Haberdashery (Backdated to Jan 11th, Late noon)

Satsuki finally returned home after the ceremony clean-up in Genessia, adorn in her kimono and sandals. However before she goes to change into something a bit more casual, there's something rather important she needs to take care of while it's fresh on her mind.

The moment the apartment door opens, she beelines through the kitchen toward Nui's room. As far as she's concerned the chances of her actually being outside doing something productive is extremely low. Actually, was Nui messing around elsewhere? Satsuki takes a quick look and if she isn't about then she'll knock on the little monster's bedroom door.

The knock got no response, but Satsuki's device conveniently started to buzz. A text from Nui.

Satsuki frowns. Of all days that Nui would actually be outside, it would be today, wouldn't I-

*VZZZZ*

Satsuki looks to the device and first looks taken aback. Then her cheeks flare a bright, hot red. What is she looking at? No, seriously, what the hell is she looking at? How did this become a thing that happened? Is this real life right now??

Satsuki counts to ten to try to regain her composure. ... Nope. She's still mad. A text is sent back.


Who is that?

It's the costume I'm making you for your next public event, or photo shoot, or Halloween, whichever one comes first!

[ She'd find a way to make Satsuki wear it, even if it involved stealing all the clothes out of her house besides this outfit.

Actually that sounded like something fun to do even without a spare outfit. ]

[Satsuki's brows furrow as her heart continues to pound. In retrospect, she should have known. On the other hand, one can never really tell with Nui, can they? Either way, Nui is dead to her.

Wait. Crap, no she isn't.

And while there are a several things very wrong with this picture, there is one that is particularly grating.]

[SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGH. Satsuki scowls at the text, though lot of good it does her. The heart is particularly annoying.]

Anyway, when are you coming by to check out the new place? Or old place, really! It's kind of funny how it works!

[ Why yes, she did totally just sidestep the question, Satsuki. ]

What are you talking about? Where are you?

[Are you with any boys?? Satsuki hates this part of being the mother hen. It's the worst. Slight exaggeration.]

Oh, did I never tell you?

[ You know goddamn well you didn't, Nui. Also, boys, Satsuki? What is she supposed to do with those? Now girls on the other hand... ]

[Outside, huh. Satsuki isn't really sure what to expect, though she thinks she's prepared for the worst. What could it be? And, more importantly, were those extra 'e's necessary?]

I will be there in seven minutes.

[That said, she'll go outside all right. She eventually decides to prepare to be disappointed. What would really be nice is if Nui finally found work!

She ends up throwing on something casual-ish, hair still pinned up and steps outside in a light color blouse and pants.]

[ Nui arrived promptly in seven minutes wearing a new pink outfit. ]

There you are, Satsuki-chan, what took you so long!

[ She grabs Satsuki's hand and starts pulling her along the street at a skipping pace. ]

I can't wait for you to see it!!! <3

[That's a rather cute outfit. Satsuki dares not say it aloud, and once Nui takes her hand she, at that moment, swears to never tell her. She growls a little, though it could be mistaken for being annoyed at being dragged along like a stuffed doll and attempts to pull it back.]

I can follow along on my own.

[Though maybe escaping isn't that simple. Either way she keeps the pace with slightly flushed cheeks, and not the slightest clue where they're headed- And she knows Nova City quite well!

Whatever it is, please let it not be illegal.]

[ She eventually drags/wrangles/bounces around excitedly/leads Satsuki to the Nova City subarchway entrances. ]

Come on!

[ She hops through.

On the other side, Nui is waiting expectantly on the other side with a smile as wide as the horizon, waiting to see Satsuki's reaction to a familiar setting. ]

[A subarchway? Satsuki grew increasingly hesitant as they grew closer but.. There's no way. Surely Nui wouldn't do something that crazy would she?

A step through reveals that yes, as a matter of fact she is. At first there's a surge of annoyance; of course she wouldn't want an archway to their world opened. She told the tiny one as such.

But after getting a good, long look. How many years has it been since she saw that estate? For the moment she simply stands there with an expression of shock.]

[Well. She is surprised all right. Damn. It. Nui.]

With Lady Ragyo here, or at least a version of her, we can continue the plan here!!!

[ She seemed so sincerely excited at this prospect, if Nui could be trusted to be sincere about anything. ]

I've already started the process to get REVOCS up and running!!! How long do you think it'll take us to take over the clothing industry of all four cities, you think???

[ She draped herself on Satsuki, stroking Satsuki's side and murmuring into her ear. ]

Satchin is really good at that part, isn't she? And now that you don't have a guardian obligation thing, you're free, right? You know I'm no good at running things, but Lady Ragyo thinks you'd be great at running the store...

.. Ah.

[Continue the plan here? Well, she doesn't want to do that for a number of reasons- And dammit, this isn't what she meant when she wanted Nui to look for a job? That aside, she felt a sinking sensation in her stomach and she might even be a bit pale, just staring at the familiar land.]

I-

[A chill runs up her spine in response to Nui's complete invasion of her personal space, though clearly she's just surprised because of Nui's grande idea, right? ... Y- Yeah.]

... While I did not intend to give up my political career so easily, the idea does open other possibilities.
