[ First thing that happens when Akira shows up makes him forget all about having just read a weird instruction manual. It also makes him forget even having a name.

So the suddenly seven year old boy is unsettled about suddenly being in a strange place, wearing clothes and holding papers and a thing that he can't remember having before. It's not like he can read, either, so he can't exactly get any clues from the pamphlet. And he has to roll up his sleeves and pants legs and he can't wear the shoes he was wearing.

The only thing he can do is look around. He's very clearly lost. And confused over wearing such clean, whole clothes, even if they're also way too big for him. ]

[There is a slight hum in the back of her throat as she stops in front of the small child. Her eyes are a bright red though they look passively at the boy.]

If you stand in the middle of the sidewalk someone's going to run into you.

[Ib's noticed the strange aging thing but she doesn't care. She already has to see and worry about the nine year old version of herself. She doesn't want to have to deal with other children too.]

[ Red eyes.. He has never seen a person with red eyes before. ]

[ Even if he has been accused of being at fault way too many times and gotten in trouble when he's denied being to blame. ]

[Her head tilts lightly as a light smile pulls as her lips.]

[ He's seven, he's not short for his age. Scrawny and underweight, sure, but he's not short. ]

[The look on his face made it worth the comment. He isn't particularly short but since Ib's twelve years older than him she can at least get away with teasing him a little bit.]

Yup. I think it's a good nickname.

[She looks thoughtful for a moment.]

[ "Shorty" is rude. Really rude. He might not have a name but that nickname was uncalled for. ]

[She lightly taps his head, her thin fingers running through his hair before she quickly steps away.]

Okay then give me a suggestion? I'm only going to think of some thing worse.

[ Alice is on her way to go buy some fresh fish (the best fish are in Fayren since they're right on the water after all) and she happens to be passing by when she sees what looks like it might.. be a familiar face. Might be.

It's just way too tiny.

Hayama's definitely getting an Alice crouched down right next to him and staring at him intensely. ]

[ He's not used to people suddenly doing that. Stopping in front of him like that.

So he takes a step back to put a little bit more space between them, giving her a wary look. ]

Name? I don't have one.

You don't have one? What kind of kid doesn't have at least a name?

[ Alice isn't people, she's.. Alice. She does what she wants. ]

Does your dad look like you, but really serious all the time, make annoying comments about what I can and can't do, and have an extremely sensitive nose?

[ Clearly, this is Hayama's illegitimate son. She saw it in a romcom once, it's probably more common than she realized. Actually, this kid kind of looks really serious all the time, but bitty. Oh well. ]

The kind that doesn't have anyone to name him.

[ What... is this... People getting close usually means trouble.. Well, he's got a feeling she's trouble too, but in another way. A sort of non-violent way. ]

I don't know, but I have a sensitive nose.

[ Why is she asking such specific stuff? Does she know something he doesn't? (She does have light hair, does that mean something...) ]

[ She's stumbled on something big! Something huge! She's going to have to tell Ryo about this. Or just take the kid home, that's probably okay right? He's kind of cute, like a grumpy cat. There's not much room in the one-bedroom apartment they have, but it's fine, he's small enough to sleep on the couch or the floor probably. At least he won't freeze on the couch.

If there's a world in which Alice doesn't just decide to take tiny, pissy children home it's not this one. ]

[ Sleeping on anything not the hard cold ground would be an incredible upgrade, even if it was just a floor. Not that he intends to come with her anywhere. She's a stranger, strangers could be dangerous! And she was definitely fishy, too! ]

[ He backs even further away from her. ]

[Yukiko was rather glad the snow had decided to stop at least which meant that while the cold was still around it wasn't harder to move around to places and Yukiko was using that opportunity to attempt to get a good few things done and maybe even get some training done as well. After all that was something she had wanted to start doing.

As she turned the corner and stopped. That was not something you see everyday. A child in baggy clothing.]

[ He stops in his way, ignoring entirely that he's freezing and hungry.

He's more focused on the stranger = danger part, because strangers can really be dangerous, he knows from experience. ]

Yeah. Why shouldn't I be?

Because if your a new arrival this place is usually strange and new. I would know considering I arrived here a year ago myself.

[She kept her arms to the side since she wasn't carrying anything for the moment.]

[ A year could be enough time to forget though, he's pretty sure. ]

[ Because he has no idea where he is. ]

This place is Genessia.

[She gestures around her to show this whole place was the same thing.]

There are other cities, but we currently aren't in them.

Genessia?

[ He has never heard of a place like that. Not that he knows about a lot of placces unless he's heard of tourists coming from there. ]

What are the other ones called?

[Yugi was setting out the board that he placed outside whenever there was a new game coming out as he glanced on over.]

Hey, you look a little lost... and I guess you are someone whose not native around here judging by the clothes being too lose.

[ That was a weird way of deciding that he wasn't from around here.. ]

Because the natives here aren't as confused as you or wear clothes that are much bigger than they actually are.

[ He doesn't like hearing that -- it made this even weirder. It sounded as if everyone was able to afford clothes properly, instead of having to steal them and wear for years after. Not that he knew where the clothes he was wearing had come from, but none the less. ]
