I. Video
[The face that appears on the video feed--compared to the sudden appearance of younger persons around town--is markedly more mature. Unlike most, Luke has aged up and is twenty-four now. Age and distance have weakened his accent, but only somewhat. Despite being a decade older, some mannerisms don't change: theapprentice young man is sitting at a table, chin in his hand, looking perplexedly at the camera.]
I've finally gotten over that cold. It absolutely did not take me ten years to do so, of that I'm positive. So how is it that one goes about missing so many years, then? Last I recall, I was running a tea shop. Now-- [The camera turns to reveal Suna--unchanged--sitting atop a stack of books. The largest reads Textbook of Veterinary Physiology, 5th Edition.] --Well, it already looks like I have a lot of studying to work on. Though, my calendar does still say I'm working at the shop!

[Some things are consistent. Luke will want to help, regardless of age. Teanie Teas is open, food spread on most tales, kettles set on the stove. The door is propped open just slightly. Several chairs have blankets and pillows arranged on them--he's clearly set up the small shop to act as a safe haven.]
Well. If there's a whole lot of children around who need help, I'm happy to. I wouldn't ask you lot to trust me without knowing me well, but I've still got Teanie Teas here. I'll keep the shop open all day, see here? And I'll have food, and drinks for any children who need it. I remember how hard it was being here, after all.
My flat has some room, as well, if anyone's interested. You'll need not mind Suna, is all. She likes a bit of attention.

Without a doubt Koishi was here.
"... ke... L...k... uke..." What was that- "Luke!" It was so much harder to make adults notice her!
With that shout the little youkai managed to reveal herself and- oh god she was TINY! Koishi had lost a foot of height, her clothes held on and together only by a very tightened belt. Her features were quite different. Leaner and more inhuman, with proportionally longer arms. Her movement was eerily smooth, her spine and neck shifting to keep her head steady at all times as she moved. In addition a set of sharp little teeth and sclera dyed black topped off the change, her left eye flickering and occasionally going out like in satsuki's office.
At the very least the nerve damage wasn't visible.
"Luke! You got big!" Her voice was higher pitched and had a vaguely inhuman ring to it. "And I'm so small! What's going on? Did you take my bigness? That's really clever but I really would like it back soon please."
Despite her clearly monstrous appearance she didn't seem angry or upset. Perhaps she just couldn't maintain a human form when so small.

[Apart from not wearing glasses, Conan looked exactly the same.]
Still 5
video;
Guess I'm not the only one who is now older. It's such an odd feeling isn't it?
video;
Well... I guess it might be something that will at least wear off in a few days or something. Most things that happen here tend to after all.
video;
Luke?
Re: video;
Talk about growing up.]
Oh. Hello, Miss Weiss. I see you were spared from shrinking or growing--that's rather nice. It's a bit... [Curious, Luke studies his hand. Older equals taller equals bigger.] ...odd, to say the least.
Re: video;
It doesn't make it less odd. [Luke adds, quickly.]
Re: video;
[Luke tilts his head, surprised to see someone else having aged up like he had.]
It's very weird. I didn't think I'd be so much taller, but I can reach things now!
video;
[She still couldn't help but chuckle slightly though.]
Feels werid though, but it will be interesting to do certain things we couldn't before.
video;
[He only gives a tiny smile, recalling a certain event in mind when he said that.]
video;
Odd? You sprouted like a tree!
[ He's much taller than Weiss now, she doesn't like it. Change it back. :( ]
Re: video;
Also, cut him some slack. He kind of didn't have to worry about shaving yesterday, being fourteen and all.]
Well--I've--
I'd noticed I was getting a bit taller, but nothing like this. I think I'm taller than my mum, now! And Emmy used to tease, saying she thought that would never happen. [And seeing as Luke has been quite smaller than his peers it's no surprise he'd be glad to see that he's grown so much.]
[Luke tilts his head, perplexed.] You don't suppose this will last, do you? Lots of things here in Genessia don't. Not that I mind it, per say--I would just prefer to grow up the old fashioned way. One day at a time, you know?
[Action]
Who knew what might've happened in ten years, anyway? Its not like he knew every detail, and things were definitely strange in Genessia.
And then, finally, Koishi snapped into focus. It startled him from the book he was studying (pretending to study. Relocating cans tended to be distracting, after all). Her inhuman form sent an uncomfortable chill down his spine, but Luke's reaction was markedly subdued compared to what he'd been like in Satsuki's office a few months back.
"Koishi?"
There's a tone to his voice that suggests genuine confusion, unfamiliarity. He recognized the voice enough, and certainly the mannerisms. Koishi was Koishi and there was not a doubt in his mind, but she seemed so...inhuman. Her form, very much monstrous appearance, triggered curiosity in him. Her movements were graceful, even though she was so small and skittish and quick. The student in him, coaxed carefully out through practice and dedication, can't help but be fascinated by how coordinated and smooth her movements were.
"I did get big, and you have most definitely gotten small. You're welcome to it, if you've any idea of how to make thing right again. I definitely do not," Luke smiles weakly at her.
And while his curiosity niggles at the back of his consciousness, he can't help but worry... "Do you feel all right?"
Re: [Video]
If he needed glasses all the time, he'd have a hard time figuring out who was who without them too. Right? That's how needing glasses really worked, at least he thought--he'd never properly needed them before.]
It's Luke, don't you remember? We've met before, though--ah. [The realization strikes him immediately, and Luke tilts his head at the camera, a bit concerned.] Well, I suppose this growing older or younger thing can also change our memory as well. In which case, I suppose we've not met before. So I ought not to be so rude.
I'm Luke. It's nice to meet you.
Re: Still 5
Luke blinks at Ted, and the camera. At least, he presumes it's Ted--it' coming from Ted's device anyway.]
Mr. Ted?
Re: Still 5
Re: [Action]
At least she was relaxed. Probably because Luke wasn't afraid.
"I feel okay. I've lost a lot of mana but my youki is fine." She looked around, setting her hat on the table before moving to a chair and hopping up. She used the seat as a step and grabbing the edge of the table, vaulting herself on top of it in one graceful movement. It was easy to see why they were depicted as monkeys. "I can't fly though, and I'm burning a lot of strength. This was my form over three centuries ago."
Koishi seemed a bit upset, but not overly so. "I think its another one of those things that happens. Like when my eye opened a long, long time ago when I first came here. Smoothed over with small grains and left in the sun and supporting too much..." She knelt down, wringing her hands a little bit. "I would go home but it would be hard to get there without flying, so I came here instead. I was really nearby... That and I don't want to spend too much strength. Younger formed satori get hungry very easily and I'm pretty sure I can't eat vegetables without making myself sick right now." A pause. "Not that kind of hungry, Luke. I know how to be careful with my youki, even if my form is inefficient."
Re: [Action]
Luke cracked a grin, unable to hide a snicker. Still, there's a hint of wistfulness to his tone. Something about another ten years, a total of eleven away from home, growing up without seeing his family again, rather offered itself to a bit of a melancholic response. "Mum would be cross, but I can't help but think that I used to tell her I could've eat vegetables without getting sick either."
Remembering Koishi might be harder in the strictest sense, but the youkai had his entire attention for the time being, and despite his more advanced age his creative mind hadn't changed in that respect. If he noticed that Koishi had seemed concerned about his ability to see her, to recognize her, he made a deliberate attempt to ignore it. Instead, he ushered her towards the couch.
"Well, you know you're always welcome to stay, Koishi," Luke finally states. "I don't want you to get sick. But, we probably should call Miss Satori as well, and make sure she knows you're here. If this has been going on in Genessia City, I imagine it's going on throughout all the cities. Even if it isn't, she'll worry if you're not home."

I'm not either of those. We've met before!
Re: video;
And...ah, well--I've always been much shorter than my classmates. I always knew I'd eventually get taller, but I didn't really expect to get so much taller, so quickly. Besides, my mum and dad aren't that tall. I didn't know what to expect.
[He pauses.] What're you planning on doing that you couldn't do before, anyway?
Re: video;
Certainly. I skipped a whole ten years. It feels a bit like they've happened--but at the same time, it feels rather like they've not. I don't think I'd like to go about missing ten years of my life.
[Action]
She watched him cross the room, her eye floating a bit further away than usual. She flinched, the black lines briefly visible as she reached up to rub her scar, left eye going out momentarily.
"No. You don't have to call sis. I'm out for days sometimes. It's okay." A pause. "... But maybe if things don't get better you could call Miss White? I bet she could get Mister Big to take me home."
She watched him for another moment, standing in one fluid motion and hopping down lightly. She crossed the floor to the couch in a few quick strides. She left her hat on the table. "And my shoes are under the bush out front. Don't let me forget them, okay?" A small hop and she was up on the couch, legs crossed. She grabbed one of the pillows, kneading it nervously with her claws. It wasn't causing any damage... yet.

"Wow, really? I don't remember. What's your name?"
video;
[ It's would be pretty damn weird if everyone suddenly got older like that. ]
video;
I guess reach shelves to get things I wouldn't be able to normally. You know like when you go grocery shopping.
video;
[He thinks, he can't be sure really.]
Re: [Video]
That sounds dumb. People can't just get older or younger.
[He frowns stubbornly. Who was this guy anyway? Shinichi refused to believe he could just forget someone. He spent a lot of time trying to improve his memory, because a detective needed to be able to remember everything.]
I'm Shinichi Kudo.
II
U-Uhm... H-Hello?
Video;
I'm glad to see that you're feeling better. Sorry.
Video;
Don't apologize. It happens. Besides, it was worth it to help out. Saw to it that you got somewhere safe and warm, and that was the point, wasn't it? [Growing up has made him taller, but it has no changed that Luke is still a happy-go-lucky kid, evidently.]
Are you doing well, Miss Ib? I hope Mr. Garry's not aged downwards.
Re: [Action]
"I won't let you forget your shoes. Do you want me to get them now?"
He crossing to the kitchen, to the refrigerator, thinking. "Do I have any meat? I'm not sure. I haven't been to the shop in ages. I'd wanted to go before I got sick, but--ah. Well, that was a good ten years ago, wasn't it? I suppose a lot has happened since then. I'll just have to see what's here."
The apprentice--now veterinary student might be more appropriate--digs into the fridge, and a triumphant "aha!" can be heard as he pops back, holding up a small container. It's not much--chicken from dinner the other night, he presumes--but it is better than nothing. Luke returns to the couch, offering it to Koishi.
Sitting next to her, he's markedly taller. As an adult he's grown some height, a change for which he's very thankful. Opening the container, he offers it to her, before crossing his arms. "I can call Miss Kiryuin, but what if she's become small too?"
The the seriousness in his tone fades, and he can hardly conceal laughter. "Can you imagine if Mr. Big is small, as well? I don't think Mr. Gamagori would like being small."
Re: [Video]
Not to mention--just saying, Shinichi--that you are kind of a little snot.]
Very strange things happen in Genessia.
That's not really the point, though. Are you all right? Do you need anything?
no subject
He pauses, tilting his head at Ted. "Why did you call me hang man? That's a strange name for someone."
video;
[Luke tilted his head, sighing.]
Is this what adults think about? Going to the market, and cleaning the house? It's dreadfully boring.
video;
If this were all real, I'd know that ten years had happened--but that I don't remember a bit of them. They're just a big, empty space.
It does feel rather empty, I suppose.

Oh, please come in! You'll catch your death of a cold outside in just that. It's very cold out there!
[He ushered her inside, settling Mikasa at the counter. It was one of the warmest seats in the house. He also found a blanket, and provided it to her, tucking it around her shoulders.]
Do you like tea? I've got plenty. It will warm you right up, if you like. Or hot chocolate, if you'd prefer that!

Ted rapidly forgot and un-forgot who he was talking to, what with being 5 and his memories of Luke looking weirder all the time.
"Oh, Hi Luke, I'm Ted. Wow, you're the second Luke I know. Are you the one from Star Wars? With the cool lightsaber? lightsaber noises"
no subject
Luke makes the executive decision--a probably wise one--to not mention that he has no idea what Ted is talking about. Hopefully he won't be bombarded with questions.
no subject
"Oh, yeah that makes sense. Your hair's too brown. The other Luke had brown hair too, but he was smaller. Probably smaller than me! Do you know that Luke too? No fair; I wanna know another Ted!"
video;
[She laughs slightly.]
I don't know, but I think they do talk about other things.
video;
I'm just lucky it didn't bother with me.
[Action]
"You don't have to get my shoes. I just have to not forget them. I guess if I do though I could come back for them..." Her third eye bobbed a little.
She actually stopped kneading the pillow when he crossed into the kitchen, the little youkai leaning forward a little. Luke had all of her attention now. She swallowed, eyes brightening significantly as he brought the container over. It didn't matter that it was cooked or leftovers. She was quite hungry. And, honestly, the fact that the food had belonged to Luke before would actually be a good thing.
She took the container, ignoring the height difference for now, eating it in at least a somewhat civilized manner. Of course, civilized dining rarely saw people eating bones. But She had mentioned before how much she liked them.
"Thank you Luke. This should keep me stable for awhile at least." At least she wasn't talking with her mouth full.
At the mention of Satsuki, Koishi perked up a bit, pausing in her munching. "Mm... I don't know. I can't imagine becoming small would change Miss White all that much." A pause. "I can't imagine a tiny Mister Big though. It doesn't seem like it would be possible."
Video;
Mmm... It's strange... I don't think anything has happened to him.
no subject
[It was cold outside, so she welcomed the warmth. She wasn't familiar with either from the top of her head, but the latter had 'hot' in it...]
Can I... have some hot chocolate...?
Re: [Video]
[His roommate had very helpfully explained that his parents had gone off on a trip together and left him with a babysitter in Genessia City in Norway. With his parents it made sense. ]
I'm fine. That weird babysitter is taking care of me.
[Not that he was happy about having a babysitter. ]
