[Video; Filtered to Weiss]
Excuse me, Weiss? It's Athrun Zala. Since you're our new Guardian, there's a matter I need to discuss with you. As soon as possible. It's something I was working with Satsuki with; maybe you've seen it in whatever files she's left behind, I don't know.
In fact, let me show it to you.
[The camera pans away, then upwards. A giant robot is standing in an empty lot. Buildings surround it on three sides, tall enough to obscure it from vision unless one walks down a specific street. But it's plenty distinctive when visible. Athrun then recites the location of the lot where it's being kept.]
If you want to see me now, that's fine. I've got diagnostics to run, so I'll be around for a few hours yet. Let me know.
[Action, Nova City]
[As he said in his message to Weiss, Athrun is running diagnostics tests on his Gundam in an open lot in Nova City. The Infinite Justice has numerous intricate systems, and he has to make sure that they're all working at maximum efficiency. While David had been kind enough to shrink it for storage, Athrun has to return it to normal to run tests.
So, right now, the Gundam is in the city and visible to anyone who walks down the street it's on. The cockpit hatch, located in the upper chest, is clearly open, and though he can't be seen, he can probably be heard either muttering to himself or typing rapidly on the machine's computer terminal.
Call out to him? Rap on the Gundam's foot? Just stand and stare? Up to you!]

Isn't that an impressive beast. What the hell is it and where can I get one?
action;
It's not in the way, is it? It's called a mobile suit. This one's personally assigned to me.
[He'll refrain from answering that last bit. He would hope that it's obviously military equipment.]
action;
In the way? Nah. [He's the one that flocked over to it because he does love giant robots.]
Mobile suit, huh? Reminds me of the alterna frames I had at home. If not a little bigger. It's an impressive machine just at a glance.
[And he thought the Tomcats were huge.]
action;
Mine is also unique compared to other mobile suits at home. It's not a mass-produced model.
Would you mind telling me about these "alterna frames" you mentioned?
action;
These things must cost a fortune. I'm not surprised it's the only one of its type.
Alternas were pretty pricy too, but they were becoming standard military air force equipment since they were variable jet aircraft that could transform into robots like this. That made 'em more effective than standard jets in a lot of ways, but it sure made training and manufacturing budgets skyrocket.
action;
There have been fewer than twenty Gundam-class mobile suits made. Each has been far more powerful than mobile suit technology at the time, each has been unique...and each has been costly.
I don't doubt it based on that. Orb also uses a mobile suit with a transformable frame. They're more advanced and more powerful than our standard M1 Astray, but also much more costly. We manufacture roughly one Murasame for every four M1s.
action;
[He lifts his eyebrows in intrigue.]
So there is another world that's got variables, huh? I'd started to wonder if it was an exclusive to home. You ever get to fly one of 'em, or is this your personal machine?
action;
It comes as part of the repair budget for the military.
I've never been able to fly one of the Murasames, but I have piloted mobile suits with transformable frames before. In fact, my first mobile suit was one such design.
action;
[And the Gripen a little, but he sure didn't miss the mental strain that it put on him. He turns away from the Gundam and extends his hand towards Athrun.]
Name's Gale. I remember seein' you at that bounty meeting a week ago.
action;
Athrun Zala. I remember seeing you there, too. I'm glad everything went well.
action;
[Hopefully they'd stop entirely. He doesn't want cyborgs getting a bad name.]
You a bounty hunter or do you work for Aster too?
action;
[Athrun shakes his head.]
I'm an Aster employee -- one of their hardware engineers. I've got plenty of experience and education under my belt, and I wanted to see if I could hold down a job other than that of a professional soldier. As it turns out, I can.
So you work there, too? What as?

[ It vaguely reminds her of something she once fought, though Athrun's is a bit.. taller. ]
I'll be down as soon as I can to discuss it with you further.

All right. I'll just continue what I'm doing in the meantime.
...And yeah. The Infinite Justice is about par for the course for mobile suit size -- well, excepting the backpack. That's unique.

[ She's pretty sure she should call Ruby. At the very most she can tell Athrun that Ruby's some kind of weapons specialist, but she's fairly certain she'd never hear the end of it if she didn't let Ruby see it. ]
I hope you don't mind if I bring a consultant with me?

[He pauses for a few seconds to think. Then he nods.]
Go ahead. It should be fine.
[There's a convenience store nearby. He'll probably run there to grab some drinks for Weiss and, now, her "consultant."]

I'll see you soon.

[When they arrive, Weiss and Ruby will find Athrun standing at his Gundam's foot. There also appears to be a cable hanging from the chest, with the very front portion of the upper chest extended forward -- that appears to be the cockpit hatch, currently open.
Also sitting on the Gundam's toe is a pair of bottles of cola.]
action
Uh, Weiss...? What exactly does a consultant do? I mean... I'm not exactly an expert on many... things...
[She trailed off as they rounded a corner and Ruby caught sight of the Gundam. She stopped in her tracks, jaw going slack for a moment as she just... stared. A long moment later however, and she'd disappear into a cloud of rose petals and zoom on up to the Gundam oohing, and awww-ing at it.]
I know Atlas had robots but nothing as cool as this!
action
[ And Ruby's gone. Weiss's tone takes a nosedive into disappointment. ]
Professional...
[ There may be some internal sobbing happening. 100% internal though. Oh well. Allowing Ruby to do her thing, Weiss goes to greet Athrun with a polite curtsy. ]
It's nice to see you again Athrun. You'll have to pardon my partner, she can be a little... eccentric when it comes to weapons.
action
What the--
[who what where when WHY WAS SHE SO FAST--
Yeah, that startled him. Not badly enough to draw a weapon, but he definitely finds himself in a defensive position. Luckily she stops a bit away, leaving him with nothing but astonishment.
He can't help but stare a bit, though he diverts his attention to Weiss as she greets him. At the curtsy, he reflexively bows his head and shoulders.]
Er, um. Yes, you too, Weiss.
[At Weiss's comment about Ruby, he looks over at her, where she's busy fawning over the Infinite Justice.]
It...does look that way, yes. I've never seen anyone move like that.
[Then his gaze returns to Weiss.]
When you said you were bringing a consultant, I, uh, didn't realize Ruby was who you meant. Does she have an engineering background, or is she just...er, enthusiastic about combat devices?
action
My Uncle Qrow taught me everything he knew about making weapons, and everyone at Signal Academy forges their own weapon, and I made a highly customizable, high impact sniper scythe. I call her Crescent Rose~!
[And once that introduction is made, she folds the weapon back up, replacing it at the small of her back.]
action
[ She'll just be here rewording what Ruby said to sound professional, thanks. ]
She's also very fast.

... Hey, the cockpit thing at the top seems to be open. Time for Vanellope to do what she does best. ... which is teleport on top of the nearest building to try and see who's in there.]
Hey! Anyone in there?
[Action]
However, he still doesn't see whomever it was that called to him.]
Where are you?
