Second Verse - Action/Video

Action:

(Her eyes felt like glass and it took a few moments to get them to open for a minute to see the familiar set up. Had she been dreaming about that? About having to run away - well drive away? About...being blown? Did any of that really happen? But, if that had been a dream? Wouldn't she had woken up in the apartment here? Or in the shop?

She couldn't remember where she had fallen asleep last, but she supposed it didn't matter very much - she still felt so tired, so nervous. Then a small voice in her head began to chide her to just rest some more. She was without a good night's sleep to begin with.

"Maybe going back to sleep was best for now..."

The woman tried to run onto her side but was stopped by the weight of the familiar box lying on top of her and the fact the box she was lying in was more confined than a bed. This caused a few light curses to escape her and she moved herself back onto her back.

She tried to let herself drift back into sleep and it seemed like she had succeeded for a few moments but she found herself muttering,)

"This is very uncomfortable. I can't sleep like this..."

(Then she sighed and forced herself upright before opening the box and pulling out the necklace and the wad of red bills. Then she fumbled for the device and took a moment before turning it on and putting it on video.)

Uh, um...hey, it's Marie... and I mean, before anyone thinks I need help figuring out what to do here before...I still remember so you don't have to worry about that.

(The woman tries to smile, but she looks slightly uneasy and even spooked. Even more than that, she looked as if she had been robbed of a good night's sleep.)

Well... I guess it doesn't really matter that I'm doing this, but.... I guess I'm back? Or something...

(The video cuts and she lets herself fall back into place. She will just rest a few more moments before wandering out of here and hopefully managing to go to the closest place she ever had to a home again.)

Welcome back, I guess I should say then~

Uh, thanks. (Her smile seems to come a bit easier.)

...Anything interesting happen while I was away?

If you are talking about the random teleporting that is going on right now, then that is all that is happening.

Random teleporting? (Her head tilts slightly at that.) I didn't know about that...

No one did until something happened to the sky somewhere. Then if you get teleported is always random.

Had it happen a couple times. I thought it was fun.

Random? You mean anywhere at all, as in anyplace that's anywhere? Or just anywhere here?

It would be kind of cool to have happen, I think...so it was fun?

Only within the five cities, including the sub archways, so it won't take you home or anything.

For me, but it's been awkward or not fun for others.

(Marie looks a little bit relieved at being told she wouldn't just pop back to where she came from again.)

Good, good...I'm glad that it that won't do that.

(She finds herself frowning a bit.) Well, I suppose not having a say in where you end up can make it...not very fun...

I guess there's a price with random teleportation or something...

I haven't got a clue at all.

[He said with a smile clearly on his face.]

But that is why it wasn't fun for people. Ruins peoples things as well if they are carrying something.

Well, what's one more mystery in this place.

(She looks thoughtful for a moment before adding this.)

You know...

I suppose I would be annoyed if I was carrying something and it got ruined because I dropped it or it got squished or something because I was being teleported...

I guess I would as well. But so far, I've been lucky with not having anything when it's happened.

But maybe you'll be luckier and have it not happen to you.

[Aqua smiles fondly at the screen.]

It's good to see you again. I have your practice daggers if you wish to keep going.

[She had made sure to retrieve them since they were Marie's and no one elses.]

Oh, hi... it's good to see you too...

(She nods and softly.) Yeah, I think I want to keep going. It only felt like a little while I was gone, but...I kind of missed training.

(A pause.) Wait, you have them?

[Aqua nods her head with a soft smile tugging at her lips.]

I went to find you when you didn't show up at practice. I found them then and kept them in case I saw you again.

[She had hope.]

I'm glad to see that you are alright.

(Marie looks a little puzzled. Aqua had gone looking for her? And kept her practice daggers?

She is actually more than a little surprised and touched.)

I...I didn't mean to miss practice. Sorry about that and well, thanks for holding onto them.

(She tries to grin.)

Well, I somehow always come through without too much damage. I told someone once before that I was like a bad cold...you can't really get rid of me that easily.

(Of course she might misunderstand that saying.)

[Aqua just smiles and shakes her head.]

I'll never stop looking for my friends. I'm glad to see you are safe.

[She has suffer the lost of those close to her and it doesn't matter who it is who leaves, it hurts and it's a pain that isn't healed by anything.]

(Marie makes it a point to not discuss what happened before she ended up back in this world. She doesn't want to make Aqua worry anymore.

Also, deep down, she never quite knows how to react to being told things like what Aqua she told her. She isn't so used to people caring enough her to worry and even try to do something about it. Really only one person even did before.

She then finds herself grinning even more, though she is pushing it a bit.)

Yeah, I am here and in one piece. Safe and sound. Not a lot happened where I was...

It was boring, actually. I prefer being here.

[Aqua just smiles and shakes her head.]

You don't have to tell me Marie. [She's honestly just glad that she's safe.]

You should take some time to rest before we start up practice again.

(The woman nods her face falling slightly. She doesn't feel quite up to trying to, she isn't too sure she ever will be.

Besides, the thought of things there just being boring was tempting to hold onto.)

Thanks. Maybe some other time, not now, but later.

(She then pauses.) Are you sure about that? I mean, if you wanted to start up soon...then I can manage practice.

[Aqua nods her head willing to leave what Marie's been up to at that. Aqua rarely talks about herself and her own past she doesn't fault others from keeping it a secret.]

Yes, I'm ready whenever you are. Whether it's sooner or later.

[She wants Marie to relax and get used to things here again.]

You don't need anything do you?

I think sooner would be okay.

(She is exhausted, but she feels like once she's able to find it in her to stand up and leave the area she is in, she will not be able to rest so easily. Not for a while anyway.

She would have to fall down first.)

Do I need anything?

(She looks down and seems to give the question some thought for a moment, before looking back up and shaking her head.)

I don't know. I haven't left the Bay yet... I'm not sure if I need to go and try to get the old apartment back or my shop if it hasn't been taken over yet. Still, I'm not really sure what I need and don't need.

[Aqua still has the same slot open in her schedule as if expecting her student to one day return to the city.]

I have everything you need with me though I might pick up water.

[She nods.]

I suggest getting your apartment situated first. I'll see you after, I have time today so any time you are ready.

I'll leave now and take care of that. Can we meet after that? I can call once I'm done?

(ooc: Want to time skip to training?)

Alright. I'll set things up for you.

[She smiles before flipping the camera off and setting things together for their training session.]

(After a little over an hour - the last chunk of that time was spent walking to training and trying to take in the sights, trying to piece together what had seemingly happened and trying to think of what she could do now that she was on her own in this world.

Not that she wasn't used to having to take care of herself. She had spent years doing that. It wouldn't be any harder than it had been in the past.

Getting the store and the apartment back was simple enough, at least.

She enters the training center with a serious expression on her face but she lets herself smile when she sees Aqua.)

I hope I didn't take too long...

[Aqua smiles in turn and walks forward to give her student a hug. She missed her even if the girl hadn't been gone for very long. Time, for Aqua, has a strange flow considering her time spent in darkness, which is also why she cherishes every moment that she can.]

It's good to see you.

[Her smile widens slightly and she moves away to pick up the two finely crafted wooden daggers.]

Show me what you remember.

Oh, thank goodness! I thought you had left for bad. Don't scare me like that.

Left for bad? I honestly thought it was "left for good" and not that.... (She can't help but laugh a little at that one.) I'll try not to anymore.

[That's interesting enough to pay attention.]

You remember, huh? So...you didn't just go to the dream docks. You actually left...and then you ended up here again.

[He looks interested.]

That's new. [At least it's new to him.]

I...suppose I do remember and no I didn't go to the dream docks. (She frowns. It's nothing personal but she's finding herself feeling a bit nervous by what he's saying.)

I'm not sure what you mean by "that's new" but that's just how it happened for me...

I'd rather not question it, I mean I would be lying if I didn't want to know, bt at the same time I'm just happy to be back right now...

[He shrugs.] I've just never heard of someone leaving, coming back, and remembering the place before. I might have just missed it. Who knows?

How long were you out?

I haven't either. We might have missed it. It's hard to say.

(She shakes her head.)

Yeah, who really knows...this place is...well, it's different. Who knows if there's really any rules to how it works.

How long? Well, where I came from...only a few hours, I think. (She seems to be in thought.) But here? I don't really know how long it's been here.

[He nods.]

Check the calendar on your phone, if you remember what day it was when you last checked it.

[If nothing else, Ronan's a facts guy (go figure, right?)]

I think...I remember what day it was. (Marie pauses and then glances down at the device in her hands.) January 24th.

(She frowns.) Mind giving me a minute to check it?

[He shakes his head and motions.]

Go right ahead. I'm curious.

(Marie nods and fiddles with the device. She is quiet for a long moment before nodding. Her voice is a bit strained when she finally speaks.)

It...really has been a couple of weeks, but where I was...it really was only a couple of hours.

[Ronan nods, making a mental note of the information.]

So, time passes back home when we go back to it, but it doesn't stop here when we leave.

In my case? Yes, I suppose that's what happened. Well, um, it seems to be the case.

(She frowns.)

I'm not really an expert in how universes and timelines and things that they talk about in the movies work, but...maybe I just got placed back where I was supposed to be or there's a double or something running around while I'm here?

...Any case, it sounds...impossible.

...considering how weird this place is, that's not really that far-fetched, lady.

[And now she's put that bug in his ear.]

I don't want to think about another me running around out there.
