For those who knew him...Kira Yamato has disappeared. He's completely gone from our apartment. So he was sent home.

It's...weird. I'm unhappy that he's gone, but...I feel like I should also be relieved. I mean, he's back home. But now...that just leaves me as the only person from my world here. It leaves me feeling lonely.

To those who have been in a similar spot: How did you cope? I could use the advice.

I know. It isn't the first time I've lost loved ones. However, in that case, I always knew that it was permanent. This time, I know its permanence is far from certain.

I always put it this way. The longer it goes, the less likely it seems that person will actually come back.

[Athrun being Athrun, he approaches the statement from a logical standpoint. Statistically, the statement makes no sense, because no matter how much time passes, the odds at any given moment of Kira returning should be the same.

Of course, logic and emotion are two very different things.]

If nothing else, it probably seems that way.

[Well considering how long he had been here and how often anyone he knew came along, it was rare.]

Probably, but after being here for nearly two years and only really had three people I know show up. It's not something that would be common to happen. But I do like to think things are going on okay back wherever the people who aren't here are.

I've been given the impression that time ceases while we're here -- that when we return, it's to the moment we first left. I remember Terra telling me something of the sort when she first returned here.

True, however we age and change here ourselves. Plus with arrivals it's the case of the unknown of who will arrive and when.

None of those apply when we're sent home, though, or so I've been led to understand.

Which is a shame really. Because were so different by being here that what we learnt could help.

Maybe that's the point. They don't want to interrupt the natural flow of events. Even the slightest alteration, even with the best of intentions, could irrevocably change history for the worse.

True, but could be for the better. But I guess it makes sense for not wanting to change history. I vowed to never do that, personally.

Though I had a few things I wish I could change though.

Everyone does. I'd flat out refuse to believe someone who said they had things they wish they could change.

But there's no use dwelling on the past. Don't forget it, but don't let it control you.

No words could be truer. Took me a while to actually learn that and understand it anyway.
