it.

All right. Just give me a shout when you're ready to head over.

[She blinks at his offer, then smiles.]

Maybe just some hot tea to share. Thanks.

Hot tea! Right! Sure thing. But uh, say... is that, like, some kinda herbal tea? Or green tea? Or Chamomile tea...?

[Man, there are way too many teas out there. Jaune also lives off of carbonated sodas, so he doesn't know a lick about them.]

[It's cute that he's taking this so seriously.]

Anything is fine. You might like some kind of black tea, like oolong. It's more flavorful.

Ha! Oolong sounds stupid. The name, I mean. [He's laughing a bit.]

Alright, Oolong it is. I bet I can find some great tea right here in Everglade what with all the herbalists and stuff.

[She's kind of lucky to get someone that sweet, and thoughtful.]

Greetings. I realize we've spoken before and I've failed to introduce myself: my name is Milla Maxwell. I find it interesting that you, too, can commune with spirits. I've been able to feel them as well.

[That's right. In her world, and even here, Milla is very attuned to spirits. It makes sense, considering her position that she's failed to mention. Why, she could even 'feel' when spirits died... it's not a pleasant feeling.]

I would very much like to see this temple, if you would have me.

[She might be the first person Raye's met who had spirituality in common. That's got her interest.]

I'm a priestess back home. Communicating with spirits wasn't quite so literal before, though.

I'm Raye. You're welcome to visit any time you like.

[Milla nods.] It seems we have much in common. I am the physical manifestation of Maxwell - in my world, Maxwell is the Lord of Spirits. I have governance over all spirits, including the Four Prime Spirits, Udine, Gnome, Sylph, and Efreet.

Thank you for inviting me. I would very much like to see it. I used to live at a shrine myself, so it would be relaxing to be in similar surroundings.

Hopefully it stays relaxing. If we get another monster rampaging through the city, it had better watch its step!

That sounds pretty amazing! Though a little scary, too. Are they scary spirits?

[ She slightly shudders visibly on screen before smiling once again. ]

I'm Ene, nice to meet you! I just got here pretty recently, actually.

Not really. They're powerful, but they don't have any malice or ill intentions.

[For what THAT'S worth. It just makes them 'slightly tolerable' in Raye's book.]

Hi, Ene. I'm Raye. Are you settling in all right?

Well, I haven't found a definite place to stay, unfortunately, but someone did say I could stay on his phone if I really wanted to!

Wow, that's generous.

Well, it's a lot nicer than leaving the phone on the street to get run over... then I would just die!
