[ Nozaki has everything set up. there are Valentines Day decorations everywhere including little hearts everywhere. it helps to do a friend's party that is usually on a "holiday" after said holiday. things are cheaper and you get more of everything! there are fresh flowers on the tables and there are lace table cloths on them with hearts. doilies might also be on the tables. there is fruit, drink, and mostly sweets everywhere.

when Nozaki sees someone enter, he visibly flinches, and turns quickly. taking a deep breath, he realizes it isn't Mikoshiba ]

Hurry, hurry! Hide before the birthday boy gets here.

[okay. she had only decided to come to this place because she was curious, that's it. someone becoming the best model around? she definitely had to check it out. she worked as a professional model back home after all, she needed to check out the competition here.... or someone who could also be her companion, maybe.

when she walks in she seems incredibly nervous however. she was never good at going out and being active on her own, making new friends was always so hard for her. she could do it this time, though!! when she saw the (really tall) other man in the room, she flinched as well when he suddenly looked at her.]

[ Nozaki's still looking down and thinking. he almost looks angry but he's deep in thought. when he sees someone with hair color closest to his girlfriend, he quickly looks up. ... meaning that he's still got that angry look on his face ]

Hey, are you one of Mikoshiba's friends?

[w-why is he so angry?! kirino took a nervous step back, feeling like she really shouldn't be here when....

[aaahhh?! it's for him?! that mikorin guy?! kirino's expression suddenly changed from being nervous to just annoyed.]

Oh. That guy? Well we're not friends- he's just some guy that was yelling at me about his stupid otome games. Hahhh but if it's a party for him, I guess I can stay, I wanna ask him about that modeling gig of his.

[ he blinks, his expression changing from excited to surprised and then he's kinda...indifferent. Nozaki family expressions are weird ]

Sorry about that. He gets really defensive over his dating sims since he spends a lot of time on them. [ yup, just throw him right under the bus on that one ] He's really a great guy though. I wouldn't let him date my brother if I thought otherwise.

[well. kirino had also gotten defensive over her little sister eroge, so it had turned into a massive argument either way. at the mention of the dating part kirino looked definitely shocked.]

S-so he really was living out his little girl fantasies with otome games, I knew it!

I use him as a model now for my manga since he's gotten more confident in himself.

[ he pauses, thinking of how to word this ] Well, his character is strong-willed and well liked. They're goal oriented and have a mysterious past -- a lot like Mikorin himself! [ now she'll think there's more to him than meets the eye. nailed it ]

[...ehh....?! she narrows her eyes at that explanation.]

Him? He has a mysterious past? ....I'm kind of curious now.

[..........she glares for a moment.]

[ they've been in position for thirty minutes... people are probably starting to get angry that they've been waiting so long... BUT THAT'S OKAY THIS IS WORTH IT.

Nozaki flips the lights off right before 2, hoping Mikoshiba will come in soon enough. he really wants to surprise him and let him see what he's been doing all day. HE EVEN RENTED THE PLACE OUT/HIS WORK FOR A DAY FOR THIS. any minute now and...

there comes Mikorin. everyone's quiet for at least a minute. Nozaki flips the light on just like he told everyone he would and they all jump up from their spots ]

SURPRISE!! Happy birthday!!

Nozaki-kun, I told you I'd bring Mikoshiba over so he'd be on time!

[Kashima is crouched in the hiding spot that Nozaki appointed her (behind the counter, next to the drink cooler. Even if she fidgets around a lot, it's hard to see her. Which is why this is her hiding spot--because when has Kashima Yuu not fidgeted?) and waiting patiently. Or as patiently as she can.

Drumming her fingertips on her knees, she glances at Nozaki, also stuck behind the counter so he can flip the light-switch.

She's teasing you because she's bored, Nozaki. Sorry.] We'd be on time!

Shh! Kashima, he could come in at any minute... [ he even puts a finger up to his lips ]

He'll eventually show up. Maybe Mayu had to go and drag him down here.

Mayu arrived, with the guest of honor. He agreed to go shopping with his boyfriend friend. Turning 18 gave Mikoto more options on the games he could purchase. Discount candy was great too. Mayu used his brother's need for research as an excuse for purchasing everything needed for the party.

Mayu gave Mikoto his presents on his actual birthday. Of course chocolate was included. He also drew a martial arts guide with a lot of fanservice, and bought a limited edition Valentines bishoujo figure of a character Mikoto liked.

When everyone yelled 'Surprise', Mayu put an arm around his boyfriend. Mostly out of affection, but partly to keep him calm.

"Happy birthday, Mikoto-san."

[ after the initial shock Nozaki gave Mikoshiba, he's just going to observe and make sure that everyone is having a good time. THAT DOOR IS FOR EMPLOYEES ONLY, YOU BETTER STEP--okay, they moved away.

...wasn't Mayu supposed to bring the cake? or was he? now he's worried that he might've forgotten something... ]

[Kashima wanted to give Mikoshiba her present in person, because she'd thought very hard about it and was thus quite proud. Ordinarily, she wasn't very good with gifts. She could spent a lot of time thinking and come up with nothing at all. But this year for Mikoshiba and his definitely-not-a-boyfriend-but-they-are-absolutely-dating-boyfriend, Kashima had come up with what she thought was a thoughtful gift.

For one, there was a small anime figure that Mikoshiba had agonized over. She didn't know a lot about them, but she knew that Mikoshiba had chosen the one with striped socks instead of the plain socks, and now he wished he'd chosen the one with the plain socks.

But the gift she was proud of was a very large, very soft blanket. It was large enough for two people to curl up together with room to spare, and she'd thought it was plenty soft enough to be a nice gift. It was also a very nice shade of purple, which Mikoshiba had definitely said would look good on Mayu when they'd gone dress shopping last fall.

Also, chocolate. It's Valentine's day, cut her some slack.]

Mikoshiba! I have you birthday present and I promise it's not just chocolate!

Yes, he models here in Genessia but he used to model back at my home as well.
