A couple questions for you all.

If you were put on a gameboard, meant to play a specific piece- would you proceed to play out that role as best you could? Even if it meant killing those you loved? Or should I say- especially if it meant complete and total despair for the others around you? And if you did not carry out that plan... ah.... you would be simply cease to exist. This is a 'kill or be killed' situation... now that is interesting as well.

Me? Well.... I would kill, I would destroy, I would cut and rip and thrive on the pain of others..... that is the role I have been given.... that is how I am 'me'.

Also death.... can be a certain salvation for some.... would you not agree?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the basis of the question was to offer a hypothetical scenario involving two roughly equally unpleasant options, no? So enthusiasm for one role defeats the point.

I've already faced such a choice. I found a way to circumvent the powers that be and force an end to the fighting without more bloodshed. Given the same situation, I'd follow the same path again.

A war. The leaders of either side would not accept the other's continued existence. I and some others left our respective armies to form a group that would force a cessation of hostilities before one or both sides were completely wiped out. We succeeded.
