Who: Flynt Coal and Pyrrha Nikos
What: Flynt bumps into a dead girl. Hilarity ensues! Okay, maybe not hilarity, but. Something ensues.
When: March 3rd, morning
Where: Cat's Eye Cafe
Warnings: toot toot
==========
[ For the most part, Flynt had been doing alright for himself so far in this place. Chatted up a few folks, more or less made amends with a certain Schnee, managed to snag an apartment in Genessia City... once he found some stable employment, he'd pretty much be set. Not living rich or super fancy, but set enough to get by. Today? Today he's going to see about making a living as a musician, somewhere. Somehow.
But first he needs some coffee. Can't get anything done when you're only half-awake, right?
It's completely on a whim that he settles on the Cat's Eye Cafe - maybe the feline theme reminds him of his partner, who he admittedly misses pretty badly. He wasn't worried about her, exactly - she was doing just fine last time he'd seen her, if not completely exhausted - but it's tough being separated from a good friend so suddenly. Regardless, for one reason or another he decides this is where he's going to grab his morning fuel, so he ducks inside to head up towards the counter. There's no one there right off the bat - maybe they're in the back? - so for now he just takes a look at the menu hanging up. Might not be a bad idea to get some breakfast, too...
So there he is. A man wearing sunglasses even though he's inside. WhoEVER might come out to help him? ]

Toot toot everywhere
Hello! Welcome to the Cat's Eye Cafe. Is there anything that I can start you out with? [Pen ready to write down his order. Although she wasn't feeling particularly cheery, she was able to manage enough while at work. So more than cheerful, her tone of voice rang more tired than anything.]
rooty tooty
Thankfully his shades block her from seeing the uncertainty in his eyes, because what do you say to a girl who freaking died? ]
... Coffee. Black, please.
[ First things first - finish waking up. ]
I'm like, ninety-nine percent sure, but just to be clear - Pyrrha Nikos, right?

Okay! Coming right up! [She was about to go get it when she heard him speak up again.] Yeah, that's me.

[ He shoots a crooked grin at her - he has a lot of questions about what had happened, what she had seen, things about Cinder--
but it really wasn't his place to ask. He was better at smoothing things over than he was at digging for information, anyway. Honestly, the last thing she probably needs is one more person prodding her to talk about what had to be the worst experience of her life. ]

It's nice to meet you, Flynt. You were pretty amazing during the tournament.
Mmm... It was pretty cool. Sadly the cereal itself isn't all that healthy.

Yeah... not amazing enough, but that's the way it goes. Win some, lose some. Your team had some... interesting strategies, I saw.
[ He tries not to think too much on the later matches - when everything had turned for the worse. Stay positive, keep the good vibe rolling. ]
You're telling me! I got hooked on the stuff and ended up with cavities.
no subject
[Thanks, Flynt. Positive was always the best way to go about it.]
I'm sorry to hear about that then. [But that small smile says otherwise. She'll go grab his coffee at least and come back to set it down in front of him.] Is there anything else you'd like?
[Not that she doesn't like talking with him.]

[ As if that's what Jaune was actually going for.
He pauses for a second, glancing over the menu. Right, right, he needed something to eat, too. ]
Could use a bite to eat. What would you recommend?

[ ... that, and yes. Nora is a beast. ]
Then I'll take one of those. If you got cream cheese, that'd be great.
no subject
[She'll leave to get that for him... And look! There is cream cheese!]
Have you settled in okay so far?

Life is weird sometimes. ]
As best I can, mostly. Figuring out work-related stuff, but doing alright other than that. Still kind of a weird situation to wrap my head around, you know?
no subject
Yeah... I think.. we're all doing that right now for various reasons.
no subject
Well, what's the alternative, right? Stand around and do nothing? Not really my style, and it doesn't seem to be everyone else's, either.

[ A pause, as he sips from his coffee. Plenty of reasons this place might be more inviting than home, really.
Then again, given who's apparently here, maybe not, too. ]
Hey, speaking of keeping busy here - I'm thinking about throwing a band together. You play anything?
no subject
Really? That sounds like a great idea. I don't have any experience with any instruments, but it sounds like it would be fun.
