[Video]Yukihira Restaurant Opens!

[Coming into view on the camera would be an image of a small restaurant, wooden tables and chairs, plaster walls, and an open counter with a kitchen right behind it. The sound of food sizzling could be heard as a redhaired teen is working over a stovetop, grilling what looks like a delicious piece of steak. The whole restaurant has a warm feeling to it, like a place that looks good to sit and relax in while you get a bite to eat.

Turning towards the camera, Soma gives the recording a good look at the steak he's cooking before he sets it aside on a bowl of rice, putting in red wine and diced onions to start frying that too.]

Hey! The name's Soma Yukihira and I just want to let everyone know that I've opened up my own restaurant "Yukihira". It's a special-of-the-day style shop, but full of the knowledge I've learned both from my pops and at Totsuki Academy. I'll be sure to show you a world of tastes that a high-class eatery would never be able to give.

Ah, and I'm located over in Attleton.

Feel free to come by whenever you like! There's no need for reservations here so just come up and order. There's plenty more to like than just the Shlyapin Steak Bowl too.

[A pause, before: ]

Ah, how rude, I nearly forgot to introduce myself. I am the Dark Adonis, Vyers. Guardian of Attleton City.

Hm...depends on the day and season. A lot of food can tend to be only available in certain seasons due to the best times for harvesting or catching. Like pacific saury is really good during the Autumn season. But I wouldn't want to serve it any other time.

[He does tilt his head at the introduction from the eccentric man though.]

That's an interesting title. How do you gain something like being called a Dark Adonis?

Are Guardians an important position? What kind of work do you do?
[Does it have anything to do with cooking? No it doesn't Soma.]

I see, I see...it sounds as if you know your craft well. Good to hear.

[At the question of his title, he simply smirked, leaning back in his chair.]

Why, one can only gain a title of that splendour by earning it. By being a truly demonic incarnation of power and beauty, an overwhelming force in the Netherworld itself! 'Dark Adonis' is truly fitting to my nature.

As for my role as Guardian, there is one for each City here in Genessia, and we are responsible for the wellbeing of the people here.

I wouldn't think of opening a restaurant if I didn't know what I was doing.

[12 years experience with this does mean he's got the skill and knowledge for it.]

[He does grin at the defining of the title though.]

Is that so? So you'd say you're the strongest thing in your world then? That's not a bad idea. [Though the name 'Adonis' is kinda weird.]

So you guys are kinda like the leaders of each section? Or are you more the people we call on if anything bad happens?

Of course I am the strongest! There are none who can truly match me in a fair fight, for my power dazzles all who come to face me in battle!

[This was a complete exaggeration, but that's his ego for you.]

Leaders, protectors. We hold both those roles, to put it simply, although some emphasise one aspect more than the other.

[Uh..mai bean? Soma's...not quite sure what the man's saying, but that's normal. He's used to others speaking foreign languages when trying to talk to his dad.]

Well, you're free to come by when you can then. Yukihira's always ready for any customers.

[Huh...strongest in a fight huh...] Like a superhero or something? [That would be so cool! Of course now he's imagining Vyers in a Sentai outfit or something. Probably in the same dark colored scheme as what the eccentric man is normally wearing.]

Hmhm, I think I may come over tomorrow, in that case.

[Please don't encourage him, Soma. Otherwise he will be running around in a Sentai outfit, and no one wants to see that.]

Not a Superhero, an Overlord - a greater title still! I am a demon at heart, after all.

[Soma's used to the ridiculous when it comes to outfits. After all, he's got a dorm-mate that goes around dressed in either a naked apron or a fundoshi when he's at home.]

Demon huh? You remind me that my dad was apparently nicknamed Asura once. [That was in cooking Soma.]

I can't wait to try it. Is it close to my home?

[Assuming he remembers where she lived.]

Hey! Yeah it should be pretty close to you. It is in Attleton after all.

Come on by sometime. I'll cook you whatever you'd like to try.

[Just be prepared to have foodgasms.]

I will.

[It might not be today... Terra needs to learn to leave her house more often. Now she usually needs to be convinced to leave the flower shop.]

Do you have a menu?

[Well Yukihira would be open every day, so you're free to come by whenever.]

Aha...the menu is usually whatever ingredients I can find when I restock my stores. So I don't have a stable menu to go with. It's all very delicious though and its things my dad and I had worked on to make.

[She nods her head before glancing around the flower shop.]

Can I come by after I close up? That would be at sun down.

[Terra doesn't use clocks unless she has too.]

[He nods his head before flipping the steak over to let the other side cook.]

Yeah, that's fine. I don't usually close til about 9. Let the people who get off work around dinner time get some food you know? Come down when you can and we'll see what you might like to eat.

I will then.

[At the end of the day Terra closes up shop and then prepares to head towards her friends need place. She's happy to see that he's found a place to cook. She assumes that anything he'd make is amazing.

When she arrives she peeks inside unsure what to expect.]

[The shop in the evening is a relatively bustling place, a few people here or there and they look like they're happily eating. Upon seeing Terra come in, Soma waves to her and motions to an open chair at the counter near the open kitchen, a wok in his other hand making the scooping motions for tossing what looks to be fried rice.]

Hey! Glad you could make it.

[All in all, it's a warm, friendly atmosphere of a relaxed, casual nature.]

[Terra moves easily through the bustle and takes a seat at the chair that Soman indicated. Her bright blue eyes glance around the space before landing back on her friend. She's happy to see that it's busy.]

Of course. This is nice.

[She then looks for a menu wondering what he might have put together.]

Glad you like it.

[The menu for the day is listed on small pamphlets on the table as well as on the wooden signs placed around the shop; shalyapin steak bowl, spring mackeral onigiri chaazuke, furikake gohan, and more. The menu seems to be all things that are cheap, though undoubtedly delicious judging by the smells coming from the stovetop.]

So, what are you going to have?

[Terra holds up a menu letting her eyes skim through it before picking something that sounds good. She has no idea what it is but she trusts Soma's cooking.]

Spring mackeral onigiri chaazuke

[The last two words sound a little awkward and unfamiliar as she pronounces them incorrectly to her friend and chief.]

[Soma grins as he pulls out a second frying pan, placing it on the stove as he starts moving around gathering ingredients.]

That's a good choice~.

[He's already cutting up the fish into small fillets, using a clean knife and board for the vegetables before he starts to fry the fish. Soon enough there's a bowl full of delicious food sitting in front of Terra. It looks like this.]

Meal's ready. Enjoy.

[Terra looks wide eyed at the dish and she almost doesn't want to ruin the beautiful presentation that it makes in the bowl. Carefully she takes a spoonful of the rice and mackeral, her eyes alight as she places the small bite into her mouth.

Her fingers move in front of her lips and she looks up at Soma surprised.]

It's salty.

[And very delicious.]

[Soma grins and places a cup of hot green tea in front of Terra.]

Yeah, that'd be the salted kelp tea that the rice and fish is soaked in. Helps give it some body while still keeping the overall meal light. Good though right?

[Indeed though the tea is salty, the rest of the food is balanced just right so that the salt accentuates the flavors of the fish and rice together.]

Yes.

[Terra looks down at the tea and smiles.]

Thank you.

[She takes a sip of her drink and then continues to eat. Her bites, as always, are small and her she pauses every few spoon fulls to smile.]

[Soma smiles back before he turns back to the stove, already putting together the order for a steak bowl setting the bowl and a cup of tea onto a tray. He's apparently the waiter too as he carries the tray to another customer at one of the tables, setting the food down with practiced ease before coming back around the counter.

Most of the store seems to have died down now, customers satisfied having left with only a few remaining eating their meals.]

[Terra watches him work as she finishes her food. It's curious and she wonders if this is what she looks like at the flower shop.]

Why don't you get servers?

[Soma certainly looks busy as he bustles about, currently washing several used plates and cutlery as he lifts his head up to look at Terra.]

Well I only just made the restaurant. I've not really had time to put out an ad looking for new hires. [He's laughing a bit cheerfully despite it all though.]

I'm doing pretty well I think anyway.

You are... you can ask the newspaper.

[Of course Terra never asked for help at the flower shop. She just happened to find two of her friends who were interested in helping her.]

Oh? That's certainly an idea. I'll have to check on that to see what their rates are.

For now though I think I'm in good hands.

[He's also refilling Terra's cup of tea since he had the time.]

Thank you.

[She whispers softly and while her food is gone she stays a little longer sipping her tea and watching as Soma cooks. It's very interesting to watch. Her thin fingers wrap around her cup before taking another sip and feeling the linger warmth of the liquid.]

Will you be open seven days a week?

It wasn't much.

[A trademark reply of his as he continues cleaning up the kitchen, cutlery going back into its drawer, knife getting a grindstone and oil treatment to ensure proper sharpness while pans and pots are put away in the various cupboards.]

I certainly plan to be open at least Monday to Saturday. Depending on how busy I get I might end up opening Sundays too. Got to have a day where I can do my own thing you know? [Even if his own thing is experiment on new recipes for his shop.]

[Terra nods.]

I keep my shop open while the sun is up from Monday to Saturday.

[It works well for her since she has to tend to the plants as well as the store. Though she also has help.]

Yeah, I might go with that idea. See how it works out and go from there.

[Then again with Totsuki, any time he had downtime was time to be cooking, so maybe he could still open every so often? Well he figures it'd all work out later.]

Would you like more tea?

Yes, please.

[Terra lifts her glass with a smile. She wishes she could help but her hands are full with the flower shop.]

[Soma refills Terra's cup before filling another cup of tea for himself.]

Well I'm glad to see that today's been a success. It's definitely nice for you to have come by.

[Terra nods with a smile as she sips her tea.]

I'll try and stop by when I can.

[Even if she can't stay very long.]

[Soma grins again as he wipes his hand on the cloth around his waist.]

I'll be waiting. My doors are always open.

Thank you.

[She smiles, makes sure that she leaves enough money behind and then heads towards the door.]

I'll see you soon.

It wasn't much.

[Soma waves before he starts to scoop the money up to put away.]
