Finding a new pillow
Who: Chopper, Amagi Inn residents/staff
What: SHENANIGANS! Also, Chopper checks in
When: February 23rd
Where: Amagi Inn
Warnings: It's Chopper, language may get inventive
Little hooves paced for a full minute outside the inn. It wasn't really due to nerves or fear, it was something a bit more basic than that. Did he want to go have dinner somewhere or did he want to deal with the Inn first? Did they have food? A few sniffs and yes, they did have food. Well, that solved it.
Maybe.
Hopefully.
One pint-sized doctor reporting for a room and food! Except he'll only get the door halfway open before poking his head through for a careful look around first. New territory didn't always mean friendly territory and he didn't have any nakama or friends to watch his back at the moment. And Punk Hazard was still too recent to be completely carefree.
"Er... Hello?"

"Er... Hello?"

"Please come in. Your room is all ready."
It was the man who'd made Chopper's reservation, one arm piled high with pillows and folded quilts. Looks like their outre little guest was right on time, especially for dinner. He stepped in and motioned for him to follow, a practiced gesture of professional hospitality with just the slightest hint of command.
"Do you have luggage? Let's have you registered at the front desk before taking you up to your room."

Oh, wait... A few seconds later Chopper will relax slightly as he realized it was just someone with very quick actions opening the door for him in welcome. And the voice was someone he vaguely recognized. So after a moment of frozen shock he'll smile up at his welcoming person.
"Thank you!" Though the oddly stoic man will get a curious look at the amount of pillows and blankets he's carrying. But, luggage? Chopper will glance back at the backpack with consideration. "Ah... This is it for now. I didn't have a safe place to keep things until I became a Strawhat so I just have a few changes of clothes and my medical supplies. I'll probably bring books by from the library but... This is the first time at a place like this!"
Yeah, it was evident that Chopper wasn't in the habit of collecting personal items. Perhaps out of all the crew he understood that physical objects could be used up or destroyed so why put value on them? Except books and nakama. Books were knowledge and nakama were treasure so he'll totally wipe the floor with you if you hurt a book or a nakama.
Or staying at legit lodging. After entering he'll be looking around with all sorts of excitement and interest. What did a 'front desk' look like, anyways?

He reminded himself to offer help with moving those personal items whenever their guest got around to it. Said front desk was right ahead; a tall wooden affair topped by a registry and a simple pen. Aoshi looked from the desktop to Chopper and back again.
Suffice to say the disparity in height between them is really obvious.
Without missing a beat or (visibly) straining at the effort, Aoshi pried the massive book from its resting place and knelt before the Amagi Inn's newest guest. The gap between human and reindeer was then filled by a pen.
"Please sign here."
How's that for customer service?

Chopper rubbed the back of his ear as Aoshi simply grabbed the large book and knelt down with it and a pen to accommodate the supposed difference in size. It was so very awkward and yet it seemed like it would be an unspoken insult if he didn't just take the pen with practiced ease with his hand-hoof and sign his name. Chopper TonyTony. He waited until the stoic-seeming man managed to wrestle the massive book back into place before speaking up hesitantly.
"Thank you for the consideration, it really is more than most people think about!" And he was totally being honest and open about that much like a shy teen. Even on the Sunny most of the others didn't pay attention to the fact that the regular stairs and ladders were nearly half his 'normal' height. "I'll try to make sure to use the appropriate transformation in the future. It wouldn't be good if you pulled a muscle or displaced a joint just for me."
no subject
And on that note, he took up Chopper's bags and led the way up the stairs. They took a few steps past some occupied rooms before the onmitsu slid one door aside. The room within is a classic Japanese affair; tatami mats covering the floor, a door leading out to a balcony, flowers on a low table, and plenty of futons. He sets Chopper's bags down, fingers knitted before him as they disappear into his sleeves.
"Do you like it? I saw to it myself."

"Do you need anything?"
no subject
"Ah... Not really?" After another moment of watching her curiously and trying to place her age (failing miserably, damn you One Piece and your age abnormalities!) it was only logical to treat young women as potentially dangerous authority figures. "I'm just exploring. I'm used to ships and islands so a place like this is just weird. So! I'm trying to figure out the usual patterns in buildings and local traditions."
no subject
She didn't think there were certain patterns when it came down to guests and she hadn't been told of anyone new, so she had to take a guess.
"But I am available to help you, should you need it."
no subject
A bit of a hint from Yukiko might be welcome unless her conversation skills were on par with Zoro navigating a straight road. That would be dismally pathetic and hardly close to normal of course so Chopper didn't expect such an outcome. "Er... On the Thousand Sunny there weren't any places off limits unless Nami or Robin were bathing, and this is the first time I've actually stayed in such a large inn. Are there places I'm not supposed to look at?" And a pause as he suddenly remembered, "Oh! Sunny is our ship!"
no subject
"Well just the staff room and the hot springs between certain times since there are times for the men and times for the woman. Oh, and I guess other peoples rooms of course."
no subject
"That's fine, then! I'll only look at the staff areas when it's allowed." Yup, he totally misunderstood that part.
no subject
"You don't go in the staff areas."

Once Chopper had made his way in and likely settled with his room, a white-haired man with pointed ears would approach him, bearing a menu that he'd offer to the much smaller arrival, and smiling at him. "I'm the chef here. If there's anything you want made, leave it to me! I also take custom orders, though depending on what you ask there might be an extra wait for prep time."
no subject
"You mean... There's a choice????" Seriously, this may break his brain more than anything else. A flick of his eyes over this 'menu' made it obvious that there were more than two or three variants on a main theme. Sandwiches meant four or five choice fillings between slices of bread. Octopus meant six or seven offerings on how it was cooked. So having a menu offer more than one type of dish/sides/drinks/sauces/ect? HOLY. EFFING. SHIT.
After a minute or two of staring at the offered menu it might become evident that Chopper's eyes have glazed over and might be swirling.

"Er... I'm not like my captain, so I couldn't eat all of that! So, um... I like sweet things the most, and I'm not used to a lot of hot spices." Obviously the best way around trying to eat a huge amount of food was to let the master of the kitchen know what kinds of things Chopper wasn't fond of eating, then let the master decide what to do about it.
